Story
Meet Red Sedona — a striking pure Red Heeler whose beauty is only matched by her incredible spirit. At just 2 years old, she has already done the hard work of raising six puppies, showing unwavering devotion and strength along the way. Now that her babies are off to find their own homes, Sedona is ready for something she’s never truly had before—a family all her own. Sedona is the kind of dog who leaves an impression the moment you meet her. According to her foster mom (a self-proclaimed Corgi enthusiast), she’s everything you could hope for in a Heeler—intelligent, loyal, intuitive, and deeply affectionate. She doesn’t just want to be near her people—she wants to be part of everything you do. Whether she’s curled up beside you, resting at your feet, or gently sneaking into your lap, Sedona’s love is constant and genuine. She does wonderfully with children over 6, showing a natural respect for boundaries and an ability to listen when corrected. She’s eager to learn and thrives on guidance, already knowing basic commands like “sit” and picking up new skills quickly—her dog door success in under five days is just one example of how sharp she is. Like many Heelers, Sedona has a gentle herding instinct and may softly mouth at fingers as you move about. It’s her way of communicating, not hurting, and she responds very well to redirection. With consistency and love, she continues to blossom into an incredibly well-mannered companion. She’s a dream on a leash, happy to walk calmly by your side, and just as content to relax quietly for hours while you work or unwind. And when her playful side comes out, expect plenty of affection—she’s earned a reputation as a champion kisser and isn’t shy about sharing it. Sedona may take a little extra time to warm up to men, but once she feels safe, her loyalty runs deep. She’s looking for a home that will appreciate her intelligence, embrace her loving nature, and give her the stability she deserves.   SHE MUST HAVE A FENCED YARD After giving so much of herself so young, Red Sedona is ready to be cherished—not as a mama, but as the beloved companion she was always meant to be.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 10, 2026, 5:08 pm

Hagen Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix Age: 2y+/-, Male Weight: 45 pds Medical: UTD on all vaccines, Neutered, microchipped Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: Yes; but dog selective Kid Friendly: Unknown, Recommending Ages 12+ Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Location: Cape Cod, MA Hagen is a confident youngest for a cattle dog around new people. He is open to meeting both people and exploring new environments. His one negative is that he does like to bark, especially when he needs to go the bathroom or hears loud noises or other dogs going out. He is very playful, and recently started showing interest in toys and he LOVES to steal things when you’re not looking and run away with them (paper towel, broom, duster, etc). His name should be changed to Bandit, LOL! He is dog selective and is has some fear reactivity when leashed and/orconfined in crate but it’s very manageable. Hagen is a pup that still has a lot of learning to do as he came from a backyard breeder only to be dumped i

Story
Latte Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix Age: 1 years old +/- Weight: 45 lbs Medical: Up To Date on Vaccinations, microchipped, neutered Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes, Recommend 10+ House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Location: Maine Latte is the epitome of a cattle dog. Energetic, vocal, strong, busy and very forthcoming with his affection towards people. He will even sit in chairs with you and get as close as possible in bed. Body slamming is another way he shows his love for you. If you're playing tug of war, he will always be the champ! Fetch is his all-time favorite, and he will go get the ball and bring it back for hours if you wanted. Anything you're doing he wants to do. Playing in or with water or even jumping on a trampoline. Latte loves children and their energy but older children only, due to his rough play. Recommend that he is the only dog or with another of the same nature. He can get distracted by herding or wrestling the other dog which deters his listening skills. No cats or small animals. He is crate trained and very good with learning new things. A strict food and potty schedule work best for him. Happiness radiates off of him, and he would do well with someone who can match his energy and strength. He is a great listener and crates well. He does still need more leash training. He has a lot of possibilities; this sweet boy is a blank slate looking for a job! If you enjoy doing dog sports, this would be your boy! Breed: ACD mixAge/Sex: M 1-2 yearsWeight: 58 lbsCat Friendly: unknownDog Friendly: yes, with proper introductionsKid Friendly: yes but is exuberant and strong.  Would probably knock over small kids by accidentCrate Trained: yes for sleeping and short periods during the day.  Has not been tested for longer periods.House Trained: mostlyLocation: Burlington, VT Cowboy is a young ACD mix originally from Texas who has nothing but joy and delight for everything he does and everyone he meets.  We don’t know much about his backstory, but he is incredibly sweet, joyful and desperately wants to be a Good Boy and to have someone he can love with his WHOLE heart.  He hasn’t yet met a stranger, and true to his breed, he’s game for pretty much any adventure when he can do it with his person.  We’ve gone running and hiking, he comes to work at my horse farm, he’s visited other people in their homes, and has an excellent off switch when he’s gotten enough exercise and mental stimulation. Everywhere we’ve been people have commented on how sweet he is.  He lives very peacefully with my older Husky/Mal mix and is respectful of her space.  They do engage and play and are absolutely fine everywhere we go together.Cowboy is mostly housetrained, he still has occasional accidents, but it’s getting better and better as he settles into a home routine.  He sleeps very peacefully through the night in his crate, but is not a big fan of being left in it for longer periods of time.  Both of these issues just need time and patient training.  He does try to herd my horses and will nip at moving things, especially when playing or with livestock.  His recall is coming along and he’s learning to sit, stay, wait and heel although none of these are fully confirmed yet.  He’s been learning leash manners and although he’s still very strong at times, it’s improving every day.Cowboy would do best in a house with ACD experience and no small children or unattended animals, such as chickens, he is so exuberant he’d knock small kids over and I don’t think he could help himself with chickens.  With other livestock he will need supervision and learn redirection.                Cowboy is a spectacular dog, he’s SO sweet and funny and joyful.  Want an Adventure Buddy that wants to do it ALL with YOU? Story
Name: Maile Breed: Cattle Dog Mix Age/Sex: ~4.5 yrs old F(s) Weight: 72# and going down! Medical: possible arthritis in back left leg Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: No Kid Friendly: No Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Location: New Jersey Bio: The name "Maile" is Hawaiian. People from Jersey pronounce it "Miley". She had a rough start, being bought from a pet store and then kept in a bedroom. At around 2 yrs old she landed herself in the shelter circulation... for 2 1/2 years. She gained a bit of weight in the shelter. Maile has lost 11+ lbs since she's been in a home on the correct diet. Maile has been in a foster home for almost 3 months now, and is doing absolutely fabulous! She's currently on Tase of the Wild Ancient Grains with Salmon, with some pure pumpkin mixed in. She also gets a hip & joint supplement as she may have arthritis in her back left leg. Maile knows sit, stay, paw, other paw, high five, down, spin, get it, and place. She is currently attending basic training classes at J&R Kennel in Lakehurst where she's learning something new every week! She does have a very high prayer drive, but listens to and adores her handler. She is always ready for work, and loves to learn new things! Although she has the cattle dog energy, she also loves to just lay around the house. She is obsessed with toys, and very good with them! She is non-destructive in and of the home, and goes right in her crate when she sees you getting ready to leave. She is a little nervous if there's a bad storm coming, but she's fine with fireworks and any other loud noises. I'm sure she would love to sleep with her human at night, but I don't think she ever has. Currently, her bedtime is 10 PM and she goes right in her crate. I think she would love to go swimming, but she is deathly afraid of towels, so drying her off would be a hurdle! Maile would do great in a home with breed experience, no other pets, no kids, and preferably women only. She needs someone who understands her, someone who will have her meet company outside with treats, or just put her away when company comes over. She is also sensitive to touch in some spots, and needs someone who will go very slow with her, and continue training her with the basket muzzle. She has a lot of little quirks, half of which is because she was not probably socialized, and the other half is just because she's a cattle dog!
