Story
We rescued Ranger in Sept. 2022 from a shelter at 3 months old. He is almost 3 years old now, and a very sweet dog. He loves our kids, and loved going to the dog park when we’re able to go. We’ve become very busy with our schedules as I’ve had a change in job and with new commitments coming up, so we are not able to give him the time and attention he needs. His new family needs to prioritize helping him get energy out, with walks or a visit to the dog park or having a big area for him to run around. Again, he has a very sweet temperament and loves kids, although I do recommend upwards of 8 or so as he doesn’t always know how strong he is when he jumps/runs around. He did go to some puppy classes and was easily trainable, however he does not like the crate and becomes anxious in there. We’re hoping to find him a place he will thrive.

Story
With a personality as strong as the one he is named after, six-year-old Apollo is a legend all his own. He is full of fiery spirit and is eager to go and do almost everything. He is very handsome and knows just how charming he needs to be to win you over. When out in the yards, he runs all over with a smirk across his face, enticing those around to join the fun. His favorite activity is playing ball, showcasing his speed while proudly bringing the ball back, triumphantly. A close second is going on a nice long walk with some of our volunteers. He is in need of some leash training as he can pull at times, and he loves to play grab the leash when first putting it on. He will sit for treats, which has helped, and has shown he is very treat motivated. Toys are also a fun pasttime, squeakers or a good stuffed Kong with peanut butter keep this guy happy. Apollo can be affectionate, showing it in his own way by leaning up against your legs, and is always prompt for scratches, but is not a fan of full on embracement. He has been making more and more human friends, but is not to happy sharing space with other canine companions. With such a large personality, an experienced owner would be ideal for this exceptional dog. Adventure, excitement and a world of opportunity, Apollo would make a wonderful addition to the right home, come see for yourself at Satchel's Last Resort! For an appointment to meet Apollo, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslastresort.org, and an adoption counselor will get back to you.

Story
SPECIAL NEEDS: Meet Warren! Warren came to Ewenity after he and his brother were abandoned on the side of the road. After they were rescued, it was discovered that Warren lost his hearing, possibly due to an untreated ear infection. It appears this same ear infection may also have had the long-term impact of causing him to have what appear to be psychomotor seizures. These are not what you typically think of as seizures, but present as “odd” behaviors (staring at walls and corners or spinning in circles, etc.) These have been significantly reduced with a high-quality CBD oil twice a day and as needed. Since Warren is deaf, and takes his cues differently, he’s also been remote collar trained, which makes non-visual and non-verbal communication with him possible. This handsome ACD is true to his breed and all about the activity and loves to “herd” his 4-legged friends. At about 1-1/2 to 2 years old, he’s agile, and athletic, and loves to snuggle. He’s up for all sorts of play time, but will also nap on your lap for hours. Warren will do best in a calm, consistent home. He comes with his e-collar as well as some meds as it is imperative his treatment is continued. The rescue will also provide training support. Warren does like his dog-friends, but would do best in a home with submissive, quieter dogs, and would also be fine in a home with no other dogs. We can’t wait to see Warren finally find his always and forever. Could you be the one for him? Story
Meet Washington! Washington is an interesting personality. He is very, very affectionate with people that he knows, and loves to roughhouse, wrestle and play but is extremely gentle when doing so. He loves to chase a ball, amuse himself with toys and is very active. He is wary of strangers initially, but greets well if not grabbed or touched roughly by a stranger. His person will need to introduce him to strangers, but it only takes a minute for him to warm up and want hugs. He gets along with other dogs and loves to play, but if bullied will stand up for himself and set the other dog straight without doing any harm. He is crate trained and house trained. His obedience is EXCELLENT. He knows "touch," "sit," "down," "off," "up" and "leave it." He will pull a bit on a leash if excited, but wears a Gentle Leader head collar and does well with it. He loves food (any kind will do), play, toys and long walks on the beach. Won't you be his companion? Apply at https://www.ewenityfarmsbch.com
