Story
Dodge is a toung, strikingly handsome Blue Heeler/Lab mix with a bright spirit to match his good looks. About one year old and weighing 43 pounds, this mostly black shiny boy has a beautiful gray-speckled chest that gives him a regal, eye-catching look. With longer legs and a slimmer build than a typical Heeler, he carries himself with confidence and athletic grace. Whatever breeds make up his DNA, one thing is certain — Dodge is sweet, playful, and incredibly smart.   Dodge’s story began in the countryside, where he arrived at a rental home alongside a female Heeler mix and their six puppies. When the family couldn’t keep dogs, a cattle dog rescue stepped in to save the puppies, the mama was rehomed, and Dodge found his way to Critter Cavalry Rescue so he could be fully vetted and matched with the perfect home. Still very much a puppy at heart, Dodge brings goofy charm, happy energy, and a love of life wherever he goes. A fenced yard and an active household will help him burn off his enthusiasm and enjoy the adventures he craves.   He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all ages and sizes, is respectful of cats, and would likely be a hit with kids who can keep up with his playful nature. Dodge is learning leash skills quickly and would make an excellent walking partner. He’s eager to learn, quick to please, and happiest when he’s close to his people, watching over them and soaking up attention. With continued training, Dodge is going to be an incredible lifelong companion. If you’re ready for a fun, smart, and loyal sidekick, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and tell us your city and state. Transport is available from Tennessee to the northeastern states. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 6, 2026, 11:52 pm

Hagen Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix Age: 2y+/-, Male Weight: 45 pds Medical: UTD on all vaccines, Neutered, microchipped Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: Yes; but dog selective Kid Friendly: Unknown, Recommending Ages 12+ Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Location: Cape Cod, MA Hagen is a confident youngest for a cattle dog around new people. He is open to meeting both people and exploring new environments. His one negative is that he does like to bark, especially when he needs to go the bathroom or hears loud noises or other dogs going out. He is very playful, and recently started showing interest in toys and he LOVES to steal things when you’re not looking and run away with them (paper towel, broom, duster, etc). His name should be changed to Bandit, LOL! He is dog selective and is has some fear reactivity when leashed and/orconfined in crate but it’s very manageable. Hagen is a pup that still has a lot of learning to do as he came from a backyard breeder only to be dumped i

Story
Name: Jack Breed: ACD Labrador Mix Age/Sex: 2.5 years; Male Weight: approximately 50lbs Medical: up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped Cat Friendly: Yes Dog Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes Crate Trained: Yes, however, freaks out and barks a lot House Trained: In Training Location: Alabama Jack and his sister Jill are two of many unfortunate dogs that found themselves abandoned by their owners and then brought to a high kill shelter in the South. His sister, Jill, was lucky to be adopted. Jack, though, was what we call an eleventh-hour rescue. We had a fabulous foster step up for him before he ran out of time. Now this handsome devil is looking for his forever home! Jack is a Velcro dog with some anxiety. He wants to be with his person all the time. He loves cuddling and playing with toys. He walks wonderfully on lead and does not pull. He is not a barker, except in the crate. He loves playing with other dogs and is very gentle with small dogs and cats. Jack is not food or toy aggressive. He is an inquisitive dog that loves figuring things out. He is very playful and does not jump on people. He loves to climb, and because he feels like a Mountain Climber in Training we are currently working on not jumping on tables. He is treat-motivated and knows the following commands: come and sit. You honestly could not ask for a bigger love bug and he loves to give kisses! He is an explorer that likes to go on expeditions when left alone, so though he may not love his crate it is best to crate him when he is left alone, or your home may not be left in the same condition! Jack is also a crowd pleaser and loves to meet strangers! He loves people of all ages. Do be warned, he prefers not to sleep alone, so be ready for company! After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered. Jack’s adoption donation is $450 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and Spay/Neuter depending on age at time of adoption. If the dog is too young for a spay/neuter, then they will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract and $100 deposit. We do not have a physical shelter; all our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.

Story
Latte Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix Age: 1 years old +/- Weight: 45 lbs Medical: Up To Date on Vaccinations, microchipped, neutered Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes, Recommend 10+ House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Location: Maine Latte is the epitome of a cattle dog. Energetic, vocal, strong, busy and very forthcoming with his affection towards people. He will even sit in chairs with you and get as close as possible in bed. Body slamming is another way he shows his love for you. If you're playing tug of war, he will always be the champ! Fetch is his all-time favorite, and he will go get the ball and bring it back for hours if you wanted. Anything you're doing he wants to do. Playing in or with water or even jumping on a trampoline. Latte loves children and their energy but older children only, due to his rough play. Recommend that he is the only dog or with another of the same nature. He can get distracted by herding or wrestling the other dog which deters his listening skills. No cats or small animals. He is crate trained and very good with learning new things. A strict food and potty schedule work best for him. Happiness radiates off of him, and he would do well with someone who can match his energy and strength. He is a great listener and crates well. He does still need more leash training. He has a lot of possibilities; this sweet boy is a blank slate looking for a job! If you enjoy doing dog sports, this would be your boy!
