Story
Meet our irresistible canine companion, a true testament to resilience and love—Nico. Nico is a gorgeous 3 year old Anatolian mix. This charming furball is the epitome of the "best snuggle bug," ready to shower you with warmth and affection. Nico is not just good with cats; he's a feline-friendly marvel, ensuring peaceful coexistence in any home. While generally amicable with other dogs, he may exhibit some leash reactivity, a behavior that can be improved with patient training. It takes a little time for Nico to warm up to new people, but the reward is a loyal friend who'll melt your heart. This delightful pup revels in the simple pleasures of walks, relishing the opportunity to indulge in a good sniff around. Nico strikes the perfect balance between daily activity and couch potato relaxation, ensuring adaptability to your lifestyle. With a love for treats, he's a willing participant to learn new commands. A lover of chase, be it with humans or fellow dogs, Nico injects joy into every playtime. Having faced a tough start to life, yearns for a special someone willing to invest time, love, and patience. Despite it all, his cuteness is undeniable, and once you've earned his trust, his loyalty is unwavering. If you're ready to open your heart to this handsome boy and give him the happily ever after he so deserves, Nico is waiting to bring joy and warmth to your home. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Meet Kishi! Kishi is a 7 year old, 71 pound Anatolian Shepard. If you're looking for a daily walking partner she's your girl! Kishi is great at walking on the leash. Other people, dogs, and cats do not bother her, she just looks at them and moves on. She loves being outside, and is completely housetrainined. When Kishi isn't enjoying a walk, she likes to lay around. She may act shy at first but she will come up to you for scratches in due time. She loves being pet, scratched, and brushed. Kishi doesn't really bark, even if another dog in the house is barking. She will occasionally howl but it's normally at random. Kishi is a gentle giant who just needs a loving home. Don't miss your opportunity to get to be her person! Kishi is being fostered in Oceanside, NY and her adoption fee is $425. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Possum! He is an 1 year old, 70-pound Anatolian Shepherd Mix. Life with Possum is awesome! We might say it too much, but it's true - he is a very good boy. Possum is house and crate trained and very well-behaved indoors. He is intelligent, independent, and loyal. Long walks through Central Park and discovering new smells are some of his favorite activities. He loves investigating and exploring. However, he doesn't love the city, and loud noises, big vehicles, or busy spaces can make him a little nervous and skittish. Possum doesn't care much for humans but loves playing with other dogs. He gets along great with all breeds, both big and small. If you live a quiet life but enjoy spending time outdoors, Possum is the perfect companion and guardian for you. Providing him with a spacious, securely fenced yard or taking him for multiple walks in the park would fulfill his exercise needs. At home, he is content to relax and just keep a watchful eye on things. He also loves butt scratches and sleeping in spaces too small for him. :) If you're looking for a loyal companion to cuddle and explore the outdoors with, Possum is the perfect pup for you! He is currently being fostered in Manhattan, NY. His adoption fee is sponsored by $300 by a generous donor, making his fee to an adopter $125. To adopt this pet, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
