Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet TITAN!  Titan is an (approximately) one-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Pyrenees mix (confirming DNA is pending for those seeking a working dog)!  This poor boy has been moved around 5 times in the past 3 months before reaching our rescue and we just can’t figure out why??  He even ended up on the euthanasia list in TX and our friends at @nationalanatolianshepherdrescuenetwork found him and saved him! He is the smartest, sweetest, goofiest, bestest boy!   He is fully potty trained (will use a bell or use his nose to point at the door knob to the outside), knows some basic commands, is very loyal and wants to be with his foster as much as he can!   He is super friendly with all people he meets, loves other dog friends and when seeing cats (and wild bunnies) doesn’t seem all that interested. He has not been observed with children but he is a big, doof with little body spatial awareness (typical of enormous puppies) so older, sturdier kids are recommended.  He rides well in a car, does well in public spaces, walks pretty well on a leash and behavior when he sees the the vet is pending (check up appointment is Friday 3/29). That being said, he IS an enormous puppy approximately a year old, so the faint of heart need not apply.  His new family will need to have a very rigorous activity plan to keep this boy out of trouble.  Luckily, just like a baby, he does require naps throughout the day.  If you look at him and think you can work it out without being a VERY active family, get ready to invest in replacing shoes, clothing, carpets, dog beds and anything else you deem valuable for the next year, at least.  You will also need to secure mail, recycling, paper items (yes money and checks), packaging and other items as he thinks they are SO much fun to destroy!  He is easily directed with activities, walks, runs, rides, playdates, etc, approved dog toys and dog bones.  He LOVES to be outside patrolling the yard and does zoomies just out of sheer joy to be alive.  He does NOT like pooing/peeing on a leash so he will need a large yard to eliminate as he needs to do it as FAR away from the house as possible. When he perceives a threat, he has a very BIG bark that should deter any predators, mailmen, the meter reader, garbage trucks, rogue clowns and zombies.  He is not a fan of being crated, but not a point to hurting himself, there’s just lots of verbal complaints.  He’s crated while his foster mom is at work (see all the things at risk of being lost above) and sleeps totally well through the night in a “penned” area in the kitchen with an 8 panel divider.  This is only being used because the older 11 yr old resident Pyrenees is not big fan on Titan in his sleeping space.  He likely would love to sleep right on top of you if allowed.  His foster mom is working through a little separation anxiety (vocal only), mouthiness, and jumping which gets better each day.  With the right family, he is going to be the most loyal companion and we definitely feel a responsibility to make sure he’s not displaced again!  Does he sound like your match?  He would definitely benefit from a robust, large, active, playful resident dog.  Titan is being fostered in Tacoma, WA and is available for adoption in the PNW states! All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. All current pets in adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  We do not adopt to families with children under the age of 6.  Adoption Fee: $275 All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Transport Fee: $350 Transport fee includes the cost of transport plus the Health Certificate required for USDA approved transport. Adoption applications can be found on our website: www.greatpyrsandpaws.org https://greatpyrsandpaws.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5959   Northwest adopter pays cost of transport to independent transport company.  Transport is arranged by GPPR.       Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 5, 2024, 12:41 pm

Story
Oso is a head turner! A beautiful coat of fur, hazel eyes, and 100 lbs of LOVE! If you are looking for a big dog who is already well mannered, look no further. He’s a gentle giant who likes his independence, and has experience living in a house with other children and pups! He LOVES affection, tummy rubs and cuddles. Volunteers have said on two different occasions that after taking him out for a walk, they were laughing! With such a large body, he is the complete opposite- gentle, calm and soft spoken. His previous owner says that he can be left alone for long periods of time without accidents, and is very smart. He knows “Ven” for “Come” in Spanish, and we have seen him pick up on other commands quickly like Sit.Oso is laid back and does his own thing. We think that he is a low maintenance pup who just wants to give love and cuddles. If this sounds like what you have been looking for, we hope you come into AAC and meet our gentle giant, Oso!

Story
Meet Cairo! Cairo is a smart pup and quick learner. With some positive reinforcement and consistency, Cairo will thrive in a loving home. He already has some basic training under his belt and is house-trained, making him an excellent candidate for anyone looking for a canine companion who`s ready to settle right in. He would be over the moon with a spacious backyard to romp around in (and chase his tail), but what he craves most is quality time with his people. Whether it`s fetching a ball, going for a run in the park, or simply curling up next to you on the couch for a cozy cuddle session with big snores, he`s always up for any kind of activity that brings him closer to his humans. If you`re searching for a furry friend who will bring endless smiles, laughter, and an abundance of love into your life, Cairo could be the perfect match for you.

Story
You simply must meet Gunner in person. He has a larger stature but is very respectful. When he arrived he was amazed to see any dog nautiness going on around him and generally tried to stay on the down low and away from all that. He seems to expect his neighbors to be as mannered as he is. He`s an easy leash walker and loves people and seems to want to be friends with friendly dogs. He loves his time running in the play yard and he`s quite happy after a 10 minute outing. Come and meet him and see why a mature dog can be the best choice for people of all ages. He`s advocated for by his many friends and fans including Classic Canines who are helping to make land bridges out of the shelter for mature dogs that took a fork in the road of life due to life`s hardships.
