Story
I’m a beautiful white pit bull with the biggest smile and heart you’ve ever seen. I don’t know why, but someone decided they didn’t want me anymore and left me — all the way from Akron to the west side of Cleveland. I’m not sure what I did wrong, because I promise I’m a good girl. When my foster mom found me, I hopped right into her car (because I love going for rides!). She soon learned I’d already been spayed and microchipped, which is how she discovered I came from Akron. I’m about three years old, full of love, and always happy. I adore people and make a wonderful protector. I bark when someone comes to the door or near the house — just to let my family know I’ve got their back! I’m great with kids (as long as they’re gentle — no ear pulling, please!). I get along well with some male dogs, but I haven’t met many female dogs yet, so I’m not sure how that would go. My foster mom took great care of me — I’m dewormed, on flea and tick prevention, and feeling healthy and strong. I do get very excited when people come over, and sometimes I jump a bit too much… we’re working on that! Oh, and one more thing — I love pitty-safe toys. I go through toys fast (these jaws mean business!), but I promise it’s all part of my fun-loving charm. This boy is ridiculous! He is ridiculously hilarious. Ridiculously charming. Ridiculously handsome. August is just ridiculously AMAZING! Looks, personality, the whole 9 yards 😊He is so darn cute and adorable he’ll have you breaking into a huge smile just looking at him, his face, the way he joyfully prances towards you. August is the ‘let’s frolic in the flowers’, ‘let’s be happy’ kinda guy. There isn’t much critical thinking going on in that adorable block head of his. He doesn’t bark, doesn’t cause a ruckus even if there are commotions going on around him. He simply goes about his business or just quietly sits and observes the ruckus without chiming in. August is amazing with everyone and every dog. He wants to be everyone’s and every dog’s BFF. August makes a wonderful work from home buddy. He will lay quietly in his bed beside you while you type away, trying to meet those numbers and keystrokes. August is so amazing, even Taylor Swift wrote a song titled August :D This kid has me seriously wrapped around his adorable paws. August has a little limp in his left back leg from an old injury but that does not stop him from living the perfect life he is meant to live! No medical attention needed now. August is a 2-year-old, 70lb Pittie. He is looking for a home who embraces his goofiness. Play time, outdoor activities and cuddles are on his checklist. He is a leaner and lover of attention and affection ❤ Kids, dogs in a home are welcome.

Meet Bonita, a sweet and silly mixed-breed girl with a heart full of love and about 44 pounds of pure joy. Estimated to be between one and two years old, Bonita was found as a stray and sadly never claimed. But her resilient, happy spirit hasn’t faded — she’s ready to bring her charm and snuggles into a new forever home. Bonita has a medium energy level and absolutely loves going for walks, though she can get a little excited and pull on the leash at times. She’s a total cannonball of affection — playful, goofy, and full of personality. Whether she’s zooming around the yard or rolling over for belly rubs, she’s always living in the moment and soaking up the love. Her love for life is truly contagious. She should be the only dog in the household. Because she can be a bit of a bowling ball when she plays, she’d do best in a home with older children. Bonita is not a match for homes with cats or small furry pets — she prefers her companions to be less... scurry. The great news is that Bonita is already house trained and crate trained, and she’s an absolute pro when it comes to snuggling. She’s available through our Foster to Adopt program, which means she can settle into your home while she completes her remaining vetting, including spay, microchip, heartworm testing, and updated vaccines. This sweet, precious sunflower is Honey— a silly, 5-yr-old cuddlebug with a huge heart and an even bigger personality. She was rescued two years ago, but due to financial hardship and changing living circumstances, her previous owner couldn’t keep her. I’ve stepped in to care for her these past few months, but I sadly can’t provide a permanent home as my elderly blind dog doesn’t tolerate other animals. Honey LOVES people—she’s gentle, social, affectionate, and a champion sunbather. She loves her mid-morning naps, enjoys playful bursts of energy, and likes to “yap” when she wants food, attention, or a trip outside. At ~80 lbs she may look tough but she’s really just a big marshmallow. She would thrive in a home with no other dogs, plenty of affection, and ideally a yard for zoomies and sun-soaking. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and has no health issues. If you’re looking for a loyal, sassy, snuggly best friend—Honey is your lover-girl. She’ll love you forever if you let her.

Sweet girl Ravenna has the best gene pool and the silliest personality! Bull Terrier, Husky, and perhaps some Bulldog 😊 The Bull Terrier characteristics are quite visible. From the silly screams when she is displeased or wants attention to the comical tippy tappy toes when she is excited. Sometimes she gets so upset at something you did that she gives you her back (or butt). She refuses to look at you, and all the time while screaming bloody murder because you had done something to upset her 😀 What a child! Those eyes, oh they will suck you in. One blue, one brown. Mesmerizing! Rav has amazing recall. She can be quite independent, exploring but no matter what she has going on, she comes every time you call. She comes and immediately leans in and expects butt scratches. That is all the reward she cares for! 😊 When meeting Rav for the first time, expect her to jump to greet you. That is her version of a hug. When on a walk with Rav, make sure you have a good hold on the leash. This girl is strong! Worse, she has prey drive so if she sees a prey animal, she will pull towards it. A Freedom Harness goes a long way! If you see dogs along your walk, be prepared for some ‘embarrassment’. The Bull Terrier in her screams in excitement, along with the tippy tappy toes. This could easily be interpreted as ‘aggressive’ by most people. We cannot blame them. It takes a Bull Terrier lover to recognize, understand and embrace all the silly Bull Terrier characteristics 😊 They are a silly breed. One thing to note is that Rav can be selective in the doggie friends she wants to have. Ravenna is 6.5 years old, 60lb Bull Terrier mix. She is looking for a family who understands Bull Terriers, who will laugh at her silly displays and be amused by her. Kids are welcome but beware; she can knock them over with her exuberance.

Sweet Baby wants to be your companion! She is chill and low maintenance (for the most part haha) if she isn’t being forward soliciting pets and leaning into your legs when getting pets. She is happiest when she is interacting with humans. She loves being a ‘turtle’ for back scratches. She will kick her back legs in the air because the feeling of being scratched is soooooo good! At 10 years old, Baby still enjoys long walks and light jogging/nighttime runs. After that, you can find her wiped out on the couch (or her bed) snoring extremely loudly, sometimes even howling in her sleep. Must be a good dream! 😊 Baby’s favorite TV show is SpongeBob. She listens intently to his conversations. Cute! Baby loves meeting people. She goes up to everyone she meets hoping to get pets (or treats. Cheese is her favorite). When you come home from work. Baby likes to greet you at the door. She immediately solicits belly rubs and butt scratches. Some of Baby’s ‘dislikes’ are car rides (she gets anxiety), loud noises (mostly door buzzers), her nails getting clipped and most importantly when people stop petting her. Baby is about 10 years old, 90lb Boxer mix. Baby is looking for a family that can provide her with a calm, quiet environment for her beauty sleep yet active enough where she gets her daily walks/jogs. Baby is great with everyone. She is house trained. She isn’t destructive in the home when left alone. She whines for a little bit when people leave but she settles quickly. Baby previously lived with 2 cats. Her previous family moved away and left her in the apartment.
