Story
Orlo will be 2 years old in April 2, 2026. I got him as a rescue when he was 2 months old. He is extremely friendly, energetic, and smart. He has a jumping problem because he wants to give everyone hugs and kisses. He does great on a leash aside from some pulling at first and will sit and heel on command. He knows a lot of other tricks as well. Hes excellent with potty training and has not had an accident in the house in over a year. Hes never been remotely aggressive with other dogs, but he can be annoying as he often doesnt get when they have had enough play. He can play for hours by himself, especially outside. His biggest problem area is that he is kennel aggressive. When stressed, he will kennel himself and bark/lunge/and growl at anyone nearby. He’ll eventually snap out of it and be fine in the kennel. He has never actually bitten anyone in this state and it seems to be anxiety based. My ideal adopter would be someone with land where he can roam for most of the day.

Story
Weight: 54 lbs 💙🐾 Meet Bandit – An Energetic Soul with a Playful Spark! 🐾💙 Bandit is a handsome blue heeler mix with a shy, thoughtful personality and a heart full of potential. He may take a little time to warm up, but once he feels comfortable, his playful side shines. Especially when it’s time to play fetch, his absolute favorite game! This smart boy already knows how to sit and shake, showing off his brains along with his good manners. As a herding breed, Bandit has natural instincts that can make living with other small animals a bit challenging for him because he lives for the chase. Bandit would do best with an active family and a large space to run and play. Before arriving at the shelter; Bandit lived out in the country with a ton of space and a nearby pond and regularly went on long runs. A constantly low activity environment could be frustrating for him, which may not reflect well. Dogs: No Thank you! Cats: No thank you!! Kids: No Tiny Tots due to herding tendencies!!

Story
Courtesy Post: Meet Mabel! Mabel is a roughly 3 year old Australian Cattle Dog female who is looking for her forever home. Mabel is good with other dogs but likes to have a few minutes to warm up to them. She does need a home without cats (She will chase cats but not sure if she will do more than that.) Mabel has been around kids ages 8 and older. Mabel is very sweet and loves spending time with her people. She is a total velcro pup who would love nothing more than to be the center of someone's life. Mabel is so full of life and so comical to watch! She LOVES to play with toys, especially balls! If you aren't paying attention she will entertain herself by throwing her ball for herself lol! Mabel is crate trained and is crated if/when unsupervised. Mabel will need continued work with obedience training and learning how to be part of someone's family. She will need time to acclimate to a new home and routine. Mabel has been spayed, vaccinated and heartworm tested negative. Mabel's adoption fee is $250. Mabel would not be a good candidate for apartment living. Mabel is located just outside of Alexandria Indiana. Please research this breed before inquiring. Please speak with your family and/or significant other prior to applying for adoption for Mabel. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.adoption fee $350.00 Cooper is a young Cattle Dog/Terrier mix with a bright mind and a big heart. He’s making great progress with potty training, does well in his crate, and loves playing with the pets in his foster home. He’s currently learning his leash manners and, like many herding breeds, has plenty of energy to spare—a fenced yard would be nice but not a requirement. We think Cooper has the potential to really shine in agility or other active training activities! Before adopting, we always encourage families to research the breed to make sure the energy level, temperament, and lifestyle needs are a good match. Cooper is an amazing pup who will thrive with an active family ready to help him reach his full potential. New foster dogs need time to feel safe. They may be skittish or fearful, so always stay with them outside—even in fenced yards. Ensure collars and leashes fit securely to prevent escapes. Your gentle presence and protection help them feel loved and secure. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 13 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary.  The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heartworm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, and vaccination record. Story
We fostered and then adopted Benny when he was 6 weeks old. We aren’t sure what breed he is, but he looks like an Australian Shepherd mix. He is a cuddle bug and has tons of energy. He would be a great fit for someone really active who can take him on walks/runs frequently. He is house trained and does not have any accidents inside. He has some resource guarding tendencies with food/water and his sleep space. He is reactive and has anxiety. When he feels scared or threatened he has nipped/bit in the past(mostly surrounding his food area or if he is startled out of a sleep. He is almost 7 years old, but still has the energy that he had as a puppy. Due to his reactive nature, he would not be a good fit around young children. He has been good around other animals in the past, but it has been several years since he has been around other animals, so I’m not sure how he would be now. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
