We got him a shelter in Collin county. Buddy is a sweet dog but our older dog that we already have has a hard time getting along with Buddy. Buddy is an only child kind of dog and I think it’s best He goes to a home that has no other pets. Buddy is potty trained and loves people. Buddy gets attached very quickly and loves to go on walks and running around in a backyard. Buddy loves to cuddle and loves to play with his dog toys. Buddy is just a great dog to have around that just wants to be loved by his people.

Story

We got Buddy from a local breeder a year ago as a companion for our Aussie/Retriever. Having two male Aussie mixes has become a bit of a challenge for our very busy and large family. Buddy is extremely loving once he warms up to you(he does act pretty timid at first though). He’s still very much has puppy energy. He is kennel trained, house trained, and knows several commands. He does great at the dog park, but he has a little bit of a little guy complex until he gets comfortable. We haven’t been able to dedicate as much time and energy into socializing buddy with people, so he’s very standoffish at first meeting. We are not asking for an adoption fee, we just want him to be with a family who has the time and resources to love him and care for him.

Hey everyone, you have to meet Billie — a gorgeous, fun-loving girl who is now looking for her forever home. 💕 Billie was born November 10, 2024 and currently weighs about 32 pounds. Her DNA shows she’s a mix of Poodle, Boston Terrier, and King Charles Spaniel, with a little of other breeds sprinkled in. She’s the perfect size for playing, cuddling, and everyday adventures. Billie is great with older children, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and absolutely loves to play. She enjoys going for walks and has a happy, playful personality that makes her a joy to be around. She’s about 50% house trained and does much better when she has access to a contained yard, where she can go out more frequently and continue learning her routine. Billie’s previous family had her since birth but, unfortunately, could no longer keep her. Regarding heartworm status: Billie tested positive initially, but that result may have been a false positive. She was retested at a different veterinary clinic, with proper timing, and that test came back negative. Pictures will be posted when we have them. This sweet doodle came to us as a breeder release, which means life as a family pet is all brand new to them. They are still learning about the world outside of a kennel setting and will need a patient, understanding home that is willing to give them time to adjust and build confidence at their own pace. They do best with routine, gentle guidance, and positive reinforcement. While initially shy or unsure in new situations, their personality continues to shine more each day. Many breeder-release dogs thrive in homes with another friendly, confident dog to help show them the ropes. He is crate trained, does well with other dogs, but is not comfident with leash skills. They are not a “plug-and-play” dog and will need time to decompress, but with consistency and love, they become incredibly loyal and affectionate companions. Adopters should understand that adjustment can take several weeks or longer, and moments of insecurity or hesitation are normal during this transition.
