Story
Hi! My name is Caesar and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by an Animal Control Officer on March 9, 2023 along with my pal Selene (A633553) after my owner passed away unfortunately.I weigh ~95 lbs and am considered a `large breed` dog. When I arrived at RASKC I was very thin and underweight. My ideal weight should be around 105 lbs.I have shown some interest in toys or treats, but I just want to lean on you and get unlimited pets :)I love people, but can independent if needed.Although I am a large dog, I am pretty mellow and walk well on leash. Due to my shy nature I would thrive best in a home without younger children (fast movements and loud noises make me nervous).About the Breed - https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/anatolian-shepherd-dog/An Anatolian Shepherd Dog is a rugged, imposing flock guardian of ancient lineage. Protective and territorial, but also intelligent, patient, and profoundly loyal, these muscular avengers are prized as working guard dogs without equal. The Anatolian Shepherd Dog stands between 27 and 29 inches at the shoulder and can weigh as much as 150 pounds. Profusely muscled but nimble afoot, Anatolians are more than a match for the predators and harsh terrain of their homeland. Anatolians descend from some of the oldest known domestic-canine bloodlines. This lends the breed a sense of timelessness, a no-frills, untouched quality that takes us back 6,000 years to the Bronze Age. Anatolians are smart, devoted, responsive, and adaptable. They will protect their flock`¿livestock, children, smaller dogs, even the family cat`¿with intensity. Anatolian owners must be strong leaders, willing and able to handle a dog as dominating and demanding as he is calm and loving. My personality color is BLUE. I am a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might take some time to warm up. Once I get to know you, I will be a very devoted friend!

Story
Sophie and Bolt are two-year-old siblings and were rescued from a South Korean dog meat farm. Sophie and Bolt are so fun together and just love to run and play. Sophie is super shy, while Bolt is more outgoing after his initial shyness. With time and patience, Sophie is gaining confidence and her lovable personality is coming out! Sophie and Bolt love belly rubs! We would love to place Sophie and Bolt together in their new forever home. Neither of them are suitable for an apartment/condo/townhome. Bolt needs a securely fenced yard with room to run and play and burn off his energy. While not as shy as Sophie, Bolt needs a home that will have the patience to work with him and continue his training. That home will be rewarded tenfold for their patience and leadership. A DNA test on Sophie and Bolt's sister showed her as 57% greyhound, 31% shepherd. The siblings are vaccinated, micro-chipped and neutered. Story
This is Thor! I took him as an emergency foster for a friend who was having financial difficulties. He is about 2 years old, Anatolian Shepherd/Akita mix. He is the sweetest guy, great with my 3 young kids, my older rescue husky and another foster puppy we currently have. I have 2 cats, he is excited to meet them which freaks them out a bit, but not aggressive or prey/driven at all. He's a big couch potato and just loves having a snooze next you. He does have some skin issues which are being treated with topical steroid spray and some other skin treatments and it is improving. I'd say he has sensitive skin so will need oatmeal or allergy friendly dog shampoo. His only behavior is that he is so tall he will sometimes try and sneak leftovers left close to the edge of the kitchen bench. But I believe this is from spending his puppyhood in a rescue. He is not protective of his food when it is in his bowl at all. Neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. Rehoming fee negotiable.

Story
She’s extremely goofy, smart, sweet, loving, and greets you with woo’s and kisses every time you come home. She loves her scarfs and will wear them anywhere. She’s very affectionate and will cuddle with you for hours. When we got her we weren’t told the extent of her aggression towards men. She’s good with meeting men in public who want to give her a few pets, but can get aggressive and territorial when a man enters the house or men walk up to you at night during walks. She does amazing in a kennel, can stay at home while you're at work, knows a good amount of commands, and does a great job on her walks. She isn’t reactive to anything except bunnies. She’s occasionally aggressive with her food around humans, but if you leave her food out for her there shouldn’t be a problem. She’s good with other dogs, but not too familiar with cats. Thank you for taking the time to read this and we hope you love her just as much as we do!

Story
Welcome Sable to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 5 month-old puppy and weighs 25 pounds already. She is shorter than the boys in the litter and not as fluffy. She looks a lot like an Anatolian Shepherd/German Shepherd even though the boys look like Bernese Mountain dogs. We are going to guess Anatolian Shepherd/Bernese Mountain dog mix. We think she should be a 60-pound dog full grown. She has a gorgeous soft coat and when you pick her up, she is very soft and cuddly. She is really affectionate and the most submissive one of the girls in the liter. She is a gentle puppy and she likes to be on her back and you giving belly rubs. She would be perfect for those colder climates in the North. She came from one of the local pounds. They are overflowing right now with puppies. She would be great with children. We like them to be 8 or older. A family that has had a Bernese Mountain dog or an extra-large dog before would be best. Some that is patient and gentle with this girl is best. Another more confident dog will help her learn the ropes. Someone that does not work all day and can finish his puppy potty training is best. She is good in a crate, good with his siblings and lives with a cat. She has gotten 2 puppy shots and will finish her 3rd and be ready for spay and her new forever home soon. We are a small Rescue. Please be patient when you apply for a puppy that is this adorable and amazing breed. We don’t get many in the Rescue world. Many will apply for this girl. We like to take our time and find the very best home for Sable and one we think he will be the best fit for the family. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 180. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. * To learn how to become a foster parent to this or any other shelter dog, please follow this link https://bit.ly/SASfosterapply - thanks.Hi, I'm Califa! My favorite things in the world are walkies, mealtime, stuffies, string cheese, and cuddles with my person! I absolutely love being outside and sniffing all the wonderful smells the world has to offer. I bet I would be the best hiking buddy ever! I'm fully housetrained and well-behaved if you need to leave me alone for a few hours, and I will dance and wiggle and smile in excitement when you return.I'm a very good boy during the work day and can entertain myself by napping or playing with my stuffies, but when you're done, I sure would love if you'd maybe throw my toys for me a bit, or play some tug o'war with me! I'm very good at snoozing calmly and snuggling as well because I love belly rubs and ear scritches and pets in general. I make it very easy for people to load these on me because I am oh-so-cute and I have the softest, silkiest coat ever!I'm on social media too! Story
Beautiful Noelle needs someone to run with her. This gorgeous, 18mo old, 65lb girl has been in a shelter and foster home for almost four months. She’s overdue for a loving home of her own! During this time, she has received basic training and socialization. She now can walk great on a leash, but she must have an assertive pack leader to help her maintain focus when a squirrel runs by. She thrives on her long walks and hiking trips, and she is polite to dogs she meets on the trails. Typical of her breed, she is a high energy girl so she must have an experienced owner to help tire her out every day. She is a VERY sweet, affectionate girl, too, so lots of cuddle time will also be a must. Noelle is a very social girl that absolutely loves people so a socially active home is best. . She gets along great with other, medium size dogs but would prefer a home of her own. She does ok with calm, dog savvy cats but if they run, she will play chase. It’s best if there are no cats in the home. Noelle is fully crate trained and house trained, and can be left home alone for a reasonable amount of hours. She must have a fenced yard. Children must be over 10yrs old.
