Story
Lucy's Bio Meet Lucy, a charming female Staffordshire Terrier with a cocoa-colored coat and striking yellow eyes. At approximately 2-3 years old and weighing between 70 to 75 pounds, Lucy is the embodiment of a well-mannered and loving companion, ready to bring joy and warmth to any home. Personality Traits Lucy is the epitome of a gentle and affectionate dog. Her well-trained nature makes her a wonderful indoor companion, as she is extremely well potty trained and loves lounging in a cozy spot. Lucy enjoys being close to her family, often joining them in bed for cuddles. Her gentle demeanor shines through when she accepts treats, taking them delicately from your hand without lunging. Lucy is known for her expressive "hungry eyes" when you eat, but her impeccable manners ensure she never becomes a nuisance. She adores having the middle of her chest rubbed and will gently nudge your arm with her paw when she seeks attention. Training and Abilities Lucy is not only loving but also highly intelligent and well-trained. She knows the seven basic commands: sit, stay, down, come, heel, off, and no. Additionally, she responds to hand signal commands for sit, stay, come, and down. Lucy understands phrases like "not for you," "kennel/inside," and "with me" while on a leash. Although she is generally well-behaved on a leash, she may occasionally pull when excited. Socialization and Play Lucy is a loving and playful companion towards humans and gets along with smaller dogs, though she may be a bit stand-offish with larger dogs. She has a fondness for her toys, especially when playing fetch with a ball. While she knows the "drop it" command, she can sometimes be a bit stubborn, requiring a gentle reminder to release her toys. Care and Protection Lucy is easygoing during bath time, handling it with calmness and grace. Her protective instincts make her an excellent guard dog, vigilant in defending her territory and ensuring the safety of her home and family. With her loving heart and well-mannered nature, Lucy is ready to become a cherished part of your family, bringing joy, protection, and companionship to your life.   If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please go to our website   https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/     and fill out an application. Story
Ruben is a typical puppy: energetic, curious, and mouthy. He craves attention and affection. Ruben is moderately crate trained. As a puppy, he is better off with blankets in his crate.  He loves playing with toys but needs some attention in terms of just being with people and getting more socialized.  When he is calm after some play, he is very sweet. He has an intense stare and is likely a great candidate for scent work. He is super agile and loves to run fast. He can actually entertain himself with a variety of things in the yard.  He was found in an orchard field... and not much around to sustain him. So, he is in need of love and care to round out his early struggles. But, he is young, and is learning quickly basic commands.November 6, 2024, 2:40 pm

Story
Rocky is a puppy with a heart of gold. At just six months old, he's already lived a lifetime filled with loyalty, love, and resilience. This adorable slate-colored pup is as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside. Sweet, gentle, affectionate, and great with everyone he meets, kids, dogs, cats, and even guinea pigs! Rocky is a survivor. He lived in Skid Row, where life was harsh and uncertain, yet his heart remained pure. He followed his owner into the blazing sun, refusing to leave his side. That’s the kind of soul Rocky embodies: loyal beyond measure, devoted to the very end. But that wasn’t the life he was meant for; Rocky deserves so much more. A cozy bed, a loving family, and a life filled with joy and safety. He is ready now: ready for love, ready for a forever home, and ready to give you his whole heart. Whoever brings Rocky into their life is gaining a best friend, a faithful shadow, and a joyful, playful companion. He truly is the perfect dog, just waiting to bless the lucky family that says yes. Rocky has been living in a foster home for a few weeks and has been nothing short of perfect. You’d think he’s always lived in a home—he has impeccable manners, he’s housebroken, and he fits in seamlessly with the rhythm of family life. His foster says he’s a dream. Rocky is fully vetted, vaccinated, housebroken, neutered, and healthy. *Please submit an inquiry to learn more about Rocky and ensure you leave a working phone number where we can reach you.

Story
Teddy is a special boy with soft, taupe-brindled fur and sparkly green eyes that stop people in their tracks. He’s that perfect blend of handsome and heart. A gentle, silly soul who’s happiest lounging in the sunshine or cruising around town in the car. You’ll usually find him curled up on his outdoor bed, soaking in the world with the calm confidence of a dog who knows how to enjoy the simple things. To help you get to know him better, here’s a quick interview with Teddy himself: 1. When I grow up, I want to be: An astronaut. I’m very brave and love exploring (as long as I’m home in time for dinner). 2. If I were a food, I’d be: A coconut — tough on the outside, sweet on the inside. Or a sack of potatoes, because I’m a total couch spud. 3. Favorite place I’ve visited: A lap. Any lap. Yours will do just fine. 4. Drama Club or Marching Band? Mmm... I was hoping for Beach Club. 5. Social butterfly or homebody? I love people, but my heart belongs to sunbeams, soft beds, and staying close to home. Teddy is goofy in the best way and sometimes forgets how big he is, so he’d do best in a home with older kids who can match his energy and respect his space. He’s well-trained, easygoing, and ready to be your loyal shadow. Teddy is very well-trained and knows how to be a good boy, but like many sensitive souls, he thrives best as the only pet in the home. No other dogs, no cats. Just Teddy and his people, living their best lives together. He’ll give you his whole heart and be your loyal companion through it all. If you’re looking for a true companion, someone who makes you laugh, keeps you company, and always looks good doing it, Teddy might be your guy. One thing’s for sure: you won’t get far without someone stopping to ask about that gorgeous brindled boy by your side. Teddy is three years old, fully vetted, vaccinated, neutered, and in great health — he’s ready to go home and start his next chapter with someone who sees just how special he is. **To learn more about this amazing dog, please send us a message! Story
Are you my new forever family? Some dogs stick with you, and Cynthia is one of those dogs. At first glance, she may look like an average black Staffie mix—but don’t let that fool you; she's got that perfect blend of sweetness, silliness, smarts, and snuggles, with just the right amount of sass to keep you laughing. She’s about a year old and full of life and love. Cynthia is doing great on her leash, and when it comes to treats, let’s say she’s got world-class snack skills. But what makes her truly special is her personality—so quirky and completely lovable.  She’s got a raspy little bark and makes these funny “gargoyle” sounds when she’s being dramatic (which is often). And if she’s a little grumpy? Out comes her Marge Simpson-style grumble. You can’t help but laugh—she’s pure entertainment. With her blocky head, flying nun ears, and a shiny black coat that somehow looks extra cute in lavender and teal (yes, she’s got signature colors), she's perfect. It breaks our hearts that black dogs like Cynthia often get overlooked because she’s here to prove that her heart and spirit are so much more than the color of her fur. Cynthia loves to play, but loves snuggles even more. She’s good with other dogs, chill around cats, and would fit into lots of different kinds of homes, as long as there’s love, some structure, and someone who sees just how special she is. She’s waiting, watching, hoping… Are you my forever home?  Are you the one who will see past the color of my coat and into the goofy, gentle, wonderful heart inside?  Cynthia is healthy, fully vetted, vaccinated, spayed, and ready to go home.  Interested? Message us or submit an inquiry—and don’t forget to leave a working phone number so we can reach you!
