Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Let me introduce you to Annie ❤️   Annie is a beautiful Red Heeler with a heart to match. While she’s been raising her puppies, she’s also been showing everyone exactly who she is—and it’s something special.   Her foster mom says if she didn’t already have five dogs of her own, Annie would be staying. That alone tells you everything you need to know.   Annie has all the best traits of a cattle dog—she’s smart, attentive, loyal, and deeply connected to her people. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of your world, whether that’s helping you with daily life or simply being by your side.   And underneath that classic Heeler intelligence is a very sweet, gentle soul. She’s loving, steady, and has done an incredible job raising her puppies.   Annie is ready for a home of her own now—a place where she’s not just the mama, but someone’s heart dog.   If you know and love the spirit of a good cattle dog, Annie may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.   Apply to adopt Annie and give this wonderful girl the life she deserves. Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. We try to post videos for each pet so you can really get to know them. If you would like to find out more please email or call Diane at... diane@ulpr.org or 870-577-3744.   Please email us at diane@ulpr.org and request an application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 30, 2026, 9:21 pm

Story
AKIRA gets tons of praise from her foster. They say besides her beautiful looks, she's got a winning personality and loves others dogs (and great with cats, too!), and to play as well as a good snuggle. She's estimated young at 1-2 and fully vetted. She looks to be some kind of Corgi cattle dog type mix, and is fuly vetted and only 36 lbs, so a perfect lapful! She can be on the shyer side and really needs another playful dog in the home for confidence as well as a fenced yard. 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. 💜 Please click PURPLE BUTTON above to apply or go to www.secondhanddogrescue.com/apply ! ✍ APPLICATION PROCESSING: We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺 ADOPTION AREA: several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks)

Story
Meet MUMBLES! Mumbles is a beautiful 3 year old cattle dog mix. He is such a affectionate pup but does require an owner who understands the needs of his active breed (heeler/cattle dog). Mumbles is still very much a puppy and is VERY active, he can jump high so we do require applicants to always have him on a lead unless he's inside a 6' or higher fenced in yard. Mumbles is NOT good with other animals and needs to be the only animal in the home. He IS great with humans, though, including kids. Mumbles LOVES his humans, loves to play and would love a home to cuddle up by your side after a nice run in the yard. He does great with kids, responds to recall, and listens to commands. Mumbles is very obedient and eager to please his humans. 🤪 He is not a great dog to take neighborhood walks with - we do have a professional dog walker who does it successfully, but if Mumbles sees another dog, he WILL lunge towards them. Luckily he's not very big (~45 lbs) so he's manageable for most people. If someone were vigilant, neighborhood walks may be okay with head on a swivel or a quiet neighborhood, but Mums is super reactive to other dogs. He'd love best to have a big fenced in yard with a 7' fence - but barring that, a vigilant walker in a quieter neighborhood (no apartment complexes with shared courtyard area, for example) could work. His adoption fee is $100. ** He's also available as a part of our new Forever Foster program, where we can place him with an approved applicant as a member of their family at no cost, and we will cover all his vetting - regular, emergency, preventatives, vaccines - for life, as well as extra supports like transportation to appointments, and "boarding" if needed for vacations, FOR LIFE! Ask for more details.** 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). Story
You folks are in luck because we have a double dose of sunshine and happiness that will put a smile on your face!  Drum roll please!  Meet Beau, the gorgeous brother of Blue!  Beau is a Blue Heeler/Goldendoodle puppy who is currently in foster care here in Syracuse!  There is a lot of brotherly love going on in this foster's home!  Beau and Blue are currently with an amazing foster who is showering these pups with tons of love and care!  Beau is quite the explorer.  He is full of confidence and wants to be a part of everything!  Beau is extremely treat motivated which will help greatly with training.  Treats are his love language!  When Beau finally tires out, he loves to cuddle with his brother, Blue, or his foster family.  Beau is crate trained and like his brother, is sleeping in his crate from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. with no accidents.  Beau is using designated pee-pee pads inside.  He has been introduced to children and has done very well.  Beau has not been exposed to cats.  The brothers have started going on short leash walks and are doing very well for their age.  Breeds like Blue Heelers and Goldendoodles do well with active families who can keep them busy with the mental stimulation that they need.  A fenced in yard with room to run and play would be a huge plus!  Being a typical puppy he will need continued puppy training and continued socialization.  If you think that Beau would be the perfect addition to your family, please submit an application to give this gorgeous boy his forever home!  His $550 adoption fee covers vaccinations, neutering, microchipping, costs of fostering and transportation to NY.  We are certain you won't go wrong with this one......he is a gem!  ##2676131##

Story
If you are feeling "blue" and looking for a puppy to put a big smile on your face, boy, do we have the cure!  Seventh Heaven aims to please and we are anxious to introduce you to Blue!  He is one of two brothers who are Blue Heeler/Goldendoodle puppies who were surrendered by a breeder.  They are currently living with one of our amazing fosters here in Syracuse.  They are quickly growing, learning and soaking up all the love they can get!  Blue has white paws and is a gentle, sweet soul but has a playful side too.  Blue is the more "laid back" of the two brothers.  He loves belly rubs and in return, he will give you a couple of kisses!  After a play session with his brother, Blue loves to play with toys that squeak and rope toys and has no problem entertaining himself. Blue is crate trained and sleeps from 8:30 p.m. until 4:30 a.m. with no accidents.  He is using designated pee-pee pads inside as well.  Blue and his brother have started going on short leash walks and are doing very well for their ages.  Blue has had been introduced to children and has done very well.  He has not, however, had any exposure to cats.  Breeds like Blue Heelers and Goldendoodles do extremely well with active families that can keep them busy and provide the mental stimulation they need.  A fenced in yard with room to run around would certainly be a plus!  If you think that Blue would be the perfect addition to your family, please fill out an application.  Blue's $550 adoption fee covers the cost of vaccinations, neutering, microchipping, foster care and transportation to NY.  It's Spring and who can resist a new puppy with the summer ahead!  Come on, we know you want to give this boy his forever home! ##2676123##
