Story
Hello! Barnabas here! I am a handsome, 80# pit mix, with a heart full of love. I'm told I look rather distinguished with all the silver hair in my coat. I have pearly white teeth, so no one knows for sure how old I am. A man of mystery! I love being with people, especially children. I'm friendly with other dogs, unless they are high energy, dominant males. I am also very gentle when taking treats and not at all possessive about my food or toys. My foster mom says I'm an AMAZING walking partner! Once I get to know you, I even have a silly, playful side. I hope my adopter likes going on long walks with me! If you'd like to meet me, please contact The Hope Highway.

Story
Leona is a sweet, affectionate, and fun loving approximately 2-year-old pup. Her energy level is medium as she enjoys playtime with both people and other dogs but also enjoys a good nap after doing so. She is happy to entertain herself with toys if needed. She is very respectful of children and older people although sometime gets very excited and jumps so very small children may not be the best idea initially. Her ideal home would include another dog that has a similar energy level and someone to continue basic obedience training. She is potty trained and does great in the crate. She is the most gentle treat taker also! Things she is still practicing: Not pulling on leash Four on the floor Things she excels at: Playing with other dogs and taking cues Snuggling when tired Sitting on command Things she enjoys: Chewing on hard toys Tearing up stuffies ☺ Leona dreams of lots of love with her forever family and she has promised to give back that love 10 fold. She’s a true saved soul who wants to prove to the world she is capable of anything. Dog seller license # 403072

Story
Meet Harper!! Harper is working hard to become a more confident dog. She is currently anxious and skiddish around the humans in her house. Given time, patience, and understanding, we are confident Harper will be worth the wait! Her ideal home will include plenty of spaces were she can feel safe, humans who understand that she will take time to warm up, a doggy pal that can show her the world isn't scary, and a fenced in yard as she is always looking for a way to escape. She also needs help in continuing her potty training as she still is not able to hold it for a long time. We are currently working with our vet to fund medications that will help her feel more comfortable in her surroundings. We would like her future adopter to continue working with the vet to help find the right treatment as she continues to grow and learn! Most of all Harper needs time, space, and humans that will show her all the love and compassion she deserves!

Story
Meet Barley! This fun loving, playful guy is looking for a foster or forever home! Barley is 1 year old pitbull mix. He’s around 50 pounds, neutered and up to date on all of his vaccines. Barley gets along with dogs AND cats! He’s still a puppy at heart so he will need some patience and direction. Barley LOVES to play so children 10+ would be best for him. His ideal home would include another dog who matches his energy level or someone who is willing to keep him active through play or walks. Don’t get us wrong, he does enjoy to rest as the pictures show, but he also enjoys his play time! If you’re interested in fostering or adopting Barley, please apply at: https://linktr.ee/uudogrescue

This brindle beauty is in search of a family to revolve her world around. Lola Jean loves hard and seeks affection from her humans. She has been working hard on basic obedience and leash walking and is attending training classes with her foster mom. Lola does best with slow intros to other dogs, but once she's comfortable, she enjoys playing with dogs that match her energy level. She loves to be outside playing fetch, tug of war, and splashing in her kiddie pool. She is takes treats very gently, is potty trained, and crate trained.

Story
As we highlight our Nervous Nelly puppies today, we can't forget Paisley! Paisley came from the same situation as Kyra back in November. Like Kyra and Hola, Paisley has been very slow and hesitant to trust people but absolutely loves other dogs. Paisley on the other hand, does seem to be taking a few extra steps in the right direction so far but that doesn't mean we're out of the weeds yet. Very recently Paisley has started following the other dogs into the fenced portion of the yard, and doing great at doing her business while out there! That's not to say we still don't have our share of accidents indoors. But, it has been a massive improvement. Paisley even looks and starts to come inside when foster mom calls for her and her friends. The key is Though, do not stand next to the door when she wants in. Avert your eyes and pay no mind or she'll run the other way! Our new favorite pastime is snuggles on the couch. Her massive milestone was not only no longer running away if foster mom came to sit down too. But, now Paisley will hop up on the couch when her foster is already sitting down! Once she even sees the other dogs getting extra attention, Paisley slowly wiggles her way closer hoping for loving too. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Just don't make it too obvious. She's more nervous than a teenager on a first date. Paisley will gladly take treats and seems to forget she's a scary cat, if you're enjoying a snack to yourself by her. Her daily enjoyment comes from antagonizing the crabby dogs here. The louder and grumpier they yell, the better! Like the others, Paisley will need a very very patient and understanding home. A fenced yard will be needed as she will not move an inch on a leash yet. You might as well tie off to a boat anchor. &#226&#154&#147&#239&#184&#143 adoption fee 400.00 September 11, 2024, 10:26 pm
