Story
Hey! I'm Rosemary (but pretty much everyone calls me Rosie, which seems to fit me better anyway). For those who don't know me yet, I thought I'd share a few details about myself here... I'm what they call a "low rider" because, well, look at me! Don't worry, though, what I lack in stature I make up for personality! (Just wait until you see my "excitement run"!). After winning the battle against heartworm this winter I've gotten to move my bod a lot more, so now I'm just about the perfect amount of "chonky"! Wouldn't you agree? I don't like to talk a lot about my past because it wasn't so great, but it has shaped me a bit so I need to be honest with you. I like other dogs...well, some of them...sometimes...but sometimes I don't so...I don't think I should live with one. And people...well, they can scare me a bit, too. (Not YOU, of course!). I LOVE people who give me a little time and space to get to know them. Those people are my favorite! BTW, I've been told I have kind of a serious face, but don't let the cropped ears fool you. I get zoomies that will make you laugh so hard you cry and when it comes to cuddling on the couch I'm a total pro. So what do you think - are you ready for a sweet little house hippo ready to wiggle and waddle her way into your heart and home? Story
AVAILABLE for ADOPTION! Waynesboro, Va. On behalf of Virginia Paws for Pits, We are proud to announce that Simba is ready to start the search for his forever home! Simba is a 6-7 year old mini-man who is love-a-BULL, hug-a-BULL and adopt-a-BULL! This little guy packs a whole lot of personality and excitement into just 50 pounds of sheer cuteness! A product of divorce, Simba found himself returned to our local shelter where he was adopted from as a puppy. Short staffed and overwhelmed, this was not the place for an active, intelligent dog to thrive and so he languished for four months. When Virginia Paws for Pits heard he was at risk, they sprang into action and made his plight public! Because we had an extra spot in our kennel, we were happy to be able to give Simba a place to hang while we all work together to help him find a new family. Simba is full of love and adores people! He's full of life and energy and NEEDS a fenced yard to romp and play and express his joy! He is not good with cats or small animals. He has lived with a dog in the past and seems to be ok with other dogs but....he is very excitable and would need slow introductions, supervision and caution to place in a home with other dogs. Simba's not so lovely quality is pulling on his leash like an idiot when he is over excited. That's why he has to have a fenced yard and an owner who is willing to make sure he gets the balance of exercise and calming structure that he needs to be successful. (No small kids, please. They would be over stimulating for Simba and he might accidentally bowl them over like pins at the bowling alley.) Simba is available to adopt through Virginia Paws for Pits. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for internal and external parasites. His adoption fee is $200 which helps them care for all of the dogs who enter their program AND pays for two visits with Christopher Kirtley of Southern Hospetality, LLC. located in Afton, Va (therefore, a local adopter is strongly preferred.) Please apply to give Simba the life we know he deserves at www.virginiapawsforpits.org or email applyvpfp@gmail.com for more information. Please help us find Simba a family by sharing this post far and wide!

He came to us from an abusive situation where he was starved. He is friendly with adults but probably not good with kids. Faith, Hope, Charity and Liberty are 4 sisters who were found abandoned in a cemetary in rural West TN. Thankfully a nice lady found them and took them home. They were starved and freezing but very sweet and friendly. We believe they were born in late Nov or early December. They have started their vetting and if everything continues to go as planned they will finish their vetting and be ready to travel to their forever homes 3-15. These girls are going to be large dogs when fully grown. They are already learning how to sit and other tricks. If you are interested in adopting please visit funnyfarmpets.org where you can read all about our adoption and transport process and you can submit the adoption application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FFRR/Dog The adoption fee is $399 and transport will be an additional $200 if they have to be transported out of TN where they are currently fostered.

Story
This sweet boy was found on the Supreme Court steps. Apparently he was seeking justice for his past treatment. He is badly scarred and very thin but oh so sweet and friendly. He is on antibiotics now and getting all the grub he needs. He loves other dogs and is very sweet and gentle. He appears young. Maybe about a year old. He is only 36 pounds now but needs to gain at least 10 pounds. He will be a perfect medium size dog who will be a great addition to almost any home.

Story
This is Waffles!  Waffles was found by a good samaritan who wasn't able to find her a home. Waffles was kept safe in boarding all summer but it wasn't the right environment for her. An employee took her home and immediately noticed the positive difference in Waffle. She is a very smart, loving young dog, about a year old. She is very athletic and has a lean muscular body. She loves people and dogs. She is prospering in her foster home where she has dogs to match her energy and a foster family that are teaching her how to be part of a family. She isn't super keen on her kennel but is learning that it is a safe place to hang out. She likes chewing on bones and playing with toys. She has been nicknamed "Door stop" because she is always beside you when you leave a room (a behavior that she is working on). She loves to hold down the couch and if given the opportunity will gladly keep you company in bed. She redirects easily and wants to be a good girl. She is not food or toy aggressive. She has the makings to be a great family dog or outdoor partner for an active person. She just needs the right person to continue her training and development. Waffles has been spayed, is current on her vaccinations and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $550    and includes her transportation to her new home in VA.  SHE IS IN A LOVING FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO HER NEW HOME ONCE ADOPTED!  New Beginnings Animal Rescue uses  a licensed and registered USDA transport company.      If you would like to apply to adopt Waffles, please fill out our online application here:  http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net.  Any questions, please email us at:  newbeginnigs_animalrescue@yahoo.com.   THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET! Story
Ollie is an affectionate and adventurous companion, and DDB's token "Golden Bachelor." He's an older gentleman at approximately 9 years old, but you'd never guess it! He has a zest for life and a personality bigger than any you've seen. This spunky 55lb pup has the cutest bobbed tail that makes his entire body waggle and wiggle when he's happy and is looking for someone to share it all with! Ollie is the type of dog that just wants to do everything with his person. He loves car rides, walks in the park, trips to the drive-thru, watching TV, snuggling, and just hanging out. He's more than willing to head to Starbucks for a pup-cup date or cuddle up on the couch for a movie marathon. Ollie is a people pleaser who enjoys showing off his tricks, practicing new ones, and making his person smile simply from seeing that goofy, crooked, ADORABLE smile of his! He can a bit cautious of new people, but if you break out the snacks, he realizes you're "one of the good ones" and will be your best friend! Ollie is good with most dogs but prefers older mellow females and dogs who aren't too much in his face. He is a more relaxed soul and would do well with dogs that match his energy. Because he can be iffy with some dogs, he should not go to dog parks, playgroups etc. where he is no longer directly in control with his person. He has not been officially cat tested but he's been fine with cats on his current foster's property outside, as well as been fine with smaller dogs and lives near farm animals and shows no prey drive. Ollie should not live with small children due to being nervous around them and their energy, but older children are ok. He walks well on a leash without any reactivity to humans or other dogs, is potty trained, crate trained and listens well when he's called. If you're looking for a super chill companion dog, Ollie may be the guy for you!

Story
Sibbie is a sweet girl on the search for a patient forever home. She has an unknown-but stable neurological disorder. This means she has a few funny quirks. She sometimes licks her lips and even gallops like a horse every once in a while. She doesn't let this stop her from having an amazing time when out with staff and volunteers. Sibbie is kind, gentle, and very smart. Ask to learn more about Sibbie today!
