Story
BEING FOSTERED IN COTTAGE GROVE, OREGON Bosco is a 4-year-old neutered male Anatolian Shepherd who needs a new home ASAP. Originally raised as a livestock guardian and is trustworthy with livestock and poultry, but he truly prefers being a companion pet and wants to be close to people. Calm, easygoing, and very steady temperament. Has not lived full-time indoors but does very well when inside and clearly enjoys it. Not guaranteed fully house trained due to limited indoor living, but shows good house manners. Good with children. Good with non-dominant dogs. Good with visitors. Not a nuisance barker — only alerts when appropriate. If he gets out of fencing due to boredom or lack of interaction, he does not roam or run off — he goes looking for people and attention. He needs a home where he will be included and engaged. Good on a leash and enjoys going for walks. Due to being raised primarily as a guardian dog, he needs continued work on basic obedience skills and commands. Rides okay in a vehicle but currently does not seem to enjoy car travel. Current on vaccines and microchipped. Would do well as a pet in a rural or spacious home and is suitable for a first-time LGD owner due to his calm, stable personality. Rehoming to a responsible, committed home only. Message for more details about Bosco’s temperament, history, and compatibility.

Story
There’s something undeniably special about Lucy Lou the kind of soft, quiet magic you don’t fully notice until you feel it. She doesn’t burst into the room asking for attention. Instead, she gently makes her way into your heart before you even realize what’s happened. It’s in the sweetness of her eyes, the softness in the way she carries herself, and the steady calm she brings with her wherever she goes. Lucy doesn’t need to be loud to be seen; her presence speaks for itself. She loves gently, moves thoughtfully, and offers affection in the most tender, unassuming way. Like little moments meant just for you. Watch her video and call in love with her sweet soul: https://youtu.be/1CPMAurFHw8?si=DIDQ_1U4oDl-9o1F Lucy Lou is believed to be Anatolian/Lab mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 61 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. When you first meet Lucy, you’ll instantly realize she has a sensitive, tender little soul that makes you want to just scoop her up and shower her with all the love in the world. She is a little shy at first when you first meet her and when she is in new environments, but after her initial shyness has passed, Lucy is all about showering you with love and snuggles. If you let her, she could probably lay in your lap, act like your own personal weighted blanket, and stay in that position long enough, we can guarantee the two of you will find yourselves dozing off for an afternoon nap. She really is a total cuddle bug and actually appreciates when you wrap her up in a little blanket burrito, getting her all tucked in for snuggles. Lucy is dog friendly and has done great meeting all of the dogs we have introduced her to, and is currently fostered in a multi dog home. Her shy, gentle personality also shows itself when meeting new dogs and she will do best with a doggy friend that will allow her to get the lay of the land and feel comfortable first. Once she’s adjusted in her new home, the rest is history!! You’ll find your resident dog and Lucy sunbathing together, snuggling up together for a nap, wrestling in the backyard, sharing toys, and doing everything together. All she needs is a little time to trust and she’s golden! Her foster dad has even said that one of his favorite things about Lucy is how great she is with all of his dogs and he loves watching them play and enjoying each other’s company. In a home, we believe Lucy would be happiest with another doggie friend in the home. Lucy also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if Lucy has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Lucy is a gentle lady who has spent time around younger children, even as young as 7 years old, and does just fine with them. While she’s good-natured and tolerant of the occasional squeal or quick movements from younger children, she tends to be happiest around older kids. Older children, around 7 and up, are more in tune with her boundaries; they’ll understand that she is a shy girl, when she needs space, and can respect her need for a little calm time. Lucy would be great in a home with 1–2 kids, and if you have grandchildren or friends who have younger kids that come to visit on occasion, Lucy will be completely okay with that too because it’s not an everyday thing. Lucy would thrive in a home that enjoys the simple moments in life, isn’t overly concerned with being the party house in the neighborhood, and is looking for a loving companion to take on leisurely walks around the neighborhood and snuggle with at night. If you’re someone who works from home, Lucy will be perfectly content settling on the floor next to your feet, keeping quiet, never getting into things she shouldn’t, and occasionally looking up at you or resting her head on your leg, nuzzling you for affection. Almost as if she knew you needed a five-minute breather from your computer. She has a well-balanced energy and can match the energy of the room. We can also picture Lucy enjoying porch sitting as a hobby too. She could sit next to you and watch the world pass by all day. Bonus points if squirrels like to make their presence known because she loves to watch squirrels and also chase them too. She can’t resist a little squirrely chase every now and then. Lucy would do great in either a home with a backyard. Lucy is crate trained, potty trained, and has wonderful house manners. Her foster mom raved about how incredible her house manners have been and that she hasn’t had one accident! How impressive is that?! Truly, she’s a 10/10 and so deserving of a loving home. We are willing to test Lucy Lou with anything you need to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Mac and his siblings found themselves at a small rural shelter with no foot traffic so we got them out. Mac is curious and independent and loving and adventurous. He loves water and he spends most of his day exploring the woods and ponds on the property. He is super smart too. His siblings are all fluffier than he is and look more shepherd like than he does. He has more of a heeler look in terms of coloring and shape but based on their sizes and their growth since I got them, I believe they will be big dogs. Big, happy, friendly, loving dogs. He is about 4 months old. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, too young for a heartworm test. Story
Charlie and his siblings Dennis, Dee, and Mac have an always sunny disposition. They are spunky, happy friendly and curious. Their favorite past time is hanging out by one of the ponds. They don't quite swim yet but definitely love water. Great with dogs of all sizes and with cats. Love to cuddle. Do not love being a crate though. They will each make perfect family dogs or adventure buddies for a single person or couple. They are some of the best puppies I've ever met. They were surrendered to a small rural shelter as an accidental litter. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well.
