Story
This cat is named Lady. She is an Adult cat, and beautiful like snow. Approximately 6 years old. She was originally loved and cared for by a woman who struggled with substance abuse that led to her and another cat being evicted from apartment after apartment. They were living on the streets before they came to this current foster home. There are dogs in the home that chase cats so its not the best fit which is why they are seeking their forever home. The cats grew up together so could be adopted as a pair or separately. Lady is very shy and since she got spayed she's pretty quiet unless she thinks you missed mealtime. She just needs a little extra time to warm up to someone so having that understanding with her and patience would be great. She is very sweet once she feels comfortable with you. She does play chase with the other cat she came with. Please feel free to ask questions if you or someone you know is interested!

Flare loves her cat friends! People..not so much. She would do great in an adult only home with other cats. She prefers not to be handled but she is young so that could change in time with the right setting. She is very playful and fun to watch.

Story
Maggie Mae is shy but curious 4 year old spayed female who was brought into us terrified in a massive dog crate. After that traumatizing experience, Maggie has been slow to open up, but she has been making progress! She seeks out treats from us and is interested in our hands when we rest them in the cage, though she's still nervous if we move too quickly. She adores our other cats and will come up to the bars to chirp when we have other cats loose in the room. She's a great girl with a lot of potential who just needs someone who'll be willing to give her that extra bit of work to help her blossom. Maggie Mae is spayed and up to date on her vaccines. Peek a boo! Who's that? It's Emmett! Emmett is a shy boy who has not been a fan of shelter life. He's getting braver every day but is still very unsure of people. Emmet is three years old and would do best in a home with another cat to help him adjust and come out of his shell. For more information on Emmett, call AWS at 860-354-1350 email animalwelfare.socty@snet.net or visit our website aws-shelter.org for an application Adoption Fees for Senior cats (8yrs and up) is $50 Adult Cats $200 and Kittens under a year $250.

Story
Wilson is an adorable tabby and the only boy in a litter of four kittens and is definitely the “big brother” of the group. He came to our rescue as a young kitten who apparently had little exposure to humans but quickly grew to love affection and attention. Now, he turns on the purr machine as soon as he sees a human. He is playful and adventurous and is eager to provide a lifetime of entertainment. He would make a fantastic companion as a solo cat or can join a family with other animals. He can also be adopted with one of his sisters, Shoshana or Jinx.October 21, 2025, 12:01 pm
