🎉 Meet Casper — the shy guy with the heart of gold (and the soul of a professional belly-rub enthusiast)! 🎉 Casper is a one-year-old Cattle Dog mix who’s trading in his “crowded roommate lifestyle” (he used to live with 15 other dogs!) for a cozier setup with a human or two who appreciate his charm and cuddles. He was politely “evicted” from his old digs, but honestly — we think it’s the best thing that could’ve happened to him. New chapter, new leash on life! 🐾 Casper is currently working on perfecting his leash skills. Translation: he’s figuring out that leashes aren’t snakes and walks are actually kinda fun. He’s even started going potty on leash — what a star student! 🌟 Once he decides you’re one of the good ones, he’ll roll over and demand belly rubs like a total pro. This sweet boy can get a little overwhelmed by dogs who are too ‘in your face,’ so he appreciates calm canine friends and people who understand gentle encouragement. Slow, positive introductions help him feel safe and confident. In his foster home, he’s done great with one or two relaxed dogs who respect his space. Hi, I’m Olive! 🫒 What do you need to know about me? Well to start off, in super public places I get pretty scared. The first part of my life was a little rocky, and I didn't get to socialize as much, so public spaces overwhelm me. BUT in my foster house I’m a playful, loving girl whose foster parents say is SMART! I love learning new tricks- I know how to sit, shake, touch, jump, and play with my ball launcher. My foster mom and I have a lot of fun learning new tricks together! Our latest adventure is agility work. In the house, I’m ALL about the fun. I love playing fetch (seriously, I could do it for hours), playing with my toys, and when the weather is nice, HIKING! I love to hit those trails! I also get along great with my furry foster siblings and would love a friend to play with! I’m a gem. Meet Frannie 🐾 Frannie is a young cattle dog mix with a big heart and classic puppy energy. She’s affectionate, playful, and loves being around people and other dogs. Frannie does best with plenty of physical exercise, mental enrichment, and lots of durable chew toys to keep her busy and happy. She’s still working on her basic manners and will need continued training, especially with leash skills. Frannie can be a little anxious and may take some time to settle into a new home, so a patient adopter who understands the importance of decompression time will help her thrive. Because she can be vocal, a home without shared walls is ideal. Frannie plays well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion, though it’s not required. She’s been exposed to cats and does well with children ages 4 and up. Her new home will need a 48” crate and an understanding of herding breeds and their unique needs. Adoption fee $350. This bummed her out a bit but she is hopeful she will be able to find a new home very soon. Kylie has been nervous since being in the shelter, and who can blame her? But slowly and surely she is warming up to the officers and learning the routine.Kylie would benefit from an owner that has Cattle Dog/herding dog experience as has a lot of very stereotypical `herding dog traits`. For example... she is very smart, stubborn, and opiniated. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lyra is about 2 years old and looks to be a shepherd/heeler type mix. She was found running loose, held for the LEGAL stray hold, and never claimed. She is very shy but becomes very loyal and loving companion once she's comfortable and secure. Lyra has been vet checked, spayed, chipped, and her fee is $150. Lyra has been adopted a couple of times and returned as she just hasn't been able to find the right fit yet. She is incredibly smart and learns quickly. However she does possess quite a few of the intense traits of a herding breed type dog. She is laser focused and needs both mental and physical exercise. She would love to have some type of job to do and would probably be a great candidate for agility training. She does tend to bond quite closely to one or two people and can be protective and territorial. Lyra needs an ADULT only home. She needs someone who is experience with herding breed types and their quirky personalities. She would love a home that is ready, willing, and able to continue with her training and helping her gain confidence. FENCED YARD needed. Lyra has done well with well mannered MALE dogs who respect her space. She does enjoy playing with other dogs once she's comfortable. Cats? Most likely a no. Cuddling is one of her favorite things. His family life recently changed drastically and he is back with us, due to no fault of his own. This was a very sad and difficult situation for all involved and we're happy that the family reached out to us about taking him back. Boo has been completely vetted, chipped, and his fee is $125. Boo is a medium sized dog who appears to be a mix of maybe cattle dog, husky, Australian shepherd, and rat terrier. He is now around 6 years old. He very much loves to be with his people and is affectionate and attentive. He would do best in a home in which he's not left alone for long hours. He is still pretty active, enjoys his exercise, and is also content to hang out and cuddle. He has done well with other dogs and kids. He has been okay with some adult cats but can be a tad rough when he tries to play with them. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
