Story
Who is going to be the lucky person to bring this dog into their life? Sofia is a doll! She's about a year old and was rescued from the Riverside County, CA shelter just in time. She is now in foster care in Santa Barbara, CA. Sofia is everything that a cattle dog should be. She's smart, energetic and athletic. She's also capable of being chill and hanging out as long as she gets decent exercise. And she wants nothing more than to please her shepherd. I've rarely had a foster dog who showed such a quick submissive response to correction. That plus a quick mind will make her so easy to train to be whatever you want! Sofia is great with all other dogs she has met, and she has met a lot. She plays well with a larger age-mate. She's got high enough prey drive that cats are likely not a good match for her. She was also very nervous around a toddler, so she's a no for a home with small children. But she's friendly with older kids. Sofia is housebroken, loves leash walks, and is great on car rides. She's going to be a fantastic companion to anyone who wants an active dog who also wants to cuddle!

Story
COURTESY POST: These dogs are only available in the Santa Barbara County/western Ventura County area. Falcon and Olsa are a bonded pair, most likely father and daughter, who were left behind when their family moved away. They were in a shelter for awhile but are now in foster care. If you want two quiet older dogs who need very little and just like to hang out, this is your answer. Both dogs are low key. They are housebroken and crate trained and good on leash. They love a neighborhood walk but are mostly happy to just hang out. Because of undersocialization, they are very shy meeting new people and take a while to warm up. Falcon is more shy, but once he warms up to you, he is a lover who will sit next to you on the couch and ask ask ask for petting. Both dogs are great with other dogs, with no aggression issues. We haven't seen them with cats. They would be fine with kids, but no young ones because the children would scare them! Both dogs are vaccinated, fixed, and microchipped. They are available from Santa Barbara County Animal Services and the adoption fee is $110 per dog (although maybe we could get a 2-for-1 deal!).

Muffin: Certified Couch PotatoNot every cattle dog is chasing cows andclimbing mountains. Muffin’s chasing something far more elusive — theperfect nap spot.At just 3 years old, Muffin has already mastered the artof taking it easy. She enjoys short walks (emphasis on short) and believesthat after 10 minutes, it’s time to reflect, rest, and possibly lie down inprotest. Her volunteers have learned to plan routes that end exactly whereshe decides the adventure is over — usually near shade or snacks.Muffin isn’t lazy — she’s efficient. She saves her energy for the important thingsin life: snacks, cuddles, and quality time on the couch. If you’re lookingfor a laid-back companion who’d rather binge-watch than power walk, Muffinis your girl.Adopt Muffin, and gain a professional lounger, world-classcuddler, and the ultimate reminder that sometimes slowing down is the bestway to enjoy the ride.

Story
Marley is truly a find. At 9 years old, he is healthy, vigorous and active, able to go on long walks. Afterwards, he`s calm and chill around the house. It doesn`t get better than that!Marley is great with other dogs of similar size; he`d like a playmate but is also ok on his own. He`s great meeting new dogs out in the world too.Marley is housebroken, leash trained, great in the car, and easy to have around. Really, he`s the great dog -- fit but calm, social but not needy.Marley is about 48 lbs and could use to lose a few but is in good condition. He has no known health issues.

Story
Lizzy is your go to gal for smarts, snuggles, and adventures! She’s eager to please (treat motivated!) and the perfect mix of adventure buddy and cozy home companion. Lizzy has blossomed in foster care in a home environment. She’s housebroken, sleeps through the night, and respects boundaries when they’re set consistently (though she secretly hopes you’ll invite her into bed for snuggles). Not to mention her leash skills are getting better every day! Her favorite types of fun? (1) Outdoor fun: Fetch with her ChuckIt! ball is her FAVORITE, but she also enjoys hikes, jogs, runs, car rides, and walkies and (2) Indoor fun: Lizzy loves to curl up nearby (often with a single paw or her nose touching you) and nap while you relax or work from home, and she`ll happily settle and keep herself entertained with a chew toy, or a pupsicle when you need space). Lizzy is a quick learner, very affectionate, and bonds deeply with those she trusts. She is looking for a home where she can be your one-and-only pet. She’ll thrive with someone who enjoys both snuggling on the couch and exploring the outdoors, and who can offer her patience, structure, and a whole lot of love. Lizzy makes life simple, clear cues and a little love (and a ChuckIt! ball or two) are all she needs. If you’re ready for a once-in-a-lifetime dog who will be your loyal shadow, Lizzy is waiting for you.
