Meet me at PetSmart #2087 in Memphis, Tn. 5883 Poplar Ave Saturday, October 7th from 11am to 2pm! Sweet, sensitive Dolly! Once just a yard dog thrown out in a field to survive with her two siblings. Dolly is about 3 years old, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, current on vaccines now, weighs 30 pounds, wormed, heartworm prevention, Nexgard for flea and tick protection. A lady living close by was feeding the girls and reached out for help. Dolly was with two other dogs stranded in a field in Luxahoma, Ms. She’s sort of shy but craves attention and perks up around children. (Note: no children in her foster home. Just an old lady with 10 dogs). But she loves seeing children at our adoption events. She would not be a good candidate for apartment living, still gaining confidence on leash walking. Needs a secure fenced in yard to play in safely. She will make a family a nice pet. She’s lap size just 30 pounds. She will let you know if anyone is approaching your home or your yard. She does need a bit more work on leash walking but is doing much better now. Walks, training, play dates, etc. Memphis will absolutely flourish in a home with children. If you have children, love wiggle   butts, and dog smiles then Beaux   is your dream dog.  He has a  personality for days, loves to learn, and seems to be a pretty quick study. He enjoys snuggling with his human, playing with his siblings, adventuring outside, and taste-testing frosties. This is Star. Star came in with her mom, Roxie (also available). She is a petite cattle dog mix. She is sweet, shy and already around 8 months old so she should not grow to be very big at all. She is not leash trained yet but loves treats and being petted. Star needs a human that will be patient and give her time to learn the basics like walking on a leash and being cuddled. Oscar was found abandoned as a small pup with his siblings on some rural property. Nobody knows how long they were there. Oscar needed surgery due to a broken leg. He needed pins placed to repair. After surgery he had to be on crate rest for weeks while his leg healed. He is outgoing and he has a great personality! Oscar is a fast learner, especially when treats are involved, and he has learned basic cues. He is very smart and curious. Oscar is good with other dogs, and he is in a foster home with multiple dogs. He loves to run and play, but also loves to lay down near his humans. His loves to snuggle! At night he snuggles up and settles right down for sleep, and sleeps all through the night. He enjoys being around his foster family's young grandchildren several days a week, and he is very good with them. Oscar is housebroken and crate trained (he doesn't love it - understandable since he was confined to it for weeks - and he will complain at first, but eventually settle down). He loves toys, especially balls and frisbees. Oscar rides well in a car, he enjoys going places. Oscar has an easy to care for coat. He is such a handsome, loving boy!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Marshall County Humane Society is now  following CDC guidelines for Covid-19 in order to keep everyone as safe as possible.  We are showing dogs and cats to prospective adopters, but only on the grounds outside our shelter. We will need appointment to show the animal and we will want to have social distancing of 6' while you are there and we are wearing masks.  We are doing Zoom interviews to see inside of your home since we aren't going into homes for home visit. We do come to your home before finalizing adoption to check  the security of your fence if you are adopting a dog.  Our dogs are given much care and attention and we treat every medical need of animal once we take them in.  MCHS is a limited intake adoption center. We are an all volunteer, non-profit organization. All of our animals are disease free, have been spayed/neutered and are up to date on shots. We charge a Dog adoption fee of $125 which includes a microchip. Our Cat adoption fee is $75.00. Most of our dogs will require a fenced yard. She was skin and bones when her foster family found her and has turned her into a loving, loyal and smart girl. She is great around young kids, doesn’t growl or bite, loves people and gets along well with other dogs. Crate trained and potty trained, she knows several commands.
