Story
â¤ï¸ Blue Sassy: The Dog Who Still Has So Much Love Left to Give ❤️   Sometimes a rescue story finds you, and before you know it, you’ve become part of a journey that desperately deserves a happy ending.   Blue Sassy is a 9-year-old Blue Heeler who spent her entire life with one man who adored her. He raised her from a puppy, and every night she slept beside him. She wasn’t just his dog—she was his comfort, his companion, and his therapy through life’s challenges.   A few months ago, her owner reached out to Critter Cavalry Rescue with a heartbreaking request. His health was failing, and he was being forced to move somewhere his beloved dogs could not follow. Through tears, he asked us to help.   When Blue Sassy came into rescue, she finally received the veterinary care she hadn’t had in years. During her spay and wellness exam, we discovered she was diabetic. The untreated diabetes had also affected her eyesight, leaving her with limited vision.   But here’s the remarkable thing about Blue Sassy…   She doesn’t feel sorry for herself.   She wakes up every day happy. She greets people with a smile. She loves to explore the yard with her nose leading the way. She loves ear scratches, belly rubs, curling up on the couch, and most of all, sitting in your lap soaking up affection. She still has all the intelligence, confidence, and personality that make Blue Heelers such incredible companions.   Her foster family absolutely adores her.   Blue Sassy would do best in a home with minimal stairs and easy access to the outdoors for potty breaks. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, loves children, and enjoys being around people. While her vision isn’t perfect, she navigates her world surprisingly well and adapts with the resilience dogs are famous for.   Her diabetes is manageable with twice-daily insulin injections, given about 12 hours apart. The insulin itself is affordable, and the injections are quick and easy. Other than her diabetes, her bloodwork and health checks have been excellent.   What Blue Sassy needs now isn’t pity.   She needs someone who sees beyond a diagnosis and recognizes the loving, loyal, funny, affectionate dog standing right in front of them.   At 9 years old, she still has plenty of life to live, plenty of cuddles to give, and plenty of memories left to make. Age is only a number, and Blue Sassy’s heart is as young as ever.   Could you be the person who gives this sweet girl the next chapter she deserves?   If you’d like to learn more about Blue Sassy, please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   She has already been someone’s whole world once. We’d love to find her another family to love just as deeply       ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com.June 16, 2026, 12:36 am

Story
Meet Bones!  Some dogs just need someone willing to see the world a little differently. Bones is one of those dogs. At just over a year old and around 80 pounds, Bones is a gorgeous Great Pyrenees/Heeler mix with a big heart, a joyful spirit, and a smile that lights up a room. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, on heartworm prevention, and ready to find the family he's been waiting for. Bones is deaf, but don't let that fool you—he is incredibly smart and highly trainable. He already knows hand signals for 'come' and 'sit' and has shown just how capable he is of learning. He loves people, thrives on interaction, and wakes up every day excited for whatever adventure comes next. Raised by an experienced rescuer, Bones has lived around multiple dogs and has zero history of aggression toward other dogs. He loves canine companionship and enjoys playtime with dogs of various sizes. Because he is a big, enthusiastic boy who doesn't always realize his own size and strength, very tiny or fragile dogs may not be the best fit simply because his play style can be exuberant. Bones has spent much of his life outdoors but is also comfortable spending time indoors when supervised. He adapts well and enjoys being part of the family. Because Bones is deaf, he cannot hear growls, hisses, or other warning signals from animals around him. Unfortunately, there have been incidents involving cats, and he should not be placed in a home with cats or other small animals. This is not a reflection of aggression, but it does mean he needs a home where everyone can be kept safe.  The decision to rehome Bones was made with tremendous love and care. He is not a problem dog. He is a special dog who deserves a home that understands his unique needs and appreciates everything that makes him wonderful. If you have a soft spot for dogs who are a little different, a little extraordinary, and completely deserving of a chance, Bones may be exactly the companion you've been looking for..Please email Critter Cavalry at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 16, 2026, 12:36 am

Story
Please know that there is absolutely nothing wrong with her. In fact, it’s quite the contrary. She is sweet, energetic, and loves all people, both adults and children and loves dogs so much. She has a regular vet, up to date on all immunizations and gets her flea, tick and heart worm prevention on schedule. She’s loved in the neighborhood even though she crazily jumps on everyone she meets along her short walks. We’re just not in a position to keep her because my older dog is acting aggressively towards her. When they play in the apartment, my older dog barks and growls at her and is very rough with her to get Willow to leave her alone. The other day, I had to separate them to avoid the older dog from being overly aggressive. We don’t know what to do except find her a place where she’ll be adopted into a safe and happy home.

We were contacted about several dogs in need of rescue who were living outdoors with minimal shelter during a period of torrential rain and severe storms. Thankfully, Joe is now safe and ready to find a loving home of his own. Joe gets along great with other dogs and has an easygoing, sweet personality that makes him a joy to be around. This little guy is easy to handle, trusting, and loves being close to his people. One of Joe’s favorite things is going for car rides—he's happiest when he gets to tag along on life's adventures. Story
Our happy, soft coated fluffy girl puppy is called Patty Pro Bono and the shelter who took in the litter of Great Pyr and Australian Shepherd pups named the litter after the Lawyer who brought them in to find homes.  The lawyer's female Great Pyr  had the accidental litter on 2/26/26 and brought them in the first of last of April to find them homes. When you first meet Patty you are ready to hug her and reassure her that she will find a great family very soon.  She is happy, well adjusted and has one of those easy going personalities that is bright and upbeat.  She is a curious girl and not as big as some of her littermates that take after the Great Pyr.  Patty takes after the size of her dad who is an Australian Shepherd.  At just 15 weeks she weighs 21 pounds and is destined to be a 50 pound adult that will be fluffy and gorgeous like an Australian Shepherd, and will carry the energy and intelligence of the breed.  Patty and her litter had spent the past  4 weeks with no adoptions happening.  It was a small town shelter.  The Director started making calls and pleas to rescues and Critter Cavalry Rescue could not resist helping this beautiful litter of 6 puppies.   They needed foster care and comfort from a foster family who can show them love and training.  This incredibly beautiful  girl has done so well with other dogs and with young children.  She is just a sweetheart and is quickly learning about crate training and is on a schedule to go out for potty breaks. We want this girl to grow up successfully in a fenced yard and to learn leash manners right away.  She loves to sleep most of the night in her puppy bed on the floor by the bed.  Patty Pro Bono is more than just beautiful - she is a thoughtful girl that is sensitive and quiet.  She would lay by your feet while you work all day long.  She loves to run and romp in the yard and this is why we are looking for a family with a fence.  She is a smart, observant puppy who takes in the world around her and responds with curiosity and heart. She adores snuggling with her  foster mom and happily soaks up attention, pets, and love from everyone she meets. Watching her romp around with joyful zoomies is pure happiness in motion.    ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com.June 16, 2026, 12:36 am

Story
When we tell the story of  Mika, we have chosen to leave out the harsh details of the neglect and dirty conditions that she lived in.  Suffice to say it was disturbing to view. She was rescued alongside her sister, Millicent  who endured the same harsh living conditions. Despite a history of being mistreated and neglected, Mika the 18 month old, 52 pound  Aussie/Hound mix girl has a heart of gold and has shown zero resentment. She has spent the last few weeks learning what it means to be safe, clean, and cared for, and she has taken to her new life with total grace. Personality: Calm, affectionate, and steady. Mika is the definition of a sweetheart. She has a gentle, low-key temperament that makes her a perfect fit for a family looking for a more relaxed companion. She is fantastic with kids and simply wants to be where the love is. While she hasn't quite figured out what to do with toys yet, she is incredibly food-motivated, which has made her recent leash training a breeze! Mika is a polite listener who comes when called and is eager to please. She would be a wonderful addition to a home that values cuddles and a steady presence. She is ready to trade her rescue status for a lifetime of treats and affection. Best Skills: Calm demeanor, highly food-motivated (easy to train!), great listener, and kid-friendly. Ideal Home: A loving family that enjoys a peaceful pace and plenty of bonding time. Mika is ready for a new and fresh reset to her life.  She is ready to leave the hard past behind and only look ahead.  She is in Nashville, TN but can be transported to the northeastern states that the transport van visits and stops in.   Critter Cavalry Rescue would love to hear from you at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   We stand behind this girl being one of the best dogs you could ever call your very own.   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Meet Milo Milo is a handsome Australian Shepherd mix who is about 8 months old and weighs 32 pounds. Behind those beautiful eyes is a story of survival, kindness, and a second chance. Sometimes it feels like special dogs find exactly the right people when they need them most. Milo and his sister, Millie, were abandoned and left to fend for themselves along a local Greenway. Thankfully, fate stepped in when his foster mom, Kayla, crossed paths with Millie and learned there was another frightened puppy hiding nearby. For three days, Milo stayed just out of reach, taking shelter in a drainage ditch and avoiding people. When he was finally caught and brought to safety, he was covered in fleas and ticks and understandably scared of the world around him. Today, Milo is discovering what it means to be loved. While he can still be timid around loud noises and unfamiliar situations, he warms up quickly and simply wants to be close to his people. Every day his confidence grows a little more as he learns that he is finally safe. He is wonderful with young children, gets along well with cats, and does great with other dogs. Like most puppies his age, Milo enjoys chewing, so he happily keeps himself entertained with his favorite chew toys. He is also making great progress with potty training and learning all the skills he needs to become an amazing family companion.  Because of his gentle and affectionate personality, Milo would thrive in a home with another friendly dog and a family that can give him plenty of companionship. He doesn’t enjoy being alone for long periods and would do best with someone who is home often or has a flexible schedule. He prefers to eat his meals separately from other dogs, but otherwise enjoys canine company and seems happiest when he has a furry friend nearby. Milo has overcome so much in his young life, and now all he needs is a family to show him that he will never be abandoned again. If you would like to give this deserving boy the forever home he has been waiting for, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Milo is ready to leave his days of uncertainty behind and start the next chapter of his life with a family of his very own.   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
