Story
Ozzy is a lovable 7 year old male Terrier mix. He has the sweetest personality (with people he knows) and is very smart too! Ozzy completed an 8 week program learning basic and intermediate obedience with some fun tricks thrown in! He would do best in a quiet home with very few visitors. Ozzy can take some time to warm up to a new person but once you gain his trust he will be your best friend. He is a very sweet boy and a volunteer favorite. Ozzy is ready to join his furever home, will that be with you?

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Resident since April 2018Hello, my name is Amora. I have been told how beautiful I am, and I cannot deny that it's the truth:)  I have been at PRBJ for over 5 years waiting for my forever home.  I know that is a really long time, more than half of my life. I am a great girl just ask anyone at the rescue center. I need time to get to know a person and trust them, but once I do, I will love you forever. I never forget those that love me.  I am a little older now and really would just like a home that I can relax with my human. I am good on the leash, but really don't like going too far...but maybe if I had a great person to walk me and keep me safe, I would enjoy walking.  I DO NOT like other animals (cats, dogs, birds, squirrels, etc), so my ideal home would need to pet free.... although I think I wouldn't mind a fish. I DO NOT like new people, so I would need a home that only has 1-2 ADULTS ONLY with very limited traffic in order to keep me and them safe. Please don't let any of this discourage you from wanting to adopt me. I know the right person is out there and the staff at the center is willing to work with us to ensure I get to the right home. It will take time for you to come in and meet me a few times, but I can guarantee I am worth it.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 7, 2024, 5:49 am

Story
Cheez is a 5-year-young healthy 30-pound Boxer mix looking for his forever home. While his early life is unknown to us we do know he has had it rough. We got him from a high-kill shelter the day he was to be put down. He was then adopted by a family but sadly, he was returned to us in the same year. His family moved to the west coast and were unable to take him. Personal observations: he seems to prefer short walks and is good with being inside or outside for short periods. He walks well on a leash. He is a great guard dog and alerts to strangers quickly however he is not a noisy dog and seldom barks unless there’s a reason. Cheez likes his toys, lounging on the couch, in his dog house getting treats and belly rubs. He looks at you with his great golden Eyes and you know he loves you he will give you high fives and stand on his back legs to hug you. Cheez is a great loving dog, you won’t be disappointed. Meet and greets with family a must…at home meet greets available. Always keep in mind patience is a must…a new dog given time to adjust will always be a loving and valuable family member. His adoption donation is $100 which includes his neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. He is heartworm-negative and on monthly preventative. He finally had a loving home and now he is back with us wondering why. He has been through so much and deserves to be loved and spoiled. Please come and meet him! http://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/Project/cheez/ We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida. We have a page on our website that explains our adoption process, and contains a link to our adoption application. Here is the link: http://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/adoption-information-2/

Story
***LOCATED IN HOWEY IN THE HILLS, FL*** Meet Brie- INSTANT COMPANION!   This baby girl was 'DUMPED' - a Good Sam found her in the woods, in deplorable condition and took her to his vet for a bath, a microchip-check and an overall check-up.  She was chipped but the contact info was obsolete, and records reflected this same family as having dumped another dog. Brie has a sweet temperament - is gentle, loves toys - has the heart and activity level of a 4-year old, but the Vet is guessing her to be around 7-8 years old.  She is a Boxer/Terrier mix, and weighs about 55 lbs.  She is in a temporary foster home with several cats - (confined because of the cats) and a couple other dogs who are not accepting of her, so we are anxious to get her into a new home - SOON.     She get along well with calmer dogs - but NO CATS!  Not sure about kids.   Her foster folks do not want to turn her in to a shelter for fear she will be euthanized - so we offered to help re-home her. Seems the shelters in Central FL are all maxed out.   She is happy, healthy, up to date on all vaccines - spayed & chipped.     Her adoption fee will be $150.  She will come to you fully vetted, vaccinated, spayed and chipped.   If you are interested, please download an application from:  www.gratefulpaws.org or email jmilbyer@gmail.com for one.   NOTE: Adoption/rehoming fees are applied towards the vet bill: exam, blood tests, vaccinations, fecal, worming, spay/neuter, dental if necessary, and a microchip. There is rarely anything left over, but if that happens, the monies get applied to the next or previous pet - who may have had to have an x-ray, be groomed or have a dental.April 30, 2024, 5:10 pm
