Story
Bo is purebred American Bully who weighs about 75lbs. We have owned Bo since he was 6 weeks old, but as life has drastically changed and gotten busier the last year and we unfortunately cannot prioritize him as much as we would like too. He is now about 3.5 years old, his birthday is March 10. Bo is a very active dog, who loves to explore, play and spend time cuddling with his owners. Bo has gotten more active as the years have gone by. He spends a large chunk of the day outside running around, sleeping, laying around and is up to 2-3 walks (ranging from 1mi-2miles) a day. Bo would need to go to a home with active owners, who can walk him frequently, play fetch with him and love on him. Bo is also very loyal and attached to his owners, he wants to be wherever you are all the time. BO DOES NOT NEED TO BE NEUTERED AFTER ADOPTION. I’m not sure why the listing says that but that is not a requirement.

Story
Meet Bubba, a 2.5-year-old neutered male Pitbull/Husky mix.The person that found Bubba noted that he loves to go on long walks/hikes and is always up for an adventure. He does pull on the leash but will calm down after his initial excitement is released. He did good in the finders car and happy to go. Bubba would do best in a home with no cats as he does seem to be overly curious in them. Bubba didn't like water at the finder's house and was scared of their sprinkler. Bubba was a little reserved with our staff when he first came in, but is slowly opening up and showing what a goober he can be. He likes to check out the park and go for walks and has started to do some zoomies, even if it seems as though he doesn't even know why he is doing them! It is likely that he will bond better to an active adopter that can make him part of their daily lives. Although he might be reserved at first, we are sure when this boy bonds he will be your best friend for life.*UPDATE*Bubba was adopted but had to be returned after 10 days. The adopter loved him very much and said that Bubba has been wonderful in the home and good on leash but sadly the roommate and Bubba were not a match for each other. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

Story
Meet J. Cole, a 2-year-old male Pit Bull/Husky mix... Well that is our best guess, some speculation has been thrown out he is a hybrid cross of a Seal and a Fox, once you meet him in person you will see what we mean! Can you believe that J. Cole has been with us since early March? He, like so many other amazing dogs, keeps getting overlooked and it is breaking our heart. J. Cole is a 48 pound bundle of energy, you should see this boy when he gets the zoomies, they are pretty epic. The good news is he can self entertain if given a small yard and a toy; his antics make us laugh as he will talk to his toy and toss it in the air while chasing it. He loves to be active and thinks that everyone should want to take him for a walk. J. Cole is a little hard to picture as he is always on the move. He does really like belly rubs and will flip right over for them. This pet is available for adoption on 3/10/23 and is located at the Yakima Humane Society. Story
Meet Karla, a 1-year-old female Pit Bull Terrier mix.Karla arrived at the adoption center after being reported to animal control as a stray. Karla has obviously not being getting the care she needs. She is currently only 38 pounds but should be much heavier. Karla was fearful when she was brought in and didn't understand what the staff wanted from her. She does get vocal and back away when she is confused or scared. Karla has done well with the staff caring for her. When she was taken out for pictures she came right to the front of her kennel for the leash and was happy to get kisses. Karla has met a small dog at the adoption center and done well but it is always best for adopted animals to meet all other dogs in the home prior to leaving the shelter. Karla did great in one of the office at the shelter. She gets playful and can be a little mouthy so young children should not play with her until she is trained more. Karla is going to be very beautiful once she fills out more and has a chance to learn to trust people. She is likely to be vocal at anyone coming near her home so will make a great alarm system but is not a guard dog! This pet is available for adoption on 4/13/23 and is located at the Yakima Humane Society. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org.
