Story
Meet Arlo, our gorgeous 4-year-old, Australian Cattle Dog! He sadly was returned due to unforeseen circumstances in his home, so we are hoping to get him back into a comfy home again soon. He weighs in at about 70lbs right now, and we are working to help him get his weight down. Arlo is a super sweet dog, who enjoys spending time with people and playing with toys. He doesn't seem to care about the other dogs he's been around. Arlo walks nicely on leash, as well. This boy is a great dog, and we love him so much! We'd love to see him back in a home where he can be comfy and less stressed.

CHARACTERISTICS Friendly, Affectionate, Loyal, Gentle, Playful, Funny, Loves Kisses HEALTH Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered. GOOD IN A HOME WITH Children. Cats unknown. Meet our most precious, Patch! A staff and volunteer favorite this super lovable girl will without a doubt steal your heart with her wagging tail and big brown eyes. She loves to go for walks and cuddle up with her favorite humans. Patch is an affectionate mama to 3 beautiful pups who took very good care of their healthy development and now it's Patch's turn to be spoiled rotten! While Patch socializes with our dogs Patch would do best in a home where she can be your one & only! Our love bug's adoption fee is $350 which includes being fully vetted, spayed, microchipped and fecal exam. Please open your heart and most loving home to this REALLY AMAZING angel! Note: All dogs require a $100 cash training deposit. Once confirmation of the completion of a training class has been sent to the rescue, you will receive your deposit back in full. As we are a rescue all of our adult dogs/puppies for adoption must be spayed or neutered. Although we make every attempt to have this done before finding their adoptive families, this is not always possible. Please speak with your adoption coordinator to see of this service has already been performed or they will explain to you if your new dog/puppy will need this service while in your care at no cost to you. When emailing please include your phone number to help speed up the adoption process. Also, for the safety of our dogs we only adopt within a 2 hour radius of Joliet, Illinois, to allow our volunteers to do home checks if necessary.

Story
Meet Sammy-It's been a few weeks since Sammy has joined our rescue and we wanted to give an update on him. We believe he is around 4 years old; Heeler/terrier/pointer mix. He is housebroken, he doesn't need a crate he- he is great in the house. He has just finished most of his vetting, He is so sweet and loves you instantly, he loves to cuddle and gives kisses. We haven't found anything that he's afraid of but he seems to like to go outside at night to go potty and come back inside he doesn't like to stay outside too long. Does not like to go out when dark outside. He is great in the car he does need assistance to get in the car but he does jump out of the car. He did great with all the dog testing at animal control. Story
Hi there, my name is Vanessa and I'm about 8 months old. I'm a really pretty young gal. If you have seen my pictures my coat is a reversed brindle. My Rescuers are guessing at my breed because sadly when I was found as a stray, I had no history about me. So if you had to guess my breeding I'm a Cattle dog maybe mixed with Pitbull. What does that mean? I'm your All-American Mutt but I'm a smart All-American Mutt. As I mentioned I was found as a stray. I didn't know where my home was so the AC Handlers brought me to a TN shelter. From there, I went on a van that they call the Freedom Ride. It's where a bunch of doggies and kitties drive for like forever up North. I saw my foster Mom when she opened the van, and I wasn't scared. I knew right then I my future is going to be much better than what I had in TN. I'm in a foster home that has other foster dogs that are close to my age or size, and we play all day long. We sleep in our own crates and I'm a good girl and don't make a mess. I will give out a yip or a bark when I need to go potty. I love getting my food in my crate and I look for more when the other dogs are done. Who would have thought being a foster doggie I would be so pampered. Speaking of being pampered, my foster Mom took me to the doggie vet and I woo-ed everyone. They thought I had a really pretty coat and they thought I was silly when I gave them kisses or did tricks for my treats. I know SIT and give PAW. My best command is "Vanessa, be pretty". Gees, that's a no brainer. I had to take a test that my doggie vet did for me and sadly the test results said I'm heartworm positive. My foster Mom said, "it's not our first time" and she's prepared to make sure I am taken care of, and I will find the best home for me. There's more information on my heart worm status below. I get to play with all the doggies here and there's cats too. I ignore the cats. I watch the other dogs get into their food or litterbox but not me - I rather play with dogs or my own toys. I love playing with a ball or a stuffed animal. I don't think I had any of those great toys when I lived in TN. I've been around kids and oh boy, do I like them. Know what else I didn't have in TN - snow. What is with this white stuff? I love to put my muzzle into the snow, and I look silly. I don't mind the cold. My foster Mom put a sweater on me because she thought I would be cold - you know, being a Southern Gal but I don't mind the cold. One day I am going to have a forever family of my own. While I wait for my family I will play with the other dogs and learn new things. I'm sure I'm going to get cuter. I weigh 29# now so I might grow up to be a medium-large size girl. Some might call that stocky. When I meet my forever family we can go for a walk, and I will show how well I listen and walk on a leash. Maybe when you bring me to your house, I will have my own doggie bed, or I can curl up on your lap when you watch TV. I will always be your loyal pup because you chose me and I promise to make you laugh. Can't wait to meet you! Vanessa Vanessa's heartworm: One, it is not contagious to other dogs, cats or Humans. Dogs get infected by a mosquito when they are not taking heart worm preventions. Vanessa will need to be given heart worm preventions for the rest of her life to avoid being inflicted again. Treatment involves: 28 days of Doxycycline and then 3 scheduled imiticide injections by a licensed vet. When Vanessa gets adopted, Treasured Animal Rescue will cover all of the heart worm treatment provided you go to one our rescue affiliated veterinarian clinics. Any questions regarding Vanessa's heart worm please send an email to: info@treasuredanimalrescueinc.org Please do not stop Vanessa's heartworm prognosis stop you from adopting this amazing Beauty. Itsy is located in our foster home in Aurora. Story
Macho is a sweet and smart 2 year old 50 lb red heeler mix in need of a loving fur-ever home! He is crate and potty trained, but is still working on queues as to show when he needs to go out. He sleeps wonderfully in his crate at night with no issues. He would thrive the best with a family who has someone home with him most of the time to give lots of snuggles, attention and play time. Even a fur-sibling would make him a happy boy! A big, fenced in back yard with room to run and play would be ideal. Macho is wonderful with everyone that he meets, people and other dogs alike. He would be best suited in a home without kids under the age of 4, as he isn’t quite sure what to make of them. He is also great in the car and loves car rides! Macho stole our hearts with his sweet, loving nature but our home with a toddler and lack of a large play space is allowing us to find him a better suited home for his needs. This dog is altered and up to date on shots. If you would like to meet this dog please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming
