Story
Groot is a sweet boy that needs to either be in a foster or permanent home. His previous family could no longer keep him due to his sudden urge to “guard the yard” when they expected him to herd cattle due to his breed. There’s not much clarity as to the details of what he would do to “guard” his yard- but since then he has been surrendered to a vet clinic where he resides until finding the right place. He has been nothing but amazing- walks well on leash, goes in and out of his kennel nicely for a dog that was living outside, and the best part- he’s potty trained! No accidents noted since he’s been here. There are only a few unknowns about him, like if he does well with other animals or not. Overall he’s a great dog and needs to get out of the clinic asap!

Story
Breed: Blue Heeler / cattle dog Meet Billie! She is a wonderful dog. She definitely prefers outside during the day and inside during the night. She does not do well with fireworks, thunder, or other loud sudden noises. It was reported that she got along well with a couple of male socialized dogs, But she does not have a good relationship with our 2 female dogs. She loves to snuggle and will gladly lay with you on the couch, bed, or floor. Those snuggles are her favorite thing. She also enjoys car rides. Belly rubs and food. She does not exhibit any food aggression towards us even when we move the dish, rub her face, or just take the food away before she is finished. Billie enjoys chasing balls but prefers to be chased when she has the ball. She is very good on a leash but does tug a little. She can also be trusted to stay by you if you take her without a leash to get mail or something. So far there have not been any distractions when we have walked her without a leash, but I suspect she might run if she sees another dog. She is house trained and will hold her pee until she just cannot and then rather than pee on the floor, she will dribble on herself. It is possible there might be a bladder issue there. She really tries extremely hard to learn and obey and she is certainly teachable. She understands basic commands such as sit, shake hands, lay down and wait. Billie would do well with a large, fenced yard and children to play with. I have zero worries about her and my children. She is high energy and enjoys running with you, from you, or chasing you. She seems to prefer women to men but enjoys both. Bringing her indoors at night to sleep or during noise events (fireworks, shooting, thunderstorms) is important. She enjoys being in the company of humans indoors or outdoors. Once she gets comfortable, she would prefer to spend every waking moment with you. She is certainly affectionate with us. She is just a joy to have. If she got along with our other dogs, we would gladly keep her. I do not have the experience or time to work on this with her, but I'm sure that if someone were to work with her just a couple times a day for 20 or 30 minutes, she can be trained to have a good relationship with other dogs. She's a herd dog by nature so we are guessing she could work well with livestock with the right training. In hot weather she tends to dig in the shade to keep cool.

Story
She is a very sweet and energetic dog. When I got her from the shelter a few months back all they knew about her was that she was a stray. As soon as we started going out on walks she got very aggressive towards other dogs and I'm not sure what the cause is. I've worked with her and a trainer for a few months and the aggression isn't getting any better. I'm nervous to even walk her around the apartment complex due to the interactions she's had with other dogs and feel the best bet is to try and get her rehomed.

Sir is a very sweet and well mannered boy. He sits on command and is doing well with house training. Walks well on and off leash. Has excellent recall. Loves to play with other animals and really loves his human. He is a very sweet and snuggly boy. He loves to be with his people. His bed is his go to place and loves to have toys to chew on. He likes going for rides in the car. He is good with food and can have a bowl to free eat as he wants. He currently plays with 8 other dogs off leash. He is also good with horses. Story
Bella is a super happy go lucky puppy. Her birthdate is April 28, 2023. We have had her since July 2023. Unfortunately, our older dog is just not nice to her, and I'm almost 9 months pregnant and I just don't see them being good with the newborn together. It really breaks my heart because Bella loves playing with my 4 year old. She loves fetching, is potty trained, and loves cuddling on the couch. She needs to go to a good family that can spend time with her, go on walks, and love on her. She has all the blue heeler attributes, and will make a great family dog. We have a kennel for her (she is kennel trained) a couple of toys, a dog bed, food, bowls, and an airtight food container for her, all of which we are giving away with Bella.

Story
We got nala about 2-3 weeks ago and she is super friendly with our children and adapted easy to already having 2 dogs. She is kennel trained she will sleep through the night in her kennel with no accidents. Reason for wanting to rehome her is, I found out I was getting medboarded from the military and we are having trouble finding affordable homes to rent with 3 dogs homes are only allowing 2 pets. She can not be fixed until 3 months old and is roughly 2 1/2 months old Food will be included along with her kennel

Story
Meet Bella! She is a very sweet 2 year old female Kelpie/GSD mix, and is UTD on shots, spayed, and on monthly heartworm/flea preventative. Bella has undergone successful heartworm treatment and is now heartworm negative! Bella doesn’t do great with small dogs (under 20lbs) but she’s perfect with all other dogs, male and female. Bella is very kid friendly. She is more of a submissive, low key dog, with bursts of energy but 90% of the time wanting to be by your feet laying down sleeping. She does need some work on leash manners and not jumping on guests when they enter the house. Bella does not bark at all. She does whine a bit in her crate at first but quickly stops. She is completely housebroken and crate trained. She’s the sweetest dog who just wants love all day every day and to spend every waking moment by the people she loves. Big and small. Please please please give this girl a chance!! If you'd like to make Bella a furever member of your family please fill out our adoption application at adoption.poundpupandfriends.org
