Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Goliath! He is a 4-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Chow Chow mix. His name suits him as he is a VERY LARGE dog. He will need a strong adopter to handle his strength. Goliath is sweet with his people, food motivated, focused, and very active. He is dignified and can be quite stubborn at times but eager to please when food is involved. He would do best in a home with a big yard for him to run, play fetch, and explore! He is reactive towards other dogs, and needs to be the only dog in the home. Goliath is stunning and will need to go to a home with large breed experience. He is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
Hi, I'm Puma,I sure hope you are looking for a great young dog to help make your home complete. If that is so, then stop looking, you found her. I am pretty shy when I first meet new people but all I need is a bit of attention to build my confidence and I will shine. I don't live with children but I have been around them and I know to just stay calm and relax. I like dogs in my pack and I will play but I would prefer to chill out and relax. I am what you might call laid-back!When my foster family takes me out for a walk I stick pretty close to them because there are a lot of street dogs and they scare me a bit. It is much better when I walk with my pack. I don't have many toys but give me a nice marrow bone and I will be busy all day! Cats are not my thing, unless they like to be chased then I am all in.Oh did I mention that I love to swim? It is the best thing when we go to the beach and I get to play in the water. I'm in heaven then. The car ride there makes me a bit nervous so I don't look out the window or anything. I just wait until we are at the beach then I am fine.I am pretty good with my basic commands like Sit, Come and of course, come eat! I know I still have lots to learn but I hope my new family will be ready to teach me how to be the best dog I can be. If it sounds like we could be a match then fill in the application and we can meet on a Zoom call.I am all yours,Puma To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo. Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Animal Profile: Buttercup is a 2-year-old, 55 lb spayed female "Texas Brown Dog" who joined us from Texas on 7/15/22 as an unsure adolescent. We have worked diligently with her in training to improve her confidence so she can be successful in her forever home. Foster Update: This young and energetic girl will do anything for a treat and very much wants to please her humans. She is building confidence; however, her anxious energy translates to reactivity at times. Off-leash she greets humans with excitement or indifference both in the house and the yard. She is doing well with the three large resident male dogs in the house after structured integration. She can play all day and has benefited from dog companions who can gently correct and/or join in her exuberance, as well as lead her in confident appropriate behaviors. She is potty trained and crate trained and often goes into her crate on her own to relax. While in foster care, Buttercup has received training from Bulletproof Balanced Training; her adopter will receive a private take-home training session. This girl is destined to be a wonderful loving member of her forever pack. Adopter Profile: Adult-only household Large breed experience preferred Secure fenced yard preferred Other dogs preferred (not required) Cat testing available for approved applicants Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA guidelines, negative heartworm test for dogs 6 months and older, and microchip. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  May 3, 2024, 7:55 pm

Story
Animal Profile: King is an estimated 1-year 5-month-old 74 lb neutered male Malinois who was a stray intake to the Moreno Valley animal shelter and assessed to be friendly with dogs and people (albeit a bit unruly and in need of training). After over two months in the shelter environment with no interest, he became increasingly frustrated and was red-listed for "kennel stress." We have pulled him and we will share more info as we get to know him in foster care.   * King has been in foster care with On the Mark Balanced Training * Foster Updates:  King is a goofy, high-energy, friendly boy! He absolutely loves people and is a confident boy -- he has not been scared or hesitant about anything he’s come across so far. He is calm and quiet in his kennel, goes in on command, and waits to be released. He would do well in an active home that likes running or long walks. We think he would also love to try dog sports such as agility, nosework or dock diving. He likes to play ball and rolls upside down with his ball when he needs a break from running. He is neutral with other dogs and when allowed to interact off-leash does want to play (though he is a bit oblivious to other dogs' cues so would do best with tolerant playmates). He has learned to walk nicely on the leash and is doing well with the place command. He is currently being fostered by On the Mark Balanced Training and will come with a take home lesson to teach you how to walk him with a nice loose leash and a place command. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.   Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: King was a stray intake to Moreno Valley animal shelter on January 16, and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle, arriving to Seattle area foster care on 2/18. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. May 3, 2024, 7:55 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Hunter is an estimated 2-year-old 117 lb recently neutered male Great Dane who was found as a stray in San Bernardino wandering in tact and with a cherry eye. He was urgent at the crowded shelter where he was a volunteer favorite due to his goofy friendly nature with people and dogs. We will share more as we get to know him in foster care. Foster Update: Hunter is a sweet, goofy, loveable boy with an easy-going disposition. He's yet to meet a human or dog he doesn't love. He's also met some cats he loves, but he doesn't understand why they don't like playing with him. Typical to the breed, as a young Great Dane, he is completely unaware of his size and rather uncoordinated. For this reason only, he would do best in a home with older children and preferably some giant breed experience. He loves his cuddles and becomes very attached to his people. He is a classic velcro dog that sticks close to your side wherever you may go. He does very well in a crate or kennel and has been great when left for longer stretches of time while at work. He is extremely food motivated and very smart so he will be easy to train with positive reinforcement. The downside to his food obsession is that he will continue to need work with counter-surfing. We are actively working on this and making improvements. As a teenage Dane, he divides his time equally between erratic zoomies and long naps. He does a wonderful impression of Tigger jumping from couch cushion to couch cushion. A few highlights of his accomplishments and personality: Knows Sit and is working on Down Rings the bell to go outside for a potty break Doing well learning leash manners Enjoys a longer lead but could learn a heeled walk with more training Crate trained and house trained Likes to play fetch Can amuse himself with toys in his quiet area Loves other animals and is non-reactive He is slow to pick-up on cues from his fellow canines when they are asking for space so he needs help setting those boundaries and re-directing Observes and learns quickly, including handy tricks like how to lift the toilet seat, get over a gate, or open a door with a handle Hunter is all-around a truly wonderful young boy. His goofy traits and sporadic bursts of energy are typical of a young Dane for those familiar with the breed. He has the best disposition and doesn't let anything get him down. Due to his previous stray lifestyle, he is used to taking initiative to get his needs met and it will take some time for him to learn that he no longer has to do that. Setting boundaries and consistently reinforcing them will be the key to his success, but he's such a smart boy I have no doubt he will learn everything quickly and be an amazing addition to anyone who adopts him. Adopter Profile: Large breed experience required Giant breed experience preferred Other dogs / cats / older kids OK Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which include neuter, cherry eye surgery, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, health check with veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Hunter was a stray intake in San Bernardino and rescued from San Bernardino city shelter, arriving to Seattle area foster care on April 7. He will be neutered and have cherry eye repaired on May 6, and then be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.  May 3, 2024, 7:55 pm
