Story
Lita came in as a stray early November who was never claimed by her owners. She is now ready to find a forever family and hopes to never land in a shelter again! When Lita first arrived at the shelter, everyone thought she was a young puppy due to her size and excitable nature, but we were WRONG! Lita has all of her adult teeth and is at least a year old. If you're looking for a dog who will be forever young, Lita is your girl! She is definitely a go with the flow type of pup, and everything she does has a bit of spunkiness to it. Lita just loves life, people and wants to soak in all the experiences she can get. We won't lie, she can be a little over the top with her energy at times, but she is treat motivated and willing to learn. Lita just has a lot of drive with nowhere to put it, and would do really great if she had a job to do or could live with a family who had a pretty active lifestyle already. The BEST thing for Lita would be for her to live in a house with other dogs who she could play with. She really enjoys canine company, and would make a great pal to the dog you may already have. Despite her energy, she is pretty great with kiddos as well. November 21, 2023, 9:21 am

Story
Oscar was found abandoned as a small pup with his siblings on some rural property. Nobody knows how long they were there. Oscar needed surgery due to a broken leg. He needed pins placed to repair. After surgery he had to be on crate rest for weeks while his leg healed. He is outgoing and he has a great personality! Oscar is a fast learner, especially when treats are involved, and he has learned basic cues. He is very smart and curious. Oscar is good with other dogs, and he is in a foster home with multiple dogs. He loves to run and play, but also loves to lay down near his humans. His loves to snuggle! At night he snuggles up and settles right down for sleep, and sleeps all through the night. He enjoys being around his foster family's young grandchildren several days a week, and he is very good with them. Oscar is housebroken and crate trained (he doesn't love it - understandable since he was confined to it for weeks - and he will complain at first, but eventually settle down). He loves toys, especially balls and frisbees. Oscar rides well in a car, he enjoys going places. Oscar has an easy to care for coat. He is such a handsome, loving boy!

In addition, our coordinators offer as much information regarding the medical and behavioral and personality characteristics as is known to our organization. Without them, and our extremely generous donors, we would not be able to save as many animals as we do every day. With each adoption, we operate a Pay It Forward program, whenever possible, to help other animals in our rescue and future animals in need.
