Story
ntroducing Nani (pronounced No Ne). This sweet girl is a 4 year old American pitbull terrier. She does well around dogs and we were told she does well around cats as well. Nani loves to snuggle and her foster family describes her as so well behaved. She is also potty trained and kennel trained as well. She knows commands including: sit, lay down, wait, stay and go potty. Nani was surrendered to us because the little people in her previous home did not respect her boundaries and she did not appreciate that. We were informed Nani did not initiate poor behavior and it was always a reaction to poor behavior made by the humans. Respecting a dog’s boundaries should be the rule NOT the exception for EVERY dog! Nani has shown ZERO acts of poor behavior in her foster home due to her humans respect her space! Nani can be a little fearful around strangers, especially men but with patience, she comes around. Her foster family describes her as just a sweet girl. Nani does have chicken and seasonal allergies which are controlled with avoidance of chicken products and daily medication and also luxating patellas (knee caps which pop out of place sometimes). The luxating patellas will just need to be monitored at this time. She also suffers joint pain, which she is on and will need to stay on daily glucosamine supplements.

Story
Pebbles has had a hard start to life. She came into the shelter with a broken leg, unfortunately it had already been broken for 3-4 weeks so she needed an amputation. She does really well getting around, she is still working on building up her muscle so she is able to take longer walks and run more. Pebbles has been around other dogs, however, she does not like sharing her toys so that is something that will need to be managed in a home. She is very affectionate, doesn't mind being held, and is a big snuggler. Pebbles loves ALL toys and treats. Story
I am a goofy happy go lucky guy. I came into NAS as a stray so my past is unknown. I have been working on my leash manners and they have been improving SIGNIFICANTLY ( staff no longer is worried about losing an arm). I have recently been introduced to other dogs and it turns out that I am a social butterfly. I am very food motivated. Staff think I may be a bit of a water dog because I have tried a time or two to jump into the retention pond while going for walks. Puddles are also very exciting. Story
Beautiful Aspen is our resident bunny-rabbit! Look at those amazing ears!!! Aspen is incredibly sweet and friendly, and playful to boot! She's a little shy initially, but she warms up quickly and then she wants to do everything with you. Play with a toy, snuggle, get her belly rubbed... you name it and Aspen wants to be beside you. Or on top of you- her favorite "go to" move is to lay belly up on a volunteer's lap! It's her signature lounge position and it always brings out huge smiles and belly-laughs! Aspen is 100% love. Our caretakers cherish her cuddles. She's great with children. She looooves playtime with other dogs in the yard. Pretty Aspen is pretty fantastic. She will be a phenomenal companion to a very lucky family! Please apply online to meet her!
