Story
From Jerry's Foster Family-Jerry (AKA Bear- we had to call him Bear to avoid name confusion) is a loveable snuggle bug! He LOVES to be right next to you at all times. He gets along with other animals (an Aussie and two cats), but he definitely wants to get all the attention. We feel he would thrive as the only animal, or at least the only dog in the house. Jerry is comfortable in his crate at night and while we are gone. If we are outside with him in the yard, he remains off leash, but he does like to herd so we put him on a run if we're going to be in and out. Toys are his love language and playing tug of war. During car rides, which he is eager to go on, it is imperative to monitor the windows. His fearlessness and joy of riding in the car is how he broke his leg and received an amputation. The loss of his back leg did not slow him down at all; he runs and plays like he did before! We have stairs in the house, but he manages just fine. He is very healthy and up to date on all vaccines. We have him followed by Stateline Hillcrest Animal Hospital. Our family loves Jerry so much and wants him to find the perfect forever home! Our Aussie just can't handle the competition.

Story
Squirrel was brought to the shelter as a stray who had been hanging around 5-Point for about a week. Unfortunately, he didn`t have a microchip and he went unclaimed during his hold, so he was processed and moved up to the adoption floor to find a new family. He can be a little skittish at first, but once he realizes you`re a friend, he lets his playful personality shine through. He enjoys watching other dogs and seems like he would do well with a playmate, though he has not had the opportunity to do so yet. He doesn`t seem to have had training in is past, but he loves being put to work and is very eager to please.Macon County Animal Control and Care Center is open and running operations as normal. Story
This good looking fella is Curly; he's a 4.5-month old Cattle Dog/Pit Bull mix. He currently weighs about 20 pounds and will likely be a large dog when full grown.  Curly is your typical playful puppy, although he's a little bit shy. He loves spending time playing in the yard, which is where he warms up the fastest with new people. His foster parents think he'll do well in most environments, including families with children. Curly is a special guy who gets along with every person and dog. Although he loves to cuddle, he'll play with the other dogs until you sit down, then he wants to be with you. He's the happiest little guy and will smile when you talk to him.  Like most puppies, Curly is working on house-training. He knows the commands "sit" and "kennel," and he's quiet in the kennel. Curly sleeps with his foster parents in bed, where he likes to snuggle near their faces.  If you're looking for a travel buddy, Moe probably isn't the right fit.  This poor boy gets car sick.  But if you're looking for a mellow cuddle buddy, he's your guy! Curly's foster parents mentions that he loves treats, and he's learning to wait and take them gently. "He's all around one of the best puppies we've fostered."  He's so chill! He'd be a great puppy for a first time puppy owner. If you'd like to add this sweet boy to your family, apply today!  His minimum adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Moe is the sweetest 4.5-month old Cattle Dog/Pit Bull mix. He currently weighs about 26 pounds and will likely be a large dog when he's full grown.  This handsome hunk of love gives the best cuddles and kisses. Moe is a very chill boy, and he's much more playful after coming out of his shell. Running around the backyard and chasing balls are his favorite activities. He returns the balls to his foster mom 75% of the time.  Moe gets along with cats and is respectful of their space. Although Moe ignores the cat most of the time, he occasionally wants to play, but stops when the cat has had enough. His favorite place is with his human, curled up (as close as possible) while watching TV. Moe's foster mom believes he would do well with any family, although he hasn't been around children while in the foster home. He does great in his crate and is making progress with housetraining. If you'd like to add this sweet boy to your family, apply today!  His minimum adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. Story
Hello everyone! My name is Blue. Do you know that I am considered a master fetch player for my insane fetching skills? I can catch anything you throw at me, except Frisbees. I have no idea what this flat piece of plastic is but I will give it another go if you want. I have amazing leaping skills. Thank goodness my foster parents have a high fence so it will keep me safe. I am a medium sized dude with the energy and excitement of 10 dogs. I am learning to try and control myself. Not gonna lie, it's hard but I listen when my foster parents tell me to sit....mostly. I think I am looking for a home with a family that can handle a very energetic dog like myself. I am very vocal when I go outside. I have to say hello to the other dogs in the neighborhood. I keep yelling at the squirrel in the tree. My foster parents tell me it's not nice to yell. I don't trust squirrels. I have to keep the yard safe. I may be a little crazy but my foster parents say I have the biggest heart. I will love you like no other and do my best to please you. I have foster sisters and a foster brother here that I play hard with. I do get overly excited when playing but they keep me in line. I also think I would like to be an only child. I love getting all the belly rubs and attention. Did I mention I can sit, stay, and shake on command? Oh and I am potty trained. Who pees in the house?! Gross! If you are looking to join me as a champion fetch player we will make a great team! Love and kisses, Blue Adoption fee is $299 and is available now. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities!
