Story
Bentley was abandoned as a puppy at the vet's office and owners never went back for him. We took him in to raise. He grew large and is known as a gentle giant. He is very friendly, loves people and is very easy going. He is a mix of two different breeds. One is the Staffordshire Terrier, and one is the Border Collie. A variety of breeds were used to develop the "Amstaff" including the Bull Terrier, the Old English White Terrier, the Black and Tan, the Bulldog, the Mastiff, the Pointer, the Dalmatian and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The American Staffordshire Terrier is an intelligent, happy, outgoing, stable, and confident dog. They are good-natured, amusing, and extremely loyal and affectionate. Border Collies are very intelligent and sensitive which makes them easy to train. They have an uncanny ability to know what you are asking of them before you even ask it. Bentley is a good dog. No trouble at all, and no bad habits. Stays close to the house although he will lay in the pasture just observing the view. He is good with other dogs and kids, although I would prefer older children because of his size. If you are looking for a forever companion, look no further. He is an outside dog but sleeps in the garage at night. Contact me for questions or if you wish to meet him. We are near Sherman, Texas.

Roxy needs to be your only pet, but she will give you so much love, you won't have any room in your heart for another. Roxy is very sweet and loves belly rubs almost as much as treats. Please consider making Roxy a part of your family and give her a happily-ever-after. ADOPTION APPLICATION: www.tinyurl.com/IADRAdoptionApp ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** The State of Texas requires rescues to collect sales tax on any adoption fees. Our adoption fee is $175. Texas State Sales Tax will be added to that amount. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Story
American Pit Bull TerrierRemi is a young, large, male dog. He came into rescue from a terrible, abusive situation. He had been shot, and his left front leg had to be amputated. Remi belongs in a home as an only dog. He is not a family dog but will do very well with a single person or a couple. He is very timid with new people but is absolutely devoted to “his” person/people. He’s extremely loving but not social...no dog parks, etc.Remi will make a great addition to a quiet household. He is housetrained, fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and is on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. His vet records will be turned over to his adoptive parent(s). He is ready to find his forever home!

Story
Aster is a happy, outgoing AmStaff who simply loves every human she meets, especially the little ones. She gets along with other dogs unless someone growls or gets aggressive with her then she is ready to rumble; she would do well as an only dog or with other dogs that like a peaceful environment.Aster is house and crate trained, although as an only dog she would be fine not using a crate. She is crated for meals and when no one is home in her foster home, along with most everyone else simply because there are several other animals. She would love to have her family to totally devote herself to and take care of. She is totally engaged and observant; ready to do what is asked of her.Aster is fully vetted, current with vaccines, spayed; micro chipped; and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
***DFW area only-No Exceptions*** Happy is a 3 month (as of 3/25/2024) old American Staffordshire Terrier and possible cattle dog mix puppy.  He was taken to the shelter when found stray. It’s dangerous for such young puppies to be in the shelter, so his foster mom brought him into the Legacy Humane fold! Happy loves to be played with, enjoys belly rubs, and is very social. In fact, if he thinks you are going to pet him, he will roll over to beg for a tummy rub! He is a very loving puppy who greets those he loves with a very happy tail! He is incredibly loving, sweet and cuddly. Puppies at this age will require patience and training to become the best pup they can be. Happy is working on potty training and is doing great with a potty schedule and an attentive adult! . He does well with other dogs and cats. He responds well to corrections from dogs and curtails his behavior accordingly. He is still working on listening to the cat’s cues so it may be best to be in a home without cats. He would do best in a home with a yard.   Current weight 13 lbs Projected weight 50 lbs Crate trained    We are requesting a donation of $325 for the adoption which includes his neuter, three rounds of puppy vaccines, a rabies vaccine, microchip with registration, dewormer and a single dose of heartworm preventative.  If you're interested in meeting or adopting him, please complete an application on our website and someone will reach out to you within 48 hours.  https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Adopter will take puppy to an LHS approved vet to be neutered in April of 2024 per the spay/neuter agreement and in accordance to Chapter 828, Texas Health and Safety Code.  *Due to the high volume of applications and inquires for puppies as well as vetting needs, we will not be able to respond to or consider interest from those outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.   We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program.
