Story
Blue Bell is a sweet but high energy pup! She is overall just very kind and affectionate and absolutely loves affection from you as well. When taking her out to play she loves a good game of fetch and her favorite toy is of course, the tennis ball! Blue Bell also loves going for walks and enjoying her time with you. She does have a habit of pulling on the leash when excited but we are currently working with her on that. She does know a couple tricks already to impress you with such a sit and down! She seems to do well with other dogs but a meet and greet would still be required for her. She does not like cats and will lunge at them so a home without cats would be best for our girl.

Story
Hi, I`m Sally!I came to the shelter with a litter of puppies and spent some time in foster care raising them. Now that they are grown and ready for homes of their own, so am I!My foster says I really love my people and want to be loved on constantly. I appear to be crate trained and slept through the night in the crate perfectly. I do have tendencies that are typical of my breed like being a little mouthy and vocal when aroused. But I don`t want to be a boss and take redirection fine. I am extremely food motivated and will do anything for a treat. I also walk nicely on leash unless I want to get to somewhere, then I may pull a little bit. I also do well with other dogs and will take correction from them fine if I`m playing too rough for them. I prefer dogs under my energy level - those at or above my energy level may be a little too intense for me.I am heartworm positive and have started treatment, but I will need to return to the shelter a few times over the next few months to complete the treatment. But no worries - my treatment is fully covered by Pet Alliance and is included with adoption. If you think I`d be a good fit for your family and you can give this retired momma a nice home to settle down in, come on down to the Sanford shelter and meet me today!

Story
Howdy! I’m Tex, and I’m a 5-year-old heeler. I made a long trip from the streets of Texas to Florida after I was rescued after a large flood. I'm an adventurous guy who enjoys spending time with my favorite people. My favorite hobbies include swimming and sunbathing - I can do that all day! I can be selective of new people at first, as I hold myself in high esteem. Once I to get to know you, I am one of the most loyal, caring, and intelligent dogs in all the land. I get along with most dogs, and I am open to meeting cats with a proper introduction. With the right person and a steady routine, I know I can settle into your home and be your loyal companion. I’ve lived most of my life in a shelter - please, take a chance on me!

Story
This is Tucker. He is super sweet and wants to please you. He has a lot of energy, so needs an active family. Loves to play fetch. I’m going through a divorce and will be moving into an apartment. Tucker is not an apartment dog. He’s not an incessant barker, but when he barks it’s loud. He’s crate trained. He wakes up early. He really is the sweetest boy. His one challenging behavior is that he pees when he meets people 🙄 from excitement, not fear. The vet assured me he will out grow it.
