He loves having fun with his favorite humans and can be playful and goofy in a way that makes you forget just how big this boy really is!Baloo would thrive in a quieter, more rural setting away from the hustle and bustle of busy city and suburban life. A spacious property where he can stretch his legs, explore, and enjoy the outdoors would be ideal. He has natural guardian instincts and takes his job of watching over his home seriously. Experience with large breeds is a must, and livestock guardian experience would be a huge plus.Baloo also has an independent, stubborn streak, so he needs a strong, confident handler who is comfortable managing a dog of his size and can provide clear boundaries and consistent expectations. He needs someone who can confidently guide him and maintain structure, while understanding and respecting the instincts that come with his breed mix.Baloo can do well with other dogs and prefers slow introductions. He could be happy as an only dog with continued socialization, or he may enjoy a compatible canine companion, preferably a dog closer to his size who can comfortably match his play style. Because he has a strong interest in chasing small critters, a cat-free home would be the best fit.Baloo is a special combination of loyal guardian and lovable goofball. Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! NOT!! I am a snuggle bug looking for tummy scratches....I willl MELT for one!! Here is what one of our amazing fosters have to say about Dakota...."Super freaking sweet, loves loves belly rubs, is very strong when you walk him but listens well. VERY treat motivated and knows sit down paw and i just taught him roll over yesterday but its a work in progress 😝. Super playful, he will pounce around you and then roll over for belly rubs and absolutely melts for the belly rubs and kisses" I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!!
