Story
Our handsome 2-year-old Blue Heeler is full of love, loyalty, and playful energy. He’s great with families, kids, and other dogs, and would thrive in an active home that understands his smart and spirited nature. True to his breed, he’s alert, eager to please, and incredibly intelligent. He loves to run, play fetch, and be part of the action, but also enjoys cuddling up once he’s had his exercise. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and does well on a leash. No aggression, no bad habits — just a happy, affectionate boy who wants a purpose and a person to bond with. Due to recent life changes, we can’t give him the time and space he deserves. He needs a home with a yard or someone who enjoys walks, hikes, or just being outdoors with their dog. We’re looking for a loving, committed home where he’ll be safe, active, and deeply loved.

Story
Rosie was found wandering by a family member last year. She has no micro chip, and her breed is unknown. She is the most loving ~2 year old dog and does not deserve to spend 12 hours a day waiting in a kennel. She is house trained, kennel trained, and gets along happily with most dogs she meets. No rehoming fee.

Story
**Killeen TX** Saffie is a small girl and so very very soft, a fact you notice immediately because she loves to snuggle. She is a very playful dog, good in a crate, likes her squeaky toys and enjoys the kiddy pool also. She's shown here playing with her foster brother and just having a good time. Saffie is about a year old, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines and ready for a forever family. We don't know how she is with cats and do not generally recommend heelers be adopted to homes that have them. To potentially meet or adopt Saffie please fill out an application on our website irescuehomelesspets dot org under the adopt tab.

Story
Meet Flower! She is around 3 years old and we believe she is a heeler mix. She is utd on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She weighs around 45lbs. She is shy with new people but with some treats and kind words she’ll come around. Once she comes around she is a ball of excitement. She has lived with dogs and children. She is not good with small dogs or cats. She would do great in a house that would be willingly to help her get comfortable with the world and go on adventures. She would probably be happy as an only dog or with just one friend! She is ready to snuggle on the couch and learn to sleep in bed with you. She would love to wear a sweater in this cold weather. She will do ANYTHING for a treat. If you think Flower might be a great fit for your home and lifestyle, please submit your application. Story
Meet Rodger, the adorable boy with both good looks AND personality. We think Rodger is somewhere between 2-4 years old, maybe a cattle dog/husky mix, currently just under 50 lbs. He came in to the shelter as a stray severely malnourished and with a significant limp. The vets determined he had a dislocated hip from an old injury. He is now recovering from his surgery and doing fantastic in his foster home. He is doing great with rehab and gaining some much-needed weight. Rodger is UTD on all vaccines, HW negative, and neutered. He has medium energy, is great with leash walking, house trained, crate trained, knows basic obedience, and is good with dogs of all sizes. At the shelter he ignored the cats in the cat room (his foster home doesn’t have cats). If you are looking for a sweet companion, Rodger would be an excellent choice. If you would like to meet Rodger, complete an application found under the How to Adopt menu on our website at www.myhappytail.org.
