AVAILABLE NOW- I am in Lake County, Illinois awaiting my forever family. My name is Russ and I am a 1 year old Staffie mix. I am a super sweet and social little boy. I love doggie daycare and my foster family is awesome. I weigh about 40 lbs, so on the smaller side. I am a big baby, I mean puppy! I love to play hard and then nap hard. I love all dogs and get along great with my 2 foster sisters. I also love all people of all sizes! I am very friendly, so sweet and love to cuddle. I know basic training and I have been walking well on a leash with my foster mom and dad. I am housebroken and I am a good listener. My foster parents say I am smart and a fast learner! I will come with the works (Neutered, spayed, up to date on everything, micro chipped, fecal, heart worm tested if age appropriate, heartworm, flea and tick prevented, a free vet visit and medical insurance). What more could a new family ask for? For more information on me and an adoption application please contact my rescue at adoptions@wagginghearts.org. Looking forward to meeting you!! Russel

Story
This funky little man is Leo. He is a happy, goofy boy who loves attention. Leo looks like a pit but short and long, which makes him even more lovable! He rolls around for pets and hugs and prefers to be a velcro dog 90% of the time. He is people-friendly and dog friendly. He would need to be tested with cats. Leo is right at 50lbs and is around 4 years old. He's hoping for someone who is active and is willing to work on leash manners and jumping.

Story
So I got Kobe from a dog trainer friend in the middle of the pandemic (February 2021) he might’ve been around 8-10 weeks old at the time. Since then he’s grown into a huge 80 pound baby dog who loves cuddles, kisses, playing fetch, and back leg scratches. Somewhat of a comedian too. I’ve taken him to the vet and they said he has a heart murmur that needs to be monitored regularly. He is not neutered, and he has a fear aggression towards other human adults. I’m looking to rehome him because I just moved from my family home into a small apartment by myself and it’s been really difficult for me to maintain his everyday care and needs. He might be better fit for an experienced big dog owner who has a family with a fenced in yard. He still needs training for the fear aggression but that’s pretty much it. He’s house trained, potty trained, knows commands like sit, stay, cage (crate), meal call etc…, Great with baths, walks, and small children.

Story
Nike Sinclair has front leg deformity in both limbs and requires a foster home in order for the rescue to start medical care. He needs to be seen by an Orthopedic Specialist to determine a diagnosis and prognosis on his limbs. Whether he has surgery or not, he will need to attend therapy and the foster will be taught how to do the therapeutic exercises at home for him. From what the shelter in Louisiana says, he is mobile, very friendly with dogs and people. He has not been neutered, but has been given his first round of vaccines. You must be "in it to win it" by fostering this dog. If you can foster please complete an application at www.k9ei.dog or email info@k9ei.dog to discuss.

Story
Hi my name is Lilly! I am a professional lap dog and love to cuddle but I am also down for a play session when you get home. I am a thrill seeker and a go-getter when it comes to playing with new toys. I do have to say, I don't chew on anything but my own toys. I am fully potty trained and crate trained. I already know some tricks, and I really do enjoy learning new ones for treats! I love long walks and I walk well on leash. My foster doesn't have a fence and takes me for plenty walks! All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. PCH supports a 21-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
Billy, Billy, Billy! The favorite amongst police officers. Our baby boy is the most handsome guy with piercing greyish eyes and a personality as big as the moon! Billy was a stray that was never claimed and sat for months in the police station. We were luckily able to find a great foster home for him and he has now completed 8 sessions of training with our hand-picked trainer for manners and leash walking. He will need continued work on greeting people and leash walking - FYI. He knows sit, kennel, paw, stay, and down and is house-trained, crate-trained and is working on a release command. Billy is a foodie and his favorite things to eat are....STRAWBERRIES AND BLUEBERRIES! This dude loves people and he especially loves his human foster sister who is 8 yrs old. He is good with kids and loves to be in the center of their shenanigans. He isn't fond of other animals so he must be in a home with no other dogs or cats. Children should be sturdy or 5 and up. He is known to steal kids toys as his own, but my mom always said that if its on the floor, its fair game! The human neighbors like to play with Billy over the fence. He brings his ball to the fence where the neighbor will pick up and throw the ball for hours with him. Billy likes to Netflix and nap, get belly rubs, play fetch, and eat chicken jerky! Billy also has some funny quirks - he makes alien sounds, likes to flip his water bowl or food bowl to let you know he's empty, he will let you know he has to potty when he won't get out of your personal space. Billy is learning to be less mouthy - so an assortment of chew toys, non-rawhide bones and licky mats are a must. If you are interested in learning more about Billy the Kid, please reach out to elena_star87@yahoo.com or at fahpr@att.net! Location: Dunning Neighborhood (Northwest Chicago) *Must be within 2 hours of Chicago
