Story
Hi, I'm Ace! Age: Approx. 2 years Gender: Neutered Male Weight: 50 lbs Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier Mix Favorites: Toys, playing in the pool, treats Energy level: High Training: Knows command “sit” Other important info about me: I’m an active guy and needs a home where I can get daily exercise! I love the small pool they have here at the shelter, so maybe my new home could have a pool, or maybe we could go to the beach sometimes? But if not that’s ok too, I would just be happy to have a family that loves and plays with me! I probably play a little bit too rough for very young kids, but I get along well with older kids and adults. I haven’t been tested with dogs quite yet, so I would need to meet any potential canine family members before adoption. I haven’t been tested with cats at this time. If you are interested in adopting me, please submit an adoption inquiry through this listing, email mbas@montbelvieu.net, or call us at 281-214-9045!

Ladybug LOVES people, she has never met a stranger and identifies as a Lap dog. She is bouncy and energetic, but loves to snuggle and loves attention. She is pretty strong and is working on her leash manners, she rides very well in the car and is house and crate trained. She is smart and loves treats, especially Peanut Butter. She is learning how to run next to a bike for exercise - and while she loves to run short distances, she is "built for feed, not for speed". She is very friendly with all people she meets, is pretty exuberant when her family comes home, a.k.a. jumpy and is slowly learning to control that impulse. She is overall pretty quiet and only barks briefly at valid causes, like doorbell ringing. Ladybug is a little reactive when she first meets new dogs, mostly do to her excitement of meeting new dogs, and she bounces their energy back - if they are rude, so is she. She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, one she wants to play with (he doesn't) and the other she stays clear of (grumpy dog). She is interested in the cats, chases if they run, sniffs and walks away if they don't run. At this time she is looking for a home with a rather strong handler as she is a bit of a "house hippo" and pulls rather strong on the leash when walking.  ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet, as not all dogs come to all Meet and Greets*** ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***

Story
** Out of state transport can be arranged **"Zeus" is a 4-year-old dog of mixed ancestry. Abandoned at a dog boarding facility four years ago, "Zeus" is cared for by kennel staff. This handsome boy is looking for his permanent fur-ever home! When it's daily 15 mins. playtime he trots with a big 'ole grin directly from his kennel to the designated grassy area. After exploring the sights, sounds, and smells of the yard he's happy to relax under the shade of a tree. He enjoys soft surfaces such as sofas and beds so if you're looking for some close emotional support & company at night he's your guy."Zeus" MUST be the only dog in his new home. Older children will adore him (and the feeling will be mutual). While he can "sit" on command his leash walking needs more practice. In addition he becomes nervous about loud unexpected noises.Rehoming fee: $150The fee is intended to make sure Zeus goes to someone who is genuinely prepared to make a commitment to him.

Story
Stocky boy is learning to loose leash walk. Found off Hwy 90 near river bottom before Thanksgiving. He prefers being indoor on raised bed. Does well on short car rides to vet, groomer, hardware store, or pick up order at drive thru food store. Rides with car seat belt snap on harness but prefers riding in back seat on longer car rides. He likes ear rubs, belly or neck scratches and running loose in yard. UTD on vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm negative, neutered, and takes flea-tick preventative. Leroy is 1.5 yo brown medium size dog that is clever and learns best with consistency. 6 ft privacy fence yard. Training on 10 ft leash for slower sniff exploration or walk on 6 ft leash for brisk exercise.
