You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Tarzan is a sweet Anatolian-Hound mix who is going on 4 years old and would love a home of his own! He loves to play tug of war and chase his tennis balls as he's an overall happy guy. He's very obedient, is crate trained and relatively non reactive to other dogs that are separated by fences on his property. He loves to receive the love and attention of humans and will stick right by your side. If you're a hound dog fan he's got a great hound dog bay when there is an armadillo that crosses his path! Tarzan was found with another dog by a good samaritan and brought into the rescue. His companion has been adopted and now it's his turn! He may need a little help with leash walking and experiences typical environmental allergies controlled by medications. Tarzan is currently in Texas but can be on the next NW transport! All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. All current pets in adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  Adoption Fee: $175 All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Transport Fee: $350 Transport fee includes the cost of transport plus the Health Certificate required for USDA approved transport. Like the Greek god, I am named after, I am smart and clever. I have worked with a trainer to learn basic commands. I am food/treat motivated. I love my people and will roll over for belly rubs.  I like to play with toys but I am also an outdoorsy guy and would love a hiking or running buddy.  My ideal home is one with older children and perhaps as an only dog.  My fee has been covered by my rescue.  I have been waiting a long time for my family.  Will you be it? We couldn't think of a more fitting name for Twister because once you befriend him, you'll get caught up in a whirlwind of love! If you're a solo person looking for an awesome companion, Twister is your man. This sweet boy will happily sit quietly by your side and lend a listening ear. It's hard not to fall in love when you look into those soulful brown eyes that say, "Come sit down with me and tell me all about your day." Want to play? Well, Twister is a puppy at heart! His joy is contagious when he's chasing after balls or playing tug with his rope toy. He is always up for fun and games, and he will sweep you up into a spin of laughs for years to come. His foster mom says he looooooves playing brain games and is happy as a clam entertaining himself with puzzles. Plus, he's well-mannered in the house and crate-trained to boot! Twister is quite an amazing walking buddy. He gets excited at the mention of a walk. And he'll be happy to take some wonderful long walks to keep you both moving. He is easily distracted from possible annoyances. So, no worries there. He is such a pleasure to spend time with. A gentle soul, and a quiet companion, Twister is happiest in a home with just one best friend. He also wants to be the only animal in the home. He's the kind of guy that you can pour your heart out to - and he really listens. He's super easy to have in the home, and everyone says the same thing about him.... 'He's just so sweet'! Twister has some allergies that show up now and then on his skin. He's not bothered by it. He just figures he's a regular Austinite. Twister is loved by all at APA!, and we are waiting for his one true friend to come along and scoop him up. With his outstanding obedience skills and those heart-melting eyes, he will quickly find his way into your heart and fill it up. Pumbaa is a silly little man that loves to play outside. He enjoys ear scratches and lounging around his hoomans. His previous family consisted of 3 adults and 6 children of various ages. They noted that he is a good loyal dog and knows how to protect his pack. He lived in an apartment/condo situation that had access to a yard. He`s been known to avoid other dogs and cats inside the home. From his previous notes, observation with his previous family and foster, we believe he has potential to be properly introduced to and eventually live with children, other mellow and calm pets. Our shy man prefers a calm environment and doesn`t like sudden and loud changes around him. He has crate experience in his previous home. Pumbaa loves playing with squeaky toys (lamb chops). He was used to 3 walks a day and is considered a medium energy dog. Any potential foster and adopters should note to introduce new things slowly and follow the 333 rule.
