Story
Angel is thought to be a red merle Australian cattle dog mix who is 3-4 years old. She must have been dumped as a young puppy as she is not socialized to humans. She was trapped while running with two larger dogs. The dogs hunted chickens and cats to survive. We are so grateful that Angel got into the trap because the other two dogs were shot and killed by irate neighbors. Angel is 28 lbs and very healthy. She is stout and compact and would be great as a hiking companion or just a good little dog to sleep in your bed. Angel is making slow progress in becoming a pet. We have built a good relationship, and I can touch her all over and pick her up. She is still not use to a leash, but she comes when called and is very obedient. She is very food motivated and that will be the key to continuing her socialization. Angel lives at a pet hotel and is exposed to many dogs each day. She is playful and confident with other dogs. When she first meets another dog, she wants to assert her dominance. She needs mild correction and then she can be off leash and playing in no time. Angel cannot be with cats. Angel is getting more and more accustomed to strangers every day. It takes time to develop a relationship with her. Let’s face it Angel needs some love. She will need a patient, competent leader to continue her progress. **Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vet visits, deworming, and shots. ** Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org

This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue for information. Contact information is provided in the description below.Ziggy is a 6-1/2 year old Blue Heeler who needs a new home as he doesn't get along with other male dogs in the household. He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. He does not like toddlers, but tolerates older children. He is fine with cats, chickens, female dogs, and some male dogs - it just depends on their temperament. Ziggy is totally house trained, and sleeps inside or outside depending on the weather. He does OK on leash and in the car. If you are interested in Ziggy, please contact Carla at 828-395-3641.

Story
This animal is NOT available through Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. This is a courtesy listing only, so you will need to contact the current owner for more information or to adopt. PLEASE CONTACT THE OWNER: call or text: (207) 232-2708 Hi there! Thanks for your interest in this sweet girl Daisy. Daisy is just over five years old, a perfect size at just under 40 pounds, and up to date medically. She is (so far) a very loyal pup who loves her person, is medium/high energy, loves cuddles, and will make a great adventure dog. I adopted Daisy from Brother Wolf about five weeks ago and while I adore her, she is not meshing well with my current dog and is also more high energy than is a good fit for me. She and my dog are polar opposites in all kinds of ways, though I do think she would do great in a home with a medium/high energy dog who is confident and will set good boundaries with her because she can be a bit of a rascal. I don't know for sure, but it seems she is some kind of cattle dog mix and she definitely has some of those breed typical traits: a bit of herding, captain of squirrel observation, a very enthusiastic playmate, and loyal as the day is long. She also LOVES to play fetch, go for walks (would enjoy a much faster pace than my hound dog's current sniff and stroll), is great on runs and hikes/trail walks, and really just wants you to be in her sightline most of the time. She also enjoys going to the local coffee shop and sitting in the sun on the patio. She is crate trained. She sleeps in her crate, and currently takes naps in there too. She loves to chew her toys, and loves to sit on my patio and monitor the neighborhood. She does well on a leash, though she does pull sometimes when she spots a squirrel that she would like to more closely inspect. She corrects pretty easily but can become fixated and will need an alert owner. I think she would thrive in a home with a yard where she can run around, monitor the squirrels, chase a ball, maybe play with an active dog-pal, and take walks or runs with an active owner or family. She is super sweet to people, though nervous at first and does need a confident owner who will work with her on some of her insecurity. She is not very interested when we meet other dogs on walks and does best when she can keep her distance and just walk on by. I don't know if she's lived with cats, the original posting from Brother Wolf didn't say, but I would guess that a cat might not be the best fit for her. Also, not sure if she has lived with children. She is really a pretty amazing pup and I'm sad to discover that she's not the right fit for me and my current dog, but I just know there's a great future for her with another wonderful person! Please reach out with any questions, I really want to make sure Daisy goes to the right home where all her sweetness and spiciness can thrive.

Story
Shiloh is a great dog. She would be perfect on a large plot of land with a family. She is high energy and explorative. She is a fast learner, food motivated and has many commands. Her release word from a stay or her asking for something is "Free". Shiloh was found with 5 siblings in a parking lot on a hot day in Raleigh a year and a half ago. Now she loves winter, and playing in water on hot days. She is great candidate for buttons, as she has learned to hold or offer affirmative barks on the word of the thing she wants. Housebroken, loving, emotionally aware, crate trained. I am just looking for a family that can provide her the attention, space and activity she needs to be fulfilled.

Story
Meet Phillip our acrobatic wonder dog! Phillip is a cattle dog mix and is probably one of the most agile dogs we've had here. He loves to jump over things, do side jumps off of walls and slides under things so smoothly and quickly when you see it, you wonder if you saw it at all, until you see him do again. This handsome boy was destined to be on a farm as a working dog or movie star! Phillip is 2 years old, weighs 40 pounds, is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, microchipped and ready to find his forever home! If you're interested in meeting Phillp or possibly adopting, please submit an adoption application here: www.https://foothillshumanesociety.org/adopt/adoption-application/
