Story
Pretty little bulldogyish Dumplin is ready for a couch and Home where she can relax. She spent the first 4 1/2 years of her life used as a breeding Mom. She was dropped off at the pound full of bite marks and emaciated. She has truly come so far! She is learning very quickly that she can trust people and they will give her back all the love she gives. She is dog and cat-friendly. She is also a stunning girl with her brindle/white coat. She is a short little peach, which makes her a nice size. Apply to meet this sweetie today!

Story
Meet Margot – or as her foster family lovingly calls her, “Sweet Lady Margot” – the hidden gem everyone has been missing out on! At around 2 years old, Margot has already mastered all the hard stuff—she’s fully housebroken, crate trained, walks like a pro on a leash, and has fantastic house manners. While the puppies steal all the attention, Margot just sits there with her big smile and silky, seal-colored fur thinking, “Why deal with all that chewing, potty training, and chaos when you could have ME?” She knows “sit,” is working on “stay” and “leave it,” and loves showing off how smart she is. Margot also has a favorite cow toy that she proudly carries around like her own emotional support cow—it’s the cutest thing ever! Margot is wonderful with adults and children alike, making her a great fit for just about any family. With dogs, she prefers slow introductions, but once she warms up, she’s all in—she and her foster dog sibling are now best buds. Margot is the perfect mix of playful sidekick and professional snuggler. Whether you’re heading out for a walk or curling up on the couch, she just wants to be by your side. She’s sweet, silly, easygoing, and basically the whole package—how she hasn’t had a single meet-and-greet yet is beyond us! Whoever scoops up Margot is going to hit the jackpot. Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.

Story
Tyrion is the most amazing love bug. We had a new dog brought into our family with a new family member and they do not get along, he’s is the sweetest boy and it very well behaved. He should not be in a home with other dogs and preferably not cats or kids. He should be the only pet with an experienced owner ready to give him all the love. He is 10 years old but has the personality and joy of a 5 year old! He just needs some true time and love. I would still love to remain in contact and get all the pictures in videos!

Story
Looking for the Right Home for Our Beloved Boy ❤️ This is one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever made. Our 7-year-old American Staffy/Boxer mix is deeply loved, but as our family grows, we feel finding a home better suited to his needs is the safest choice for everyone. He is incredibly loyal, affectionate, goofy, and devoted to the people he trusts. Once you’re his person, he’ll be your shadow, cuddle buddy, and self-appointed home security system. Honest disclosure: he is not comfortable with other animals and has bitten dogs in the past. He can be fearful of some men and has nipped before. He needs an experienced owner, no young children, and a home where he is the only pet. We believe he’d thrive with a single woman or a patient couple who can provide a calm, structured environment. He’s crate trained, does well on walks, and has so much love to give. We aren’t rehoming him because we don’t love him—we’re doing it because we do. Finding the right home is our top priority. ❤️

Story
Billy, Billy, Billy! The favorite amongst police officers. Our baby boy is the most handsome guy with piercing greyish eyes and a personality as big as the moon! Billy was a stray that was never claimed and sat for months in the police station. We were luckily able to find a great foster home for him and he has now completed 8 sessions of training with our hand-picked trainer for manners and leash walking. He will need continued work on greeting people and leash walking - FYI. He knows sit, kennel, paw, stay, and down and is house-trained, crate-trained and is working on a release command. Billy is a foodie and his favorite things to eat are....STRAWBERRIES AND BLUEBERRIES! This dude loves people and he especially loves his human foster sister who is 8 yrs old. He is good with kids and loves to be in the center of their shenanigans. He isn't fond of other animals so he must be in a home with no other dogs or cats. Children should be sturdy or 5 and up. He is known to steal kids toys as his own, but my mom always said that if its on the floor, its fair game! The human neighbors like to play with Billy over the fence. He brings his ball to the fence where the neighbor will pick up and throw the ball for hours with him. Billy likes to Netflix and nap, get belly rubs, play fetch, and eat chicken jerky! Billy also has some funny quirks - he makes alien sounds, likes to flip his water bowl or food bowl to let you know he's empty, he will let you know he has to potty when he won't get out of your personal space. Billy is learning to be less mouthy - so an assortment of chew toys, non-rawhide bones and licky mats are a must.
