Story
Looking for a canine partner that is already professionally trained? Look no further than Vinny! Vinny came to Sanctuary One from a high kill shelter back in June. The shelter staff sent numerous videos of him interacting with dogs, children etc. and he did great! Once he arrived he was fine with our other shelter dogs and staff. Vinny was adopted but returned because he started resource guarding food, toys etc. This was not a behavior we had seen from him prior to being adopted. Our volunteer dog trainers from Companion Canine took Vinny home for a 2 week crash course where he learned to have manners and we found out that he is really smart and loves his training sessions! Here is the video the trainers made of him: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-FxCGpywk_f13IbfggqC2cMwZiCIAl-_/view Vinny is an amazing little guy but will need an adopter that is willing to keep up on his training. He is super smart and would excel in scent work or advanced obedience training. He has retained all of his training since he has been back with us. Vinny is very sweet, he loves to give hugs! If Vinny sounds like a match for you, please put in your Adoption Application today: https://sanctuaryone.org/rescue-animals/adopt-us/adoption-application/

Rescue Ranch puppies are raised through our puppy foster program. They will have met adults, children, often other dogs, maybe cats. 16-week or older puppies will have taken part in our "Reading to Rescue Pups" program and attended many events. When they are at least 8 weeks old, puppies are given a wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian.  Before going home, all puppies will have been dewormed and received all age-appropriate vaccinations for parvo/distemper, and Bordetella. If they are 4 months or older they will also have their rabies vaccination. All p uppies are also microchipped and registered with  911PetChip . We require spay/neutering of puppies at 6-8 months old (or the appropriate age for giant breeds)  by our veterinarian. The procedure is covered by the adoption fee. Alternatively, adopters can choose to have the procedure done by their own vet (proof required),  and a portion of the cost will be refunded.    All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care and are spay/neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated.  The standard adoption donation fee for all dogs and puppies is $300 (unless a reduced fee applies )  APPLY NOW       April 19, 2025, 9:45 pm

Story
Meet Ginny! While Ginny may look like a normal dog, we believe she is actually the infamous "wiggle worm" told in stories! This young girl is always wagging her tail a mile a minute and ready for any adventure! She absolutely loves playing in shallow water and being sprayed by the hose! She has learned what the faucet sounds like when it turns on and she goes right into play mode.    Ginny has been paired with a multitude of dogs and does well with all types! She enjoys a good play session but is perfectly content with just coexisting. She would likely thrive in a multi-dog home but would also enjoy just a single companion to spend her time with. She has even recently been promoted to puppy nanny and she is doing great! She knows how to keep the young, bratty puppies in check and keep them in line. Ginny would love to go to a home with a large yard where she can get her zoomies out daily.    Ginny is very intelligent and loyal to her family. She walks well on a harness, knows 'Sit', and has very good recall. She was in a short-term foster home and they were able to have her off leash and she stayed close by, always coming when called. Her curious nature leads us to believe that she could learn all types of tricks with ease!    If this social and active girl sounds perfect for your family, come to the Ranch to meet her today!     Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog. While they are with us, each and every rescue dog receives the best of care in a loving and nurturing environment. Their routines include daily playgroups or partnering with dog buddies, quality time walking or being groomed, and two meals a day with dog biscuits for dessert.   All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care and are spay/neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated.  The standard adoption donation fee for all dogs and puppies is $300 (unless a reduced fee applies )  APPLY NOW       April 11, 2025, 1:26 pm
