Story
River was abandoned in the national forest after we had a major ice/snow storm - myself along with animal control went out to try to get him and he was so terrified - after several hours I was able to gain his trust and he jumped into my car. River is a typical heeler - super super smart, loyal but the typical heeler attitude. This boy knows many commands, sit, stay, lay down, roll over, wait - he will not even eat until you tell him he can. His most favorite thing in the whole world to do is to play ball and he will play for hours and hours. He will need an adopter that has had "heeler" experience as they honestly are a breed of their own. But if you have experience with them - you also know how amazing they are. He would make an excellent hiking partner. Absolutely NO cats - and while he does well with dogs his size that are submissive - he would not mind being the only dog and this dog is going to be loyal to you without a doubt. He is estimated to be 4 years old and weighs 70 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, current on heartworm prevention, microchipped and is a very well trained dog. If River seems like the perfect dog for you, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - that is the first step in our process. We also require references and a home visit. His adoption fee is $250.00

Story
Hello there, future family! I'm Phillip, a spirited and athletic male Cattle Dog with a zest for life and a love for adventure. I'm 2 and a half years old and weigh a fit 42 lbs. Let me tell you a bit about myself and why I might be the perfect addition to your home! I'm a smart, people-pleasing pup who loves to stay active and work hard. My agile and determined nature makes me great at tasks that require focus and energy. I'm confident and housetrained, and I get along well with other dogs, making me a wonderful companion. I'd thrive in a home with plenty of room to run, especially if there's a farm with livestock where I can put my skills to good use. I'd also be an excellent partner for agility training and acrobatics-I love a good challenge and excel at activities that keep me moving and thinking. Here's some fantastic news: adult dog adoptions are free for the entire month of May! That means you can take me home without any adoption fees. Before we meet, make sure to submit your adoption application online. This helps my friends at the shelter make sure everything goes smoothly when we finally get to meet. One more thing: all of our animals, including me, come home spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and microchipped. So, you can be confident that I'm ready to join your family happy and healthy. Let's be BFFs! Filling out an application is super duper easy, and it puts you at no obligation to adopt if we aren't the perfect match. You can use this quick and easy link to meet me soon: https://foothillshumanesociety.org/adopt/adoption-application/ Can't wait to meet you! Love and high-fives, Phillip

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact mlboyd928@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet.Meet Greyson! He is loyal, loving, energetic and eager to learn. Finding a new home for him is really hard for us but necessary for everyone. He needs a different environment more suitable for his needs. Greyson is a rescue dog we adopted in Minnesota after he was found on a reservation in South Dakota with a broken, mangled rear leg. The rescue organization in Minnesota amputated the leg shortly before we adopted him. He adjusted very well quickly and loves to run (very fast). Sometimes you'll see his nub moving because he has an itch that just needs to be scratched!Greyson came to live with us in October 2020. We had 2 other dogs, a cat and 2 kids. He did great and played (still does) hard with our smaller male dog. Never bothered the old female dog. Then he started resource guarding food. He has randomly been attacking the other male dog for several months. It doesn't work for us anymore. He needs to be an only dog and probably a farm dog with a job.  Greyson wants to please people, loves fetch and lots of petting. We underestimated our ability to be the right fit for him. I hope you won't be deterred by the fact that he's been aggressive with our other dog. He's a wonderful companion and needs someone who can commit a lot of one-on-one time with him. And lots and lots of exercise.Contact me today at mlboyd928@gmail.com to meet or learn more about Greyson! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. July 26, 2024, 1:35 am

Story
Shiloh is a great dog. She would be perfect on a large plot of land with a family. She is high energy and explorative. She is a fast learner, food motivated and has many commands. Her release word from a stay or her asking for something is "Free". Shiloh was found with 5 siblings in a parking lot on a hot day in Raleigh a year and a half ago. Now she loves winter, and playing in water on hot days. She is great candidate for buttons, as she has learned to hold or offer affirmative barks on the word of the thing she wants. Housebroken, loving, emotionally aware, crate trained. I am just looking for a family that can provide her the attention, space and activity she needs to be fulfilled.
