Story
He is a very loving dog that is always looking for affection. He loves to snuggle! He needs lots of exercise, we usually ride our bike with him so he can run. He loves playing fetch and tug war. He already knows a few tricks like sit, lay down, wait and give. He is house trained and he will always ask you go outside if he needs to go potty. He is a really good dog but he needs more exercise than we can provide. If you have a nice backyard and are active, he will be the dog for you. Please do not submit an adoption application if you are a home buddy. We want to make sure Cookie goes to a home where he will get all the mental and physical exercise that he needs.

Story
Looking for a canine partner that is already professionally trained? Look no further than Vinny! Vinny came to Sanctuary One from a high kill shelter back in June. The shelter staff sent numerous videos of him interacting with dogs, children etc. and he did great! Once he arrived he was fine with our other shelter dogs and staff. Vinny was adopted but returned because he started resource guarding food, toys etc. This was not a behavior we had seen from him prior to being adopted. Our volunteer dog trainers from Companion Canine took Vinny home for a 2 week crash course where he learned to have manners and we found out that he is really smart and loves his training sessions! Here is the video the trainers made of him: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-FxCGpywk_f13IbfggqC2cMwZiCIAl-_/view Vinny is an amazing little guy but will need an adopter that is willing to keep up on his training. He is super smart and would excel in scent work or advanced obedience training. He has retained all of his training since he has been back with us. Vinny is very sweet, he loves to give hugs! If Vinny sounds like a match for you, please put in your Adoption Application today: https://sanctuaryone.org/rescue-animals/adopt-us/adoption-application/

Story
Please read this post in its entirety. Please acknowledge that you have done so. Your response serves as your preliminary application. Please provide the requested information. I cannot stress that enough. I need more than "I want a dog, live in a house, and will love him". Introducing Beth Blackstone, an 8-week-old presumed red-heeler Beagle mix puppy found abandoned on the railroad tracks; this area is a gathering place for 'the unhoused'. I immediately took her to the veterinarian to test for parvo! Whew- negative. She did have a few sores, which are being treated. This little 6-pound doll is estimated to be about 40 pounds at adulthood. She is learning her potty manners and now keeping company with Nanny Nimm. Nanny Nimm is a super senior who is blind, deaf, and has no teeth. She is a grumpy old lady who has resigned herself to having a bed-buddy. She is also looking for a gentle place to land for the rest of her days. Beth has been wormed, first shots, and parasite prevention. If you want to inquire, please remember she is a puppy. Your things are her chew toys, and your floors are her potty-time training ground. She has not shown to be an indiscriminate chewer. You will agree to have her spayed and provide proof thereof that you have done so at an age determined by your veterinarian or by the age of one year old. You will not breed her- be it by accident or design. Tell us about you, your family, your activities, your property, the city you live in, other pets in your home, and whatever else puts you on top. The more information about you, the better. What can this companion expect from you, and what are your expectations of him/her? Additionally, we will not meet halfway. Please prepare to meet in person without hurry, and be willing to have a home evaluation and viewing of your social media. There is a fee for placement to offset medical and care. Age-appropriate placement is at the discretion of the guardian advocate. Please allow several or more days for a response, as I review inquiries. I appreciate your understanding—Raleigh's Rescue Advocacy. *DNA testing is not performed, and we can only give you an assumed breed or breed mix.

Story
Meet Fables — a gentle soul with a story worth telling. Fables came to us after being found on HWY A-12, bravely wandering alongside two younger puppies who looked to her for guidance. Even in the toughest moments, she stayed patient and protective. Since arriving at the ranch, she’s shown us exactly who she is: a quiet hero with a heart full of love. This sweet girl gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has a soft spot for playful pups. With people, she starts off a little shy — but once she trusts you, she blossoms. Fables just needs someone willing to move at her pace, offer kindness, and show her she’s finally safe. Her absolute favorite thing in the world? Walks. The moment you pick up the leash, she lights up, wagging her whole body with joy. Out on the trail, she becomes her best self: confident, curious, and genuinely happy. Fables is a medium-energy rescue dog who would thrive with a patient, understanding handler who can help her continue to build confidence. She’s the type of dog who will reward your compassion tenfold — with loyalty, gratitude, and those full-body wags that make every day brighter. If Fables sounds like the kind of dog you’d love to welcome into your heart and home, give the ranch a call today. She’s ready for her next chapter… she just needs someone willing to turn the page with her. Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog. While they are with us, each and every rescue dog receives the best of care in a loving and nurturing environment. Their routines include daily playgroups or partnering with dog buddies, quality time walking or being groomed, and two meals a day with dog biscuits for dessert.  All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care and are spay/neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated.  The standard adoption donation fee for all dogs and puppies is $300 (unless a reduced fee applies )  APPLY NOW       November 23, 2025, 1:29 pm

Story
Meet Rigby — the bright, playful, outgoing boy who’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and adventure into your life! Rigby is one of those dogs who instantly makes the world feel a little brighter. With his fun-loving spirit and eager “let’s go!” attitude, he’s always up for a game of fetch, a romp with his doggy pals, or any activity that gets him moving and enjoying time with his people. He’s truly happiest when he’s part of the action. A medium-high energy pup, Rigby would thrive in a semi-active home where he can stretch his legs, exercise his mind, and share his upbeat personality with his family. Whether it’s weekend adventures, daily walks, or simply interactive playtime in the yard, Rigby is ready to be your partner in fun. But that’s not all — this boy is smart. Rigby is attentive, eager to learn, and already knows some basic commands. With his drive to please and his quick mind, continued training will come naturally to him. He’s the type of dog who wants to work with you, listen to you, and make you proud. He’s also wonderfully dog-friendly, making him a great fit for homes with other playful, friendly pups. His social, outgoing nature makes him a joy to have around — he’s the kind of dog who lifts the spirits of both people and other dogs alike. If you’re searching for a companion who is friendly, playful, bright, and full of heart, Rigby might just check every box. Give the Ranch a call today to meet Rigby — he’s ready to steal your heart one wag, fetch, and goofy grin at a time. Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog.
