Meet Maggie! When Maggie joined the rescue she was ready to pop! She had 5 healthy puppies who have now found their forever homes, now it is Maggie's turn! We are guessing she is a 4 1/2 year old American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier Mix. She weighs 50 lbs. Maggie loooooves people and going on walks. She is potty trained, kennel trained and leash trained. We are looking for a home without any other pets where sweet Maggie will be spoiled and loved! We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##1482209##

Story

We adopted Tucker in 2019 when he was 9 months (according to the Humane Society). He got along very well with our other dog, Cooper, from the start and they balanced each other out nicely until Cooper passed away last year. He also does great with other dogs whenever he stays with a Rover sitter. Tucker is a very well behaved dog and we never crate him when we leave the house. He is also very athletic and playful and could spend all day chasing after a tennis ball. He has no health problems and takes his flea/tick/heartworm medicine monthly. We have 3 kids (ages 4 months, 2 1/2, & 4) who he does very well with. Because of the time/energy required for our growing family, Tucker has not gotten the love and attention that he deserves. As a dog lover, it's been a difficult to decide what's best for Tucker, but I believe he would be more well-suited with another family/individual with more time to spend with him. Crate, dog beds, toys, and extra flea/tick/heartworm medicine included.

Remi belongs in a home as an only dog. He is not a family dog but will do very well with a single person or a couple. He is very timid with new people but is absolutely devoted to “his” person/people. He’s extremely loving but not social...no dog parks, etc.Remi will make a great addition to a quiet household.   ***DFW area only-No Exceptions*** Happy is a 3 month (as of 3/25/2024) old American Staffordshire Terrier and possible cattle dog mix puppy.  He was taken to the shelter when found stray. Happy loves to be played with, enjoys belly rubs, and is very social. In fact, if he thinks you are going to pet him, he will roll over to beg for a tummy rub! He is a very loving puppy who greets those he loves with a very happy tail! He is incredibly loving, sweet and cuddly. Puppies at this age will require patience and training to become the best pup they can be. Happy is potty trained but of course will need specific training for his new home He knows sit and sits and waits until told to “go” for his food.  He does well with other dogs. He responds well to corrections from dogs and curtails his behavior accordingly.
