Story
Xena is an affectionate, energetic dog who LOVES interacting with people. She wants you to play with her toys with her, but she can also play fetch solo when she gets bored. She likes to wear sweatshirts, and to burrow under blankets, and to cuddle with her humans! Xena has shown she can get along with other dogs MOST of the time, but she very rarely will "snap" and bite/latch on to another dog. She really needs to be in a home where she is the only dog and can have all your attention. She sleeps a lot, preferably snuggled up in a cozy chair or bed, and then will have a burst of energy to play. She will greet you affectionately at the door. She loves meeting new people and instantly wants them to pet her. She is crate-trained and walks in easily. She never has bathroom accidents in the house. She LOVES to ride in the car and goes nuts whenever you grab her leash. This playful, sweet girl is looking for a home where she is the center of attention!

Story
Buddy is a sweet and gentle giant. Although short, he is stout. We estimate he is about five years young and very vibrant and affectionate. He likes walks, but not hikes. He’s more of a couch potato. He is very strong, yet calm and easy to handle. He loves young children. Their attention makes him very happy! He can be dog selective as an unaltered male attacked him and injured his eye. It has completely healed and is not painful. His vision is lost in that eye but he still tracks so vets said he was fine to let heal and move forward. It’s part of his charm. He will cuddle on the couch, ride in the car, lay in your lap and sit well for treats. He will make a great companion. He needs a foster to grant him a safe place away from other dogs that don’t like his submissive nature. He is in SC and transport is available.

We don't know how he is with other dogs or cats. Kylo was fine with 2 large dogs where he wandered up (he was around them for about 2 days). He is reactive at the boarding facility where he lives, however, that is not the best indicator. For this reason, it's best to find him a home as the only pet. Ever heard of a 'heart dog?' This boy is someone's heart and soul, loyal to the ends of the earth, ride or die. Kylo would be an excellent companion for someone who is looking for a friend for life. Please consider giving this beautiful boy a forever home. He will definitely steal your heart! Story
Hi, I’m Keaton! I was adopted as a puppy, but sadly, several years later, I found myself back at Pawmetto Lifeline. My previous family didn’t quite understand what I needed as I grew bigger—they kept me outside all the time, and I didn’t get to meet many people or other dogs. Because of that, I can be nervous around strangers and reactive when behind barriers. But once I’m out in the open and get to know you, I’m the sweetest, goofiest, most loving dog you’ll ever meet. The staff here has been so kind, and they believe in me—and I’m starting to believe in myself, too. I’m looking for a calm, quiet home with someone who’s patient and experienced. I didn’t get training in my first home, but I’m eager to learn and bond with someone who’ll show me what love really means. If you can give me the time and space I need to open up, I promise I’ll reward you with endless affection, loyalty, and a one-of-a-kind personality. All I want is a forever family who’ll make me part of their lives—for good this time.My adoption fee of $50 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org. Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday, Friday and Saturday are walk in from 10-5. Please fill out the online application, and you will be contacted if you are approved and are a good fit for one of our adoptable pets.

Story
Hi, my name is Spot!I’m a one-of-a-kind pup here at Pawmetto Lifeline—and I’m looking for a very special person to share my heart with. You see, I’m deaf, which means I experience the world a little differently. Because of that, I need an experienced, patient adopter who understands the importance of structure, boundaries, and clear, consistent communication.I’m super food-motivated (seriously—treats are the way to my heart!), and I’ve got a goofy, loving side that shines when I’m comfortable. But I’ll be honest—I don’t warm up to strangers right away. I need a little time to get to know you and feel safe. Think of it like dating—we need a few visits before I’m ready to commit!I’d do best in a calm, adult-only home with no children and minimal chaos. Once I trust you, I’m incredibly loyal and affectionate. I’m just looking for someone who sees my potential and is willing to go slow with me.If you’re kind, experienced, and up for building a strong bond based on trust and love, I might just be the perfect pup for you. Could you be my person? If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org. Adoptions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please fill out the online application, and you will be contacted if you are approved and are a good fit for one of our adoptable pets.

Story
Hi, my name is Bambi, and I’ve been told I’m a strong little pup with a heart full of determination. I’ve been through a lot in my short life, but I don’t let it get me down—I love life too much!My front paws are a little different, and sometimes they buckle when I put weight on them. My back legs didn’t work at all when I was tiny, but now I’m building strength every day. Sometimes I can even stand tall on my back legs for a moment, and my foster mom cheers me on every time. The doctor says there are no limits to what I might accomplish—it’s all up to me!I don’t particularly enjoy my “bike pedaling” exercises (a puppy riding a bike—can you imagine?), but I do them because they help me grow stronger. In between workouts, I love tug-of-war, chewing on my ball, and being curious about the fluffy cats who live with me. I also adore kids and think they’re wonderful. At the end of the day, I like to snuggle close and drift off to sleep with my person nearby. I may move differently than other dogs, but I have the same love, joy, and spirit as any puppy—I just need someone special to believe in me.Could you be the one to cheer me on as I keep discovering all the amazing things I can do?I am a Priority Pet!Pawmetto Lifeline is offering FREE basic medical care for LIFE for Bambi-all included services listed below!Annual exam for life at Pawmetto LifelineCore Vaccines for life at Pawmetto LifelineFree annual HW test for life at Pawmetto LifelineCost of medications plus 10% (*doesn`t include HW/Flea prevention) from Pawmetto LifelineMy adoption fee of $100 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. 🐾 Meet Kevin – Your Happy-Go-Lucky Adventure Buddy! 📍 Lexington, SC Name: Kevin Age: 4 years Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier Weight: 63 lbs Neutered/Vaccinated: Yes! UTD on rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, HW & flea prevention, neutered & microchipped ✅ ✅ Good with: Female dogs: Great! Male dogs: Has only disliked one (a relative) Cats? Can be tested if needed 🐱 Kids? Sweet with people, but may be too bouncy for toddlers due to high energy ⚠️ Medical Notes: Has a flea allergy – needs to stay on flea prevention during warm months 🌿 🏠 House/Crate Trained: Yes! Just needs to be crated when left alone 🧡 Personality: Kevin is a sweet, friendly, people-loving goofball! He’s always excited to see his humans and loves playing with doggy friends. He matches energy well — he plays with high-energy dogs and gives calmer pups their space. He walks nicely on leash but can pull when excited — typical happy pitty energy! He’ll thrive with room to play and a family that can help him burn off some of his zoomies. 📩 Message/comment if you’re interested — and be sure to include Kevin’s name in your message. 📋 Adoption application & contract required to ensure he finds the best home possible. Let’s get this wiggly sweetheart the family he’s dreaming of! 💙🐶

Story
💙 STILL AVAILABLE — 1.5 YEARS LATER! Lip: 75 Pounds of Love, Laughter, and Endless Energy 📍 Location: Lexington, SC 🐾 Name: Lip 🎂 Age: ~1.5 years old (DOB: 9/24/23) 🐶 Breed: Bully Mix ⚖️ Size: ~75 lbs of pure wiggles and zoomies 🚹 Sex: Male ✂️ Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Neutered, microchipped, and up to date on Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella 🧪 Health: Heartworm negative and current on both heartworm & flea prevention 🐾 Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: ✅ Dogs: Excellent with dogs of all sizes 🐱 Cats: Likely fine, but his energy makes it hard to safely test — may chase if overstimulated 👧 Kids: Friendly but may be too much for small children due to his excitement level 🚫 Aggression or medical issues?: None — just the happiest, most excitable boy you’ll ever meet 🛟 Reason for rehoming?: Rescue intake — still searching for his forever home after 1.5 years 🏡 House/crate trained?: ✅ House trained 🏠 Familiar with kennel setups but not formally crate trained Additional info/story (personality): Lip is the definition of a lovable goofball — all heart, all energy, all the time. He’s a social butterfly who adores people and dogs alike, and he truly wants to be your best friend. His biggest challenge? He just doesn’t know how big or bouncy he is! He needs more than daily walks — a fenced yard, frequent dog park visits, or an active owner will be key to keeping this boy happy and healthy. Because he burns energy so fast, he also does best on a high-calorie, high-protein food; otherwise, he’ll start to look too lean even with regular meals. 💬 Note on temperament: Lip is extremely shy around men at first due to past mistreatment before rescue. He won’t willingly approach new men right away — it usually takes a couple of hours of calm interaction before he feels safe enough to engage. Once that trust is earned, though, he bonds deeply and loves just as fiercely as he plays. Lip knows how to be good — he just has ants in his pants and finds “calm” to be the hardest command. He’ll reward your patience with loyalty, laughter, and love every single day. 📩 Message/comment if interested. Please include his name (“Lip”) when messaging — I’m helping several animals find homes right now. 📝 Adoption application & contract required to ensure a safe, loving, and lasting placement.

Story
I rescued Zeus from the Columbia animal shelter 5 years ago. He was very skittish, skinny, and didn't trust anyone. From day one, he was completely house trained. He had never had an accident in the house and has never chewed anything or been distructive. He is the most loyal friend and companion, choosing to rarely leave my side. He is everything I've ever wanted in a man's best friend. Zeus just HATES the vet! I truly believe the vet, with all the same sounds, smells, and feels of a shelter, cause an imence amount of anxiety for him. He shows his anxiety with a tucked tail and crouched approach. I can touch Zeus anywhere, ears, eyes, mouth, face, and I can rub Zeus's belly or pull his tail. The nail cutting experience has changed my comfort level around Zeus. All combos of meds have been tried (gabatraz/Ace promazine) and now he can't even get his yearly vaccinations. He's an amazing dog at home. He can't go to the vet. It brings back all trama for him. Please help him! He's my ❤️
