Adoption fee is $50 during our Bissell Empty the Shelters event 5/1 – 5/15!! Application must be submitted to secure an appointment! Our beautiful Madison would like to remind everyone that she is looking for her forever home! She is a very sweet, chocolate brown Shepherd mix. The only thing bigger than Madison’s smile is her loving heart! She is an active girl but very well behaved on her leash. She enjoys going for walks and showing off her impressive breakdancing skills! She is also very talented at catching treats! Her breed is a best guess... maybe Cattle dog or Kelpie and Lab. She's a very sweet, friendly girl with lots of energy. She has been ok with the dogs at the rescue and another dog that has a high energy level could be a good match for Madison to have as a playmate. Madison is estimated to be about 2.5 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. Her $250 adoption fee has been reduced to $50 and covers vetting, up to date shots, deworming, spay, heartworm test (negative) and microchip, all already done.. If you are interested in adopting Madison, please complete an application at www.gofar.dog under "Adopt".If you have questions, email my rescue at adoptions@gofar.dog. Adoption fee is $50 during our Bissell Empty the Shelters event 5/1 – 5/15!! Application must be submitted to secure an appointment!Meet Lewis. He came to GOFAR from Miami, where he was found living on the streets. Ruff start to life, but he's ready to live the good life! We're not quite sure what Lewis' mix is... he's around 30 pounds and looks like a small Rottie/Hound/GSD, but since he's about 2 years old he's not going to get as big as any of those dogs. He's a sweet, loving guy that dances with joy when it is time for his walkie. He is a big fan of belly rubs and treats too. He has a bit of a herding instinct so would do best with an active family with older kids that can keep him busy.Lewis' $250 adoption fee has been reduced to $50 thanks to Bissell and covers his neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, deworming, heartworm test (negative), microchip, and lots of TLC. Hi, this is Maloo a blue heeler/border collie. He is a 2 and a half year old ball of energy. Loves to play ball, going for rides, and snuggling at the end of the day. He is house broken and loves to be around people. Unfortunately, we have gotten to busy to take the time for him and give him what he needs. Walks, attention and playtime.

Story
Both are up to date and one year of veterinary visit will be included for both dogs. Eight years ago, we rescued a lovely and friendly dog by the name of Jethro from the shelter right before he was going to be euthanized. That was already a very sad story. For eight years he stayed in a lovely family with Mary Lou and Jerry who loved him very much. Along that time they also adopted a very sweet friendly female by the name of Elly Mae. She was also on the verge of being euthanized but both ended up in a wonderful home where they spent many years playing and loving their pet parents. Sadly Jerry passed away and Mary Lou had an accident and now won't be able to take care of them. It has been very sad for her to let them go and we were contacted by the family who could not take the dogs. Both are in excellent shape. They are 8 and 10 years old. Jethro is 68LBS and Elly Mae 56LBS and yes both can loose a few pounds. They are currently being taken care by Mary Lou's friends in her home. Unfortunately they have to go back to their own home and the dogs will have to be removed at that time. We would love to find them a place ASAP where they are safe. They are great friendly dogs and love each other. Potty trained. Up to date on everything and heartworm negative. They were in a great home so definitely well taking care of. If you can help this sweet pair please let us know. There is not much time left for them. This is a note from their Mom MaryLou: Meet Jethro and Elly Mae it breaks my heart that I have to surrender them. I have some health issues that I am moving outstate into Sr living Jethro is a lover and protector follows me from room to room. Elly Mae it is one of the sweetest girls you’ll ever meet. She loves to be hugged and cuddled. She had been abused terribly and we rescued her from a shelter she had Heartworms, but we went through the treatment and she’s been doing so good. She’s also blind in one eye. She does real well outside on a leash and it’s usually in and out quickly they like to play with each other. I would like to see them to stay together as they love each other. Their adoption fee is $100 for the pair. Still have so much love to give. Thanks for rescuing. Jethro had a DNA test and he is and Australian cattle dog and mainly also Golden retriever.

Story
We rescued Ranger in Sept. 2022 from a shelter at 3 months old. He is almost 3 years old now, and a very sweet dog. He loves our kids, and loved going to the dog park when we’re able to go. We’ve become very busy with our schedules as I’ve had a change in job and with new commitments coming up, so we are not able to give him the time and attention he needs. His new family needs to prioritize helping him get energy out, with walks or a visit to the dog park or having a big area for him to run around. Again, he has a very sweet temperament and loves kids, although I do recommend upwards of 8 or so as he doesn’t always know how strong he is when he jumps/runs around. He did go to some puppy classes and was easily trainable, however he does not like the crate and becomes anxious in there. We’re hoping to find him a place he will thrive.
