Story
Meet Coco, the sweetest adventure buddy who is ready to steal your heart and join your daily runs! About Coco Born in August 2018, this 7-year-old charmer has been a beloved family member since puppyhood. He is incredibly affectionate, always eager for cuddles and playtime. Personality Needs Coco thrives on activity and loves long runs, hikes, or any chance to burn energy — he has been missing our daily outings lately. His gentle, loving nature makes him perfect for an active family or individual who can match his enthusiasm and provide plenty of exercise. Why Rehoming Due to a increasingly busy schedule, Coco needs more time and attention than we can give right now. He is healthy, up-to-date on vaccines, and deserves a home where he can be the center of fun-filled days.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Here we have a very special group of pups ready to find their forever homes! ❤️ Their mother is Annie, seen here. The puppies are Madison, Bunny, Amber, Samantha, all girls. The boys are Barney, Merrick and Bailey.   Their mama is a beautiful, sweet Red Heeler with the gentlest soul. She has been an incredible mother—loving, patient, and devoted—and her puppies are following right in her paw prints.   These little ones are what we like to call All-American mutts—a perfect blend of who-knows-what and all the best things. We’re seeing hints of Aussie, Lab, Spaniel, and maybe a few mystery admirers along the way. (Fun fact: dogs can have more than one daddy in a litter, so their unique looks are part of their charm!)   What we do know for sure: ✨ They are incredibly sweet and affectionate ✨ Smart, curious, and eager to learn ✨ No food or toy aggression ✨ They play beautifully together and have wonderful social skills   These pups have been raised with love and it shows. They are well-balanced, happy, and should do wonderfully in a variety of homes—whether you’re an active family, a quieter household, or somewhere in between.   If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a heart full of love (and maybe a little bit of mystery mixed in), one of these babies just might be your perfect match.   Apply to adopt and come meet your new best friend! Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. We try to post videos for each pet so you can really get to know them. If you would like to find out more please email or call Diane at... diane@ulpr.org or 870-577-3744.   Please email us at diane@ulpr.org and request an application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 9, 2026, 5:28 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Let me introduce you to Annie ❤️   Annie is a beautiful Red Heeler with a heart to match. While she’s been raising her puppies, she’s also been showing everyone exactly who she is—and it’s something special.   Her foster mom says if she didn’t already have five dogs of her own, Annie would be staying. That alone tells you everything you need to know.   Annie has all the best traits of a cattle dog—she’s smart, attentive, loyal, and deeply connected to her people. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of your world, whether that’s helping you with daily life or simply being by your side.   And underneath that classic Heeler intelligence is a very sweet, gentle soul. She’s loving, steady, and has done an incredible job raising her puppies.   Annie is ready for a home of her own now—a place where she’s not just the mama, but someone’s heart dog.   If you know and love the spirit of a good cattle dog, Annie may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.   Apply to adopt Annie and give this wonderful girl the life she deserves. Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. We try to post videos for each pet so you can really get to know them. Story
🐾 BODE is a beautiful, friendly heeler/Aussie-type mix (his 3 female littermates look more Shepherdy) puppy that we were told was born 10/3/25, which would make him about 6 months old at the time of his listing. He has some plaque buildup that makes us wonder if they might have been off by a month or two, but he's def in that range. Right now he's 35 lbs and we're getting him and his 3 littermates all vaccinated and they are also on our schedule for altering and microchipping in the next several week, which is included in their adoption fee. Super sweet, smart as a whip, and friendly. He's been great and ignores the cats in his foster homr, and all have been good with the other dogs in their foster homes. They hadn't been exposed to leash walking before now, but they're picking it up quickly and all seem to be very food motivated. They're learning housetraining basics at their fosters, as well, but as we said super smart and also very motivated by food and to please. We'll update with more pics and info as we get them from his foster. 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. 💜 Please click PURPLE BUTTON above to apply or go to www.secondhanddogrescue.com/apply and be sure to choose their name from the dropdown to expedite your application!! ✍ APPLICATION PROCESSING: We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌 IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺 ADOPTION AREA: several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks)
We'll also keep you updated on Madison's adoption status with email updates.
