Story
Buddy is a sweet and gentle giant. Although short, he is stout. We estimate he is about five years young and very vibrant and affectionate. He likes walks, but not hikes. He’s more of a couch potato. He is very strong, yet calm and easy to handle. He loves young children. Their attention makes him very happy! He can be dog selective as an unaltered male attacked him and injured his eye. It has completely healed and is not painful. His vision is lost in that eye but he still tracks so vets said he was fine to let heal and move forward. It’s part of his charm. He will cuddle on the couch, ride in the car, lay in your lap and sit well for treats. He will make a great companion. He needs a foster to grant him a safe place away from other dogs that don’t like his submissive nature. He is in SC and transport is available.

Adopt me! Carl is a fat lap dog! He is a couch potato professional. He loves walks, car rides and cuddles. He’s well behaved and does as he is asked. He’s even good for a bath. He can use a little weight loss and knows you can spend leash time and play time to help him achieve a 5 pound loss. He is highly motivated, with or without treats! He loves hugs and kisses and will let you know when one is due. He’s silly and goofy, letting you see his bowl is empty when he brings it to you.

Scout is one handsome dude! He was saved off the e-list at a local shelter and has been in a foster home learning to DOG. The foster is moving and we need to place him in a new foster, or adopter. He is a long legged and cuddly boy. He is playful and lovable. He is a big security system for his people. He is very alert and attentive to people coming near. He is a couch potato that loves to run laps when he can. He is good with kids and other dogs with proper introductions. He is a little too big for toddlers. He would love to meet you and go to his forever home.

We don't know how he is with other dogs or cats. Kylo was fine with 2 large dogs where he wandered up (he was around them for about 2 days). This boy is someone's heart and soul, loyal to the ends of the earth, ride or die. Kylo would be an excellent companion for someone who is looking for a friend for life. Please consider giving this beautiful boy a forever home. He will definitely steal your heart! Story
Baloo was dumped at a high kill shelter but we sprung him just in time before he was euthanized. He needs an experienced adopter that can handle the size and strength of the Dane (he's not quite as large as a Dane but he is large). He listens fairly well, He knows some commands including sit and down. He will make someone a great companion. If there are other dogs it will be best to introduce him slowly and give them plenty of time to get to know each other in a controlled environment. He needs a 6ft fence - he can jump pretty high.

Story
Hi, I’m Keaton! I was adopted as a puppy, but sadly, several years later, I found myself back at Pawmetto Lifeline. My previous family didn’t quite understand what I needed as I grew bigger—they kept me outside all the time, and I didn’t get to meet many people or other dogs. Because of that, I can be nervous around strangers and reactive when behind barriers. But once I’m out in the open and get to know you, I’m the sweetest, goofiest, most loving dog you’ll ever meet. The staff here has been so kind, and they believe in me—and I’m starting to believe in myself, too. I’m looking for a calm, quiet home with someone who’s patient and experienced. I didn’t get training in my first home, but I’m eager to learn and bond with someone who’ll show me what love really means. If you can give me the time and space I need to open up, I promise I’ll reward you with endless affection, loyalty, and a one-of-a-kind personality. All I want is a forever family who’ll make me part of their lives—for good this time.My adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?If my bio shows “Spay/Neutered” with a checkmark, I have already been altered; if you do not see this listed, my surgery is still scheduled and a refundable spay/neuter deposit will be required, which will be returned within 10 business days after my procedure is completed. If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org.Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, you’re welcome to walk in anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm. Please note that we’re closed for adoptions on Sundays and Mondays.

Story
Hi, my name is Spot!I’m a one-of-a-kind pup here at Pawmetto Lifeline—and I’m looking for a very special person to share my heart with. You see, I’m deaf, which means I experience the world a little differently. Because of that, I need an experienced, patient adopter who understands the importance of structure, boundaries, and clear, consistent communication.I’m super food-motivated (seriously—treats are the way to my heart!), and I’ve got a goofy, loving side that shines when I’m comfortable. But I’ll be honest—I don’t warm up to strangers right away. I need a little time to get to know you and feel safe. Think of it like dating—we need a few visits before I’m ready to commit!I’d do best in a calm, adult-only home with no children and minimal chaos. Once I trust you, I’m incredibly loyal and affectionate. I’m just looking for someone who sees my potential and is willing to go slow with me.If you’re kind, experienced, and up for building a strong bond based on trust and love, I might just be the perfect pup for you. Could you be my person? My adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org. Adoptions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please fill out the online application, and you will be contacted if you are approved and are a good fit for one of our adoptable pets.

Story
Eeyore is a calm natured boy, walks pretty well on a leash. Gets along with other dogs, more on the submissive side of things. He always has a "ho-hum" look on his face even when he is a happy boy and excited to see you (thus his name LOL) He would do well in a home with another dog or solo, he just needs a loving, patient forever home to give him time to come out of his shell. Sweet boy.

Story
🧡 Meet Penny: The Mystery Mix with a Heart of Gold 📍 Location: Lexington, SC 🐾 Name: Penny 🎂 Age: 2 years (Estimated DOB: 5/28/23) 🐶 Breed Guess: German Shepherd Mix (DNA tested) ⚖️ Size: About 45 lbs 🚺 Sex: Female ✂️ Spayed: Yes 💉 Vaccines: UTD on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella 🧪 Health: Heartworm negative, microchipped, and current on heartworm & flea prevention 🐾 Gets Along With: ✅ Dogs: Loves other dogs — friendly with every dog she’s met ✅ Kids: Great with children ✅ Cats: good with cats 💔 Why She’s Looking for a Home: Penny was found as a stray and later adopted — but unfortunately returned when she grew bigger than the adopter expected. Now she’s ready for a forever home that loves her just the way she is. 🏡 Training & Preferences: ✅ House Trained: Yes 🏠 Crate Trained: Yes — but she does best with indoor/outdoor access (like a doggy door) as she still gets a bit anxious in a crate when contained & left alone 💖 Personality: Penny is affectionate, upbeat, and eager to please. She has a sweet soul and just wants to be loved. Her energy level is moderate — she can be a little hyper at times, but she knows basic cues like “sit” and “down” and is very treat-motivated, making her a great candidate for further training. She walks beautifully on a leash and has shown nothing but friendliness toward everyone she meets — both human and canine. Penny would thrive in a home that can offer her companionship (as she gets very attached to her human), structure, and the space to stretch her legs (and personality!). 📩 Interested? Send me a message with her name (Penny) so I know who you're inquiring about — I’m helping rehome multiple animals right now. ✔️ Adoption application & contract required to ensure she goes to a safe, loving home.

💙 STILL AVAILABLE — 1.5 YEARS LATER! Lip: 75 Pounds of Love, Laughter, and Endless Energy 📍 Location: Lexington, SC 🐾 Name: Lip 🎂 Age: ~1.5 years old (DOB: 9/24/23) 🐶 Breed: Bully Mix ⚖️ Size: ~75 lbs of pure wiggles and zoomies 🚹 Sex: Male ✂️ Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Neutered, microchipped, and up to date on Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella 🧪 Health: Heartworm negative and current on both heartworm & flea prevention 🐾 Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: ✅ Dogs: Excellent with dogs of all sizes 🐱 Cats: Likely fine, but his energy makes it hard to safely test — may chase if overstimulated 👧 Kids: Friendly but may be too much for small children due to his excitement level 🚫 Aggression or medical issues?: None — just the happiest, most excitable boy you’ll ever meet 🛟 Reason for rehoming?: Rescue intake — still searching for his forever home after 1.5 years 🏡 House/crate trained?: ✅ House trained 🏠 Familiar with kennel setups but not formally crate trained Additional info/story (personality): Lip is the definition of a lovable goofball — all heart, all energy, all the time. He’s a social butterfly who adores people and dogs alike, and he truly wants to be your best friend. His biggest challenge? He just doesn’t know how big or bouncy he is! He needs more than daily walks — a fenced yard, frequent dog park visits, or an active owner will be key to keeping this boy happy and healthy. Because he burns energy so fast, he also does best on a high-calorie, high-protein food; otherwise, he’ll start to look too lean even with regular meals. 💬 Note on temperament: Lip is extremely shy around men at first due to past mistreatment before rescue. He won’t willingly approach new men right away — it usually takes a couple of hours of calm interaction before he feels safe enough to engage. Once that trust is earned, though, he bonds deeply and loves just as fiercely as he plays. Lip knows how to be good — he just has ants in his pants and finds “calm” to be the hardest command. He’ll reward your patience with loyalty, laughter, and love every single day. 📩 Message/comment if interested. Please include his name (“Lip”) when messaging — I’m helping several animals find homes right now. 📝 Adoption application & contract required to ensure a safe, loving, and lasting placement.
