After months of treatment, rest, and lots of love, this sweet boy is officially healthy, heartworm-free, and ready for his forever home. At 8 years old, Red is the perfect mix of adventure buddy and couch companion. He gets along well with other dogs and truly enjoys making new friends. Red is a cattle dog through and through — smart, loyal, and just a little mouthy (it’s his breed’s way of communicating!). Because of this, he would do best in a home without children. Meet Birdy! If you're missing a cuddly companion to give you all of their love, look no further than Miss Birdy. Birdy came to us as a stray who was sadly never claimed, but that never bothered her any. Birdy is a gorgeous black and tan hound mix, we suspect the other part of her is blue heeler. We estimate her birthday to be 08/01/2021, so she is still young and eager to learn! Birdy seemed to have learned little to no manners or commands before coming to us, but she has since begun working on learning things such as "sit", her name, and walking better on a leash. This joyful girl is as sweet as sugar, too, and is so ready to have a family of her own to smother with snuggles and kisses. Birdy gives some of the best hugs around, and gets so excited to greet the friends she's made here. Being still under a year old, she also is very eager to have playmates and is so enthusiastic to do whatever her buddies want to. She loves to use her hound dog nose to chase scents in our play yard, and would likely love a large fenced yard to explore as she pleases. We always require a meet and greet if you have other dogs, but Birdy does fantastic with them and would make a great little sister to your existing pets. She also does well with children, and would do great with cats too. Birdy is fully vetted and microchipped, but not yet spayed, with an adoption fee of $175 + a refundable $75 spay deposit. Last Christmas, my whole world changed. 🎄💔 I showed up at the shelter wearing my little Christmas collar… confused, scared, and wondering why I no longer had a home. While everyone else was celebrating the holidays, I was spending mine in the shelter system. I waited and waited, hoping someone would choose me. Then ✨ Cane-9 Rescue & Sanctuary stepped in and gave me a second chance. Hi, I’m Bumble. 🐝 I’m just 1 year old, around 48 lbs, and everyone says I’m the perfect mix of goofy, smart, loving, and loyal. The rescue says I’ve been SUCH a good boy, and honestly… I’m trying really hard to prove I deserve forever this time. Here’s what they’ve learned about me so far: 🐾 100% potty trained 🐾 Crate trained and sleep through the night without a peep 🐾 Great with kids 🐾 Dog AND cat friendly 🐾 Non-destructive when left alone 🐾 Loves toys but doesn’t destroy them 🐾 Takes treats gently 🐾 Walks nicely on leash 🐾 Knows commands like “sit,” “down,” “stay,” “come,” and “paw” 🐾 Basically just a very happy little guy who wants love The rescue thinks I’m probably an Australian Cattle Dog/Heeler mixed with maybe some White Lab. Which means I’m SMART smart. Like… “watching everything you do” smart. I’m a young working breed dog, so I need a home that understands heelers and gives me structure, patience, and outlets for my brain. I do have some herding tendencies — one time a maintenance worker came into the house and I tried to herd him right back out. 😅 But honestly, that’s pretty common for cattle dogs. We’re loyal, intelligent, sensitive dogs who were bred to work closely with our people. I just need a home that understands my breed and is willing to guide me while helping me feel secure. And once I trust you? Oh, I’m YOUR dog. ❤️ At the rescue, I even have a best friend named Mochiko — we came from the same shelter and now we’re roommates who share a guest room together. 🥹 I know my perfect family is out there somewhere. Someone who sees my big heart, my goofy smile, my intelligence, and my loyalty… and understands that working dogs like me don’t just want a home — we want a purpose, a routine, and a person to love forever. I spent last Christmas abandoned in a shelter. Can this year finally be the start of my forever? 🎄🐾
