Located near Atlanta, GA. Bleu is My special baby. Had her since 6 weeks, she is almost 4 years old. she is a sweetheart at heart. Misunderstood in my opinion, Bleu is very protective of anyone she cares about. She is best with children and elderly folks. She does need to warm up to strangers before trusting them, she is a defensive anxious type. I think she is best in the house, she is a couch potato. The best cuddle buddy ever and she listens well. She does need a little training when it comes to strangers coming to the house/ to the door. Again, she needs a little warming up before fully trusting. She is picky with who she is friendly with. She is best with women. Very protective of anyone she loves and I know she would be the perfect guard dog/ companion

Praline rode to her foster home leaning over the front seat with her chin on the shoulder of the person up front, and she stayed right there for every head scratch she could get. She is a black and tan bulldog mix, around 37 pounds, with tan eyebrows, a white stripe down her nose, and two big ears that do not always agree on which way to point. She came to Petersburg Animal Care and Control as an owner surrender and went into a foster home the next week. She is spayed, house trained, crate trained, and microchipped. Praline is very sweet and very affectionate, and she wants to be wherever her people are. She has lived with kids of all ages, and she has been friendly with the dogs she has met so far. She already knows her crate, which makes the first weeks in a new house easier on everyone. One thing we do not know yet. Praline has not been around cats that we know of, so we cannot tell you how she would do living with one. Praline is living in a foster home, so visits with her are set up by appointment. Roxy is a 34 lb micro bully, which means the whole bully look, the broad chest and the big blocky head, packed into a much smaller frame. She is a seven year old female, and she has raised several litters of puppies. Now it is her turn to be the one getting looked after. Roxy gets along with cats, so a home that already has a cat is open to her. At seven she is past the puppy stage and ready to settle into a home of her own. A few honest things before you apply. Roxy may not do well with bigger dogs, so she is best as the only dog in the home or alongside a smaller, easygoing one. We do not know yet how she does with children. We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 4pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability. Sherbet has worked out what sit gets him, and now he does not wait to be asked. You walk up, he plants himself, and he looks at you like he has just solved something. He is a two year old boxer and pit bull mix, 65 pounds, and he came to us in January after spending most of his life on a chain. He arrived underweight and scarred up from fly strike. None of that seems to have stuck to him. He still greets every person who comes down the aisle like they are the one he has been waiting for. What he loves most is room to run. Turn him out and he uses every inch of the yard, and once he has burned it off he comes and leans on you for as long as you will let him. He learns fast. He picked up sit in a matter of days and now offers it on his own. He is bright, he wants to be with people, and he is young enough that most of who he turns into is still up to whoever takes him. A few honest things before you apply. Sherbet has never lived indoors. House training, stairs and doors and furniture, and learning how to be alone in a house are all still ahead of him, and the first few months will take a real routine and real work. He gets bouncy when he is excited, though he is gentle about it and he takes guidance well. He is strong and he has energy to spend, so he needs someone who will meet that every day. He is neutered and microchipped. He does well with other dogs with a proper introduction. He has not been around children since he arrived, so we cannot tell you how he would do living with them. Sherbet has been waiting since January, and he is ready whenever you are. We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you.
