Story
Meet Maurice Richard (Mo), our loyal and energetic 2-year-old shepard mix looking for a new forever home. Mo is neutered, microchipped, and was adopted from the Oregon Humane Society at just 9 weeks old. He’s full of personality and loves running at the dog park, playing fetch like a major-leaguer, and going on long walks. Mo is incredibly devoted to his people and would thrive in a calm, consistent environment. He struggles with visitors in the home and will need ongoing training and support to help him feel safe and secure. He would do very well in a farm-like setting, where he would be free to run and may even put his cattle dog instincts to work. Due to our current lifestyle and the level of training Mo needs, we’ve come to the difficult decision that our home is not the right long-term fit for him. We’re looking for someone experienced, patient, and committed to helping Mo continue to grow into the amazing dog we know he is.

Story
Let me introduce you to a warm, gentle soul we call Barley. He has eyes that quietly say “tell me all about it, I’m here to listen.” And his presence is just as comforting. He can come off a touch shy when you first meet him, some of that is because he isn’t clamoring for your attention, but the truth is he is taking slow and observing. I felt like I immediately understood his energy and met him there, sitting on the ground with him and while I sweet talked him he slowly melted into leaning on me in a way that felt like a gentle hug. He is a quiet presence like a long-time best friend and has all the traits of an adoring, loyal dog. Lucky for you he is available for adoption and ready to come home. Take a look then come back to read more- It’s no surprise, my favorite thing about Barley is how easy his company is. Slow and steady in every area, whether it is with people, on-leash for a walk, with dogs, or meeting our house cat. His demeanor and look lead us to believe he is an Anotolian shepherd mix, approximately 1.5 years old and he currently weighs 51 lbs, Breed and age are details we cannot offer 100% certainty on given the nature of him being a rescue . He may grow a smidge more but we believe he is essentially his full grown size- perfectly midsize in our opinion. Initially, we thought Barley may not be interested in other dogs because of his shy approach but we were quickly shown otherwise. As we introduced him to female on-leash, it was easy to see that he felt very comfortable with her. His tail was wagging and his body was soft and welcoming. With each additional dog he continued to show us a polite approach and an easy-going nature, no matter the size or gender of the dogs. He did really gravitate towards a larger male in a very loving way, almost like the protector energy of this dog was familiar. Although we have not seen a bouncy, playful side, we anticipate as he settles in and builds connections with dogs, we will see that side of him emerge. In addition to being dog friendly, Barley was respectful with our resident house cat. His approach was cautious and almost avoidant but before long the cat was laying nearby and he moved on in a way that showed he was not fixated or concerned with the cat. From what we saw Barley would make a peaceful addition to a home with feline friends. Barley would easily live in a home with a yard to stretch those legs, feel the sun and enjoy the breeze but he has potential for apartment life. With a quiet presence and a wonderful mid-size frame, with growing leash skills, apartments are a possibility but because of his current shyness he may need some sweet talk and treats to build confidence in busy areas. But given his age and approach to new experiences we have confidence that with time and understanding, Barley will transition smoothly into a variety of homes. A house with a yard is always wonderful but above all Barley is looking for a loving home, regular walks, a easy-going doggie companion or two, maybe even a feline friend… he is ready to quietly take on discovering the world with you by his side. If you can guard that gentle, sweet heart, he promises to help calm you from whatever the day could throw at you, fill you up with love, sweetness and loyalty in return. Looks, charm, and a golden-good heart, that’s Barley and he is ready and available to be your dream boy! Questions? Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
This is Gordon Ramsey and he is ready to learn the recipe of your home- adding his own sweetness of course. You can call him Gordon or Ramsey but his foster mama calls him a combination of the two- Ramy and we love it! This boy is a tall, floofy gentleman and has the kind of look that turns heads, with the heart to back it up. He may have the look of a mature gentlemen but underneath all that fluff is a young guy full of potential, the sweetest heart, and dreamy, couch-worthy charm. Watch is video to see him work his magic- https://youtu.be/2F4ZjkuPg7c We believe Ramy may be a Pyrenees/Shepherd mix, he currently weighs in around 54 lbs, and is estimated to be 2-3 years old. Given he is a rescue we cannot guarantee age of breed with certainty. Gordon may be a rescue but he is has been so lucky and is waiting for his adoption day in a loving foster home where he’s learning the ropes of family life. He’s crate trained, trustworthy in the house, and incredibly people-friendly. On top of that he became a gentle companion to his 11-year-old foster brother. Hello family dog! Ramy rides beautifully in the car, watching the world go by or snoozing peacefully in the back seat. Around new people, he is friendly without being pushy, you will get a warm welcome and a gentle love lean into your legs. He seeks out affection from his foster, enjoys pets, praise, and attention from his foster family. They shared that he does a happy little tippy-tap dance when he’s excited, especially around mealtime, they love his dinner time show the best! Day to day, he has a lower energy level and enjoys a short morning and evening walk. His foster shared the walks are pleasant and you can see it keeps him happy to get out and about. Once he arrives at his forever home he will likely need a brush up on his leash manners. Staying calm and steady when he is in a new place is where he is a work in progress, but he responds well to gentle corrections. We can’t blame him though, new faces and places can be energizing. Once that structure and routine are set though, so is he! As for other dogs, that enthusiasm shows! He leads with excitement but after the initial greeting he becomes more of a companion than a playmate. He was introduced to a variety of dogs to get a feel for his play style and who he gravitated to. Once he had met a dog he would bounce around with them for a bit and then sort of loose interest. We don’t see him as the playful type and could easily be satisfied as an only-dog or with a tolerant female who prefers company over rounds of chase. What is easy to see is that Gordon is a genuinely sweet soul with a heart as soft as his fur. He is eager to connect, ready to learn, and is going to be the absolute heart of your home. Simply, he is as endearing as they come! Questions? Story
JRU showed up in my sons backyard a year ago. He tried to keep her for approx 8 months but with no yard it was too difficult. I took her in 3 months ago. She is a wonderful family dog but my 3 small dogs cannot adjust. The are constantly in her face. She needs a home where the animals are accepting of her. My son had 3 cats and she loved them. I hate to give her up but I cannot worry about my small dogs getting in her face. I am heartbroken and hope someone will give her a home and love her.

Story
Willa is an energetic dog (somewhere between 2-3 years-old) who likes being outside and having the space to run! She was abandoned last year by a homeless person so we don't know her history, but we've had her spayed, vaccinated, crate-trained, through some obedience training, and taught her to live with 2 older dogs. She's part Belgian Malinois, Australian Cattle Dog, Siberian Husky and a little bit Carolina Dog & German Shepherd. Even though she's a medium-sized dog, she likes playing with the big dogs. She's pretty smart, loves chasing bouncy balls, and is fairly good at leash walking (unless a squirrel crosses our path). She can be very sweet, likes having her tummy rubbed, and seems more comfortable with women. Willa has a high prey drive and some insecurities, so we think she'll do best with an experienced owner who knows how to train dogs. Because of her alertness, she could be trained as a guard dog.
