Tucker is a cattle dog mix with a soft soul and an even softer spot for cuddles. His expressive eyes and sweet demeanor make it easy to fall in love, but his gentle, affectionate nature truly sets him apart. Tucker thrives on close bonds and adores nothing more than curling up in your lap—he even loves being held like a baby. He’s a true cuddlebug! He is looking for a home without other pets or children. He’ll do best with experienced adopters who can give him the attention and one-on-one companionship he craves. If you're searching for a devoted companion who just wants to be by your side (or in your arms), Tucker may be the perfect match. Tucker is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccines!

Story
Blue is an attractive, male, small 28 pound Australian Cattle Dog who is about 3-4 years old. People he meets on his neighborhood walks frequently comment on what a beautiful dog he is. He arrived in foster care in poor health. He has responded to good medical care and now is on no medications and only needs prescription dogfood to keep his chronic GI condition in check. Blue is an affectionate, sweet pooch who has capacity to bond strongly with his family. However, when he first meets people, he is suspicious of them and worried that their outreached hands mean they will hit him not pet him. We know he was abandoned and speculate that he was abused. He would live best with a person or family without small children and cats. At the dog park Blue runs playfully with all the other dogs. He is friendly and interactive. When he meets other dogs while he is on a leash, he is more apt to be reactive. He would enjoy playing with a family’s other dogs especially in a fenced back yard. Is Blue housebroken? Well, sort of. He can sleep through the night with no problem at all as his last drink is an hour before his last walk of the night. But during the day he has to pee shortly after drinking water. So, he is on a water/pee schedule to manage this. One can only speculate that he was never house trained as a pup or perhaps never lived indoors. But now he is adapting to an indoor life and learning new behaviors. HIs ideal owner would be a person who is consistent and positive with him. Blue is a smart dog who would benefit from formal dog training sessions with his new owner. This would encourage the bonding process between them and help him learn the behaviors that are expected of him. With this training and some patience and understanding, Blue would give back to ‘his person’ unlimited affection and devotion. Blue has been chipped and neutered and is up to date on all of his vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies, heartworm preventative, flea and tick preventative and deworming. If you would like to meet him, contact Teri at 630-897-7454. His adoption fee of $275 is negotiable to the right family. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming
