My Doodle Story Are you an active human with a strong throwing arm, a decent sense of humor, and the ability to establish household dominance without barking? Great — Theos is ready to take over your heart and your living room. Theos is a high-octane, brainiac doodle who was clearly an overachiever in a past life (we suspect he ran a startup and practiced jiu-jitsu). He demolishes treat puzzles like a canine Einstein, and if fetch were an Olympic sport, he’d already have the gold. But don’t be fooled by his zoomies — Theo is also a big ol’ softie. Once you’ve earned his loyalty (read: thrown the ball 37 times in a row), he’ll be your shadow, your sidekick, your emotional support doodle. Wherever you go, there he’ll be — lovingly staring into your soul… or the treat bag. He’s crate-trained like a champ, enjoys his own space when it’s time to chill, and just needs a leader who isn’t afraid to lay down the (loving) law. In fact, his ideal forever human is someone who’s part dog-whisperer, part marathon runner, and part personal life coach. Theos’s Forever Home Wishlist: • A fenced yard where he can run, frolic, and pretend he’s chasing intruders (probably squirrels) • An active family who treats “walk” as a lifestyle, not just a suggestion. • A confident, consistent leader who can guide him and teach him how to channel his brilliance into good decisions (and not, say, minor mischief). • A home that values cuddles as much as cardio. If you’re looking for a dog who’s equal parts athlete, genius, and cuddlebug — Theos might just be your guy. But be warned: once he picks you, you’re stuck with a very loyal, very energetic, very lovable best friend for life. Theos has worked extensively with our trainer before transitioning to a foster home. He will come with the support of our training team in order to ensure a successful transition through a slow adoption process. Because of this, prospective adopters must be in the Austin metro area and willing to continue with his trainer during the adoption process. Theos’s adoption fee is $600. He is HW negative, current on all vaccinations and HW/flea preventatives, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. All adoption fees go toward expenses like medical costs and food for Doodle Dandy dogs and help make it possible for us to continue giving amazing pups like Theos a second chance. Meet Summit! Summit is a four year old miniature poodle mix dude looking for a loving home. He still has a young playful side, but also just really loves to snuggle up next to you on the couch. He is small but mighty and likes to be the head honcho in the house. He’s not afraid of putting large dogs in their place and letting them know he gets all the pets. He is friendly and gets along with children ages 2 to 21.Summit would do well in an apartment, or house, but your back yard definitely needs to be secured for a smaller dog, as his long lost relative is Houdini and he’s not afraid to go scope out the girl dogs next door. He sleeps all night, without issues, and if you need to kennel him during the day, he does well then too. He has been neutered and is current with all his vaccines. Meet Desmond!Desmond is a two-year-old red standard poodle mix with a soft heart, a curious spirit, and the sweetest demeanor. He’s the kind of dog who enjoys quietly napping, keeping you company or in another room by himself—then happily switches into playful mode when it’s time to play.He is mostly potty trained and does very well with regular outdoor breaks, preferring to go outside only. Desmond is respectful in the home, stays off the furniture, sleeps through the night, and remains calm when someone comes to the door. That said, when it’s food time, he gets adorably excited and may let out a few happy sounds. It’s very endearing and comes from pure enthusiasm. He may search for snacks or counter-surf if given the chance but he responded well to being told no by his foster mom and staying off. He is extremely gentle when taking treats and continues to make great progress with consistency and reassurance.His crate is his safe space, and he genuinely enjoys it. You’ll often find him relaxing there with one of his favorite chews like bully sticks or cowhide. He also has a funny habit of collecting random household items and bringing them back to his crate—he doesn’t destroy them, he just likes to keep them close.Socially, Desmond is a bit timid at first but very sweet once he warms up. He does well with both younger and older children and has been wonderful with cats, quickly befriending his foster family’s cat. He is gentle, respectful, and kind. He also does well meeting other dogs and enjoys playful interactions once he feels comfortable.Desmond learned how to walk on a leash quickly and does well, though he is still gaining confidence in new environments and will need a patient family as he continues to explore the world. He loves spending time in the backyard, sniffing around, exploring, and enjoying fresh air.Desmond would benefit from having a friendly canine companion to play with and learn from but he would also thrive as an only dog where he can soak up all the love.
