Story
Sweet, energetic, Jupiter is ready for adoption. She is a special needs girl who will need continued medical care. When she came to the rescue she had virtually no hair due to Demodex Mange, Heart worm positive, and a severe eye infection caused by Entropion (which is when the eyelids roll inward and the eye lashes are constantly rubbing the eye). She has been treated for mange, been spayed, and has had multiple surgeries to fix her eyes. We do not know if her hair will ever fully come back. She is receiving treatment for heart worms. She will need to continued treatment with eye medication due to now having dry eye. We have also discovered that she suffers from allergies. This will require continued allergy injections, RX food, and regular vet visits for skin issues. We know its a lot, but we simply can't give up on her. She does well with some dogs,, but would love to be spoiled and live her life as an only pet. She does great with the 3yr old in her foster home.

Story
Penny here, I'm petite pitty female that landed a sweet foster home after having my pups at AC. My pups have grown up to not need me anymore so I have a little anxiety. I love people a bit more than I probably should which has caused me to have some separation anxiety when my people leave. I do well in a sturdy travel kennel or a sturdy wire kennel when I'm left at home to keep me safe. When I was younger I probably didn't get to practice much manners with others. I have played well eventually with a couple of male dogs. I may need to be only dog since not many others understand my harsh playing and lack of boundaries. I do however love little kids and have been around a little one as young as one with supervision. I'm intense lover and would really enjoy a home to call my own. Please consider setting up a meeting with me!

Story
Maggie Meet Maggie Mae! She is our beautiful about 4year old female pit bull (we believe, as we got her from the pound). We are looking for a family to adopt her. She is an amazing dog. She gets along with other dogs and most humans. She has one unfortunate trait, she doesn’t like our new cat. She loves to cuddle and sleep, as she does the latter about 20 hours out of the day. She spoons with my husband or I every night...lol. She is very well potty and kennel trained. I think she would be amazing for a single person as she is very protective. She likes other dogs, but tends to get possessive.

Story
Saturn is truly the Queen of Hearts at our shelter, and we are totally devoted to her. One of our volunteers says: "Saturn loves all of her friends so deeply that I feel humbled by the capacity of her heart." **We are so grateful to our friends at the Ryan Animal Rescue Foundation who are sponsoring FREE training for six weeks through GoodPup for Saturn and her new family!** Saturn is three years old and weighs 52 pounds. Her black and white coat is beautifully marked. She has a warmth and equanimity that make her a sought after companion. Saturn is an absolute joy to be around and we all savor her company. Saturn has such a zest for life! She will roll around on her back and kick up her legs, truly living in the moment with so much joy. She also loves belly rubs. Saturn trots companionably at your side on daily walks and enjoys exploring the shelter grounds. She also likes to be in the fenced yard and her favorite thing is playing fetch. She will leap high into the air to catch a toy you toss her way and is so agile, athletic and graceful! Saturn likes to go to the toy box and select the ones she wants to play with! Saturn has also enjoyed outings with some of our volunteers and is a great representative for our shelter! She has also had several sleepovers and been a cherished guest. Saturn is a bright dog who has already mastered the sit, give paw, come and stay commands, and is working on down. The daughter of one of our volunteers says Saturn makes her feel calm inside. She has done so well with the children of several of our volunteers. Saturn is such a great dog! She has a serenity of spirit that makes her a joy to be around. Saturn is the perfect dog to be at your side during the day and curl up at your feet at night! Saturn spent some out of the shelter time in the home with one of our dedicated volunteers and here is what Betty Ann says about her: "She is a lover! Saturn is super affectionate and gives lots of hugs and kisses. She is easy on the leash and loves long walks on the trail. Balls are her favorite toy. She'll pounce on them and bring them back to you. She's not a picky eater and loves all kinds of treats - and will sit for them. Saturn is super soft and barely sheds. She thinks she's a lap dog. Saturn would benefit from a fenced in yard where she can run. Its been a pleasure to have her in our home. She has brought us so much joy! Saturn will be a loyal friend to whomever chooses her and gives her the life she deserves." Two of our devoted volunteers have frequently hosted Saturn at their house when the shelter is closed and Sara reports: "Saturn is a bouncy dog, playful and joyful and happy in your company. She also loves playing quietly at your feet enjoying her chewy toys. She is always up for a walk or playtime in the yard, but is easy and content when inside with her people. She loves people she knows and loves affection. She is eager to learn how to be a good dog and she needs some guidance with that because she has lived at Animal Control half of her young life. She wants a person who will be kind and patient but firm with her while she learns. She needs to be an only pet in the a calm house. Saturn is wonderful to have around the house. She is sweet and good natured and very good company. Saturn is loved by everyone at Animal Control and She will be the best dog ever if you put in the time and love she deserves." She may only be adopted by someone experienced with a dog who is protective of her people around strangers. She must be put in another room securely when strangers enter the house and room. And Saturn must be properly introduced or remain in another room. She needs a patient, experienced owner who can work with her, provide structure, and help her feel secure. A household without lots of activity would be the best environment for Saturn. It would be helpful if someone will be home with her most of the time. E-mail ccacangels@yahoo.com for more information! Please come visit! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Located in Nashville, TN. Copper is a 2.5 year old Pitt Bull mix. Copper was rescued with his siblings at about 5 weeks old. Copper is very obedient and loving. He is house trained and crate trained, and knows how to sit. Copper would do best in a house with no other pets or children. found starved and stumbling in the cold rain... Has hip issues and stumbles due to it. Can't see well nor can he hear super good either. Was in terrible shape when I rescued him. He is walking much better, but there is a strong possibility he will still stumble a bit due to hip dysplaysia. He has had all shots, but has not been neutered due to his condition and age. If he is to be around other dogs, we will have him neutered prior to leaving us. He has the sweetest attitude but we feel he has never experianced real love and what it feels like. this boy deserves some big hugs, good food, and kindness. We will always keep up with Joey. He just needs a cuddle human at nights and likes to be out during the day.

Story
Severlly handicapped! birth defect. Front legs are both compromised. He can hobble across the floor to go out to potty, he can play in the grass and with some toys as well. He is sweet. Very. but still young and wiggles, and wiggles and wiggles. He has a wheelchair but the flooring has to be just right for it or he will flip forward. We are hoping for prosthetics and have at least at this point made one contact on 3 D printing him some. He walks like a kangaroo a bit and ties to jump up and give ou attention but has no legs to hold himself onto you. He needs the PERFECT place, is your place that place?

Please meet Laila. Laila will be 7 in October. She is brindle in color. We have two dogs that we are looking to rehome. Laila is playful and loves attention just like Rocky. Both of our pets are what we consider inside dogs. They are not left outside overnight. We are looking to hopefully rehome them to a home with a very similar situation as they currently have. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We would love to keep them together but understand that may not be possible. That being said, will you be the one to provide Laila her next loving home? :-)

Story
I have been trying to rehome my girl Star for over a year now. I’m in nursing school and work full-time and no longer have to time to appropriately care for her. She is a boxer mix and has been spayed. She was diagnosed mid last year with hypothyroidism and takes meds twice daily to control it. She enjoys walks and knows basic commands. She is house trained and crate trained. She loves kids and gets along well with other dogs. She’s good on her rabies for two years. Star had a wisdom panel and I know what breeds she is genetically connected to. I just needs so help with my girl.
