Story
Dollie came to us with an injured paw, and from day one she has shown nothing but sweetness, patience, and trust. Even during bandage changes and treatments, she has been the perfect patient, leaning gently into our hands and looking up with the softest eyes. She is a truly special young dog. At only about a year old, Dollie still has her whole life ahead of her. She is affectionate, gentle, and loves being close to people. She is also dog friendly and enjoys the comfort of canine companions just as much as she loves human attention. We are still evaluating the long-term condition of her injured leg. It is possible she may be able to keep it, but there is also a chance she may ultimately need further intervention. What we know for certain is that Dollie deserves a calm, loving home where she can continue to heal with consistency, care, and comfort. We would love to place her in either a foster or adoptive home so she can recover in a quiet environment instead of the shelter. She will thrive with someone who can offer her softness, patience, and routine as she continues to heal. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Dollie, or if you have questions about her care needs, please reach out to us at adoptpetersburg@gmail.com. She has already shown incredible resilience. Now she just needs someone to show her what it feels like to be safe and loved at home.

Story
This handsome boy was picked up running at large and based on Facebook posts it was about his third or fourth offense, but no one claimed him. We are guessing that he was a failure at being a livestock guardian because he’s way too social. He’s always wanting to visit someone new. Charlie is a little over a year old and weighs 110 lbs. He was very thin when he first came to us but is now at his perfect weight. He is neutered, up to date on required vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested negative. He’s house trained and he loves other dogs, but he is a big guy. He also will require a tall fence, and you will have to keep an eye on him because again he likes to visit new people. He’s affectionate and likes to lean on you. He is learning commands like sit and stay and he really tries to please! This is what his foster mom says about him " Charlie is amazing. He is housebroken, loves to be hugged, hasn’t chewed anything up, likes to play but is content just to chill. He walks beautifully on a leash and likes to say hi to everyone he meets. Charlie enjoys sitting and looking out the window, hanging around in the kitchen especially when I’m cooking and going for car rides. Although this breed is known for having a stubborn streak, Charlie seems to understand a few commands wait, it’s ok, no, come, let’s go and he will even sit for a treat. But his favorite is Good Boy Charlie❤️" This guy would be a great dog for an active loving family. He’s so sweet! If you would like to be Charlie’s forever family, please email dogs4mylife@ gmail.com or olmc7@ hotmail.com. If you are inquiring from a Gmail address. Story
Annie the Anatolian So glad to meet you! I am a gorgeous, floofy young adult girl with big paws & an even bigger heart. I am likely not a purebred Anatolian; I share a lot of characteristics with Great Pyrenees, another big, floofy breed. Both breed are guardians at heart. I am a little shy when I first meet people, but soon warm up, especially with children. I am also shy at first with other dogs, unless they are trying to butt in when you are loving on me! I love to eat. I am crate trained. I’m learning to love being brushed. Cats are ok. Digging random holes in the backyard is a lot of fun. I would love to become part of your family! Adopt me through God’s Dogs Rescue. Attributes: 90% housebroken Shy at first, but warms up quickly Affection hog Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Current Location: Frederick, MD Meet Blackberry: A Loveable Companion Who Just Wants to Be Part of the Pack This curious, silly, utterly loveable boy has one simple wish: to be where his people are. Blackberry is the kind of puppy who will steal your heart with his affectionate nature and his deep desire to be included in every moment of family life. He adores being around adults, children, and other dogs, soaking up all the love and companionship he can get. Blackberry is food motivated and treat enthusiastic (he loves his Hills Science food, mini milk bone biscuits, cheese, and kongs stuffed with peanut butter), which makes training a joy. He's already shown he's a smart cookie who needs and enjoys mental stimulation like working kongs and treat dispenser puzzle balls. He's making progress on potty training with fewer accidents each day, and while he still has his baby teeth and can get nippy and mouthy as puppies do, he's learning what's appropriate to chew on with proper supervision. His energy comes in delightful bursts throughout the day, followed by content naps on his puppy bed near his people. At night, he loves to sleep with company, settling in peacefully when he's not alone. He enjoys different types of toys, from benebones for chewing to plush toys for playing, and he's curious about the yard, though he's still figuring out this whole leash walking thing and can be a bit scared and confused by it. Here's what Blackberry needs you to know: he really does not like to be alone. He will let you know with whines, howls, and his best protests that he wants to be part of the action. He's even shown his determination by breaking out of his crate because being separated from his family just isn't his style. Blackberry would thrive in a home with someone who works from home or is around during the day, ideally with children and other dogs who can be his constant companions. He needs a family who understands that his clinginess isn't a flaw but simply proof of how much love he has to give. If you're looking for a sweet, silly shadow who will follow you everywhere and fill your home with puppy joy, Blackberry is your boy.

Story
This shy baby is booking a stay with us at Rescue Resort. Her arrival date is scheduled for 1/13/2026, so she'll be through isolation and ready for adoption starting the 27th of January! We don't know much about Barkeisha yet, just that she's incredibly shy. We're hoping the family atmosphere here will help her to come out of her shell :) We'll update this as we get to know her with more personality quirks and photos!
