Story
Have you lapsed on that New Years resolution to go for more walks, spend more time in nature, or become a runner? Are you looking for an accountability buddy to stop you from saying, "Eh, maybe next year?" Our girl Nova would love nothing more than to be the one who's by your side every step of the way on those walks, hikes, runs, or any other dog-friendly physical activities. If you're looking for motivation, then Nova is looking for you! Nova is current on her vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. Her personality can be summed up with three words: Athletic, Confident, and EXTROVERTED! Staff and volunteers say that there is no one that Nova doesn't want to meet, and of course, play with. Nova's energy level is certainly a 9 out of 10. Of course she'll be ready for some good cuddles once she gets her surplus of energy out, but she is still a large older puppy on the very cusp of adulthood! She is working on her housetraining, with quite a bit of success! In any new environment she will require some patience as she adjusts to a new routine. She should do well in a home with children of all ages given proper introductions and appropriate supervision at first, considering her large size and energy level. Due to her exuberant playstyle, she is required to meet any future dog siblings, as some dogs may not tolerate her love for rough-housing. We are unsure how Nova would do with cats. Nova's favorite activities include: Playing with any and all toys (Especially rope toys), running like the wind, chasing her tail, and getting her butt scratched. Things she'll need to work on include: manners on leash, realizing her size/strength, and basic commands. She knows Sit, Down, Speak, and is working on "Shake." She also knows her name, and comes when she is called! Doggy Day Out Notes: "Nova did so well on her Doggy Day Out. She went for a short run, got a pup cup, and went for a walk. She has lots of energy! She’s also a very social pup and wanted to greet everyone we walked by. She loves people and pets! She’s a bit scared in the car and not a super big fan of other dogs, but she does very well around younger kids! Nova also knows sit and shake, and she sits so pretty if she knows there’s a treat. Nova is a great dog!" "Nova is the sweetest girl ever! I can’t express enough how amazing and calm she is! Nova is very curious and loves to smell everything when we went on walks! She greeted everyone with a smile and received lots of love throughout the day:) She is a big fan a treats and is very well trained on sit and shake. She was unfazed about seeing dogs on our walks and enjoyed hanging around large groups of people. Nova especially loved laying in the yard soaking up the sun!" "Today nova and I went on 3 walks! Unfortunately it was raining, but that didn’t stop us. We curled up together on my bed and practiced some tricks. Nova was very eager to please! I was very much expecting nova to be very high energy, but part way through the day, her whole demeanor changed and she calmed down. From today’s experience, I feel that she gets excited when meeting new people and doing new things, but calms down relatively fast and fully relaxes. Nova practiced her tricks and was very eager to please." "Nova did a very good on the adventure we took her on. She didn’t pull on the leash too much, kept pace with us, and didn’t bark at other hikers. When we took her too meet others, she was super friendly and playful. Everyone was so happy to be with her outside. She laid next to us while we had lunch and took a nap after the hike. Hopefully she sleeps well tonight! Thank you guys!" "Took a minute to acclimate but overall a great dog! She’s super fun and energetic, can be stubborn and likes to do things her way but was generally good about staying on sidewalks and trails and being redirected during walks. Did like to eat grass/dirt but did decent with most redirections. Did great with commands especially with treats. Only one time was she really “naughty”, she started trying to bite her leash and wouldn’t let go, but after burning the energy out at a dog park she did great on her walk for the trail after! Overall a very spirited and bright dog! It was a lot of fun spending a day with her!" Any special needs: Dog Meet Required Nova's adoption fee is: $300 *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Hi there, my name is Lulu! I'm a 10 year-old spayed female Pit Bull Terrier. I am current on my vaccinations, microchipped and heartworm negative! 3 words that describe me: Cuddly, Spunky, SweetThings my foster has to say about me: She's getting used to car rides and love pup-cups. She love walks and is SO GOOD with kids, even in groups. She seems to have a bit of prey drive (likes to chase after squirrels and bunnies in the backyard) She's such a sweetie and is definitely becoming one of our favs! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6/10Housetraining Status: I was good at keeping my kennel clean but my foster mom says I need work on my potty training in my home. I'm getting used to my routine though!I should do well in a home: I should do well with children of all ages given proper supervision in the beginning. I should do well with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust because I did well in playgroups at CRHS. But, my friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats since I chase squirrels and bunnies in my foster home. My favorite activities are: I LOVE snuggling up with my humans and being involved in what they do. I love going for walks and really enjoy sitting out in the sunshine! Things I need work on are: Potty training routineDoggy day out notes: "Lulu is an nice and easy going dog. When on our walk she stayed by me and paid little mind to the 2 dogs that passed us and other adults. She did great in the car too. At Pet Smart we didn’t see any other dogs and the staff liked her. She allowed them to pet her. Overall, Lulu had a great day and is a relaxed, easy going dog."My adoption fee is: $250*If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Hi there, I'm Unity! I'm a 4-month-old female pit bull terrier. I am current on my vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Playful, Curious, Affectionate Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I love running around being a cute little puppy and playing with my siblings. I should make a great companion in any home. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 5/10 Housetraining Status: I am a puppy so I am working on it! I should do well in a home: I should do well with children of all ages given proper supervision. I should do well with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. My friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats. My favorite activities are: I love playing with my foster sister Toulouse. We have a great time together playing, chasing, and cuddling afterwards! Things I need work on are: I am a puppy so I will need to work on my housetraining, basic commands, and leash walking. Words from Unity's Foster: "Unity is settling in wonderfully. She gets along with Toulouse and is such a sweet and playful girl. Doesn't mind the crate, loves to snuggle, and seems to be 75% potty trained already. She wants to go outside and gives cues of when she needs to go. Rode in the car nicely and doesn't beg. Mostly quiet so it's a surprise when she does use her voice. " Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: "She was super good overall. She was super sweet and cuddly. We are super impressed with how good of a walker she was for being so young. She didn’t need much direction at all. She didn’t nibble at all. She only barked a few times at the rocks. She’s very curious but not overly so. Loved her!!" "Unity was such a sweetheart. She was active outside on this beautiful day! She then got very sleepy and took a nap in my lap 🥺 so precious." Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $350 Training Requirement if applicable: $100 *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Turbodrive is current on his vaccines, heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped. 3 words that describe him: Energetic, playful, and friendly Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: "Turbodrive truly lives up to his name, because this boy is a ball of energy! He gets so excited when someone approaches to give him attention, loves toys, and loves his butt scratches! His fur is also shockingly soft." Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 7/10 Housetraining Status: Working on it, but with a consistent routine and some initial patience, he should have it down in no time! He should do well in a home with dogs and kids of all ages, given proper introductions. We are unsure of how he would do with cats. His favorite activities are running around, chasing toys, and getting tons of love. Things he needs to work on are: Housetraining and basic commands Doggy Day Out Notes: "Turbo was a great dog today. In leash manners, he does pull a bit initally due to excitement, but progressed and did better after 20 minutes. He loved going on walks and would make a good jogging partner. He is unphased by some construction we walked past which was a plus. Overall, he is energetic, chill, and happy-go-lucky guy for being only 7 months." "Turbodrive went on a hike and he just wanted to keep moving besides pausing to sniff and listen to people and animals on the trails. We went on a walk and relaxed in the shade a bit on a college campus and he did well. Turbo's sit is solid but needs more work at the down and touch commands. He is also pretty good in the car and will lay down or hang out by your side." "Turbo was such a sweetheart. Definitely has puppy energy but wanted to be next to us the whole time. He loved finding sticks on our walk and just laying down to chew on them even when they were bigger than him. He seems like a smart boy who will learn everything quickly with repetition! I also think he will be so loyal to his people. Such a cute sweet boy!"
